in my haste to post, I missed out on the McLels getting DSQ at Vegas. This shit has gotten so obviously scripted that I don't think I'm going to bother with 2026. McLaren throw away an easy 1-2 with a boneheaded strategy call from an early SC, so Max just so happens to score the points he needs to keep in the championship, Piastri is right behind him, and Norris loses just enough to keep the other two in the fight. Lemme predict how the final race goes: Piastri crashes out, and Max + Lando end on equal points with the title going to Norris on countback. WWE on wheels.

my script leak was somewhat inaccurate, but Norris wins it anyway. I wish I could say I was happy to live long enough to have seen someone other than Red Bull or Mercedes win the championship again, but the amount of race engineering that went towards giving it to Lando spoils the enjoyment. Max fought like hell with the RB coming into its own in the second half of the season, but the McLarens had built up enough of a buffer it didn't matter. Oscar meanwhile wobbled away a season he all but had in the bag, and probably won't get another opportunity like this. Whatever. I'm not bothering with 2026, the new rules make it even more obvious how scripted the series is gonna be.
