What does /t/ think about GNOME?
(411.85 KB 1024x1024 1719380809595.webm)

>NOOOOO YOU CAN'T THEME OUR APPS
Gnome 2.0 was kino and tied with Xfce for my favorite window manager on early Debian Looked cool mixing "old" with "new" via Beryll Fuck it now tho
KDEUCKs and GNIGGERS need to explain right now why they're not using the REAL best desktop environment.
the beauty of gnome is that it filters compulsive ricers and brainlets who can't figure out how you're actually supposed to use it. you probably worship vim for offering increased efficiency but don't apply the same logic to something like gnome, which is absolutely the case, for a much smaller learning curve. the problem with vanilla gnome haters is that they are not trying to simplify their computing experience or get shit done. all they wanna do is make time pass and play the autistic male equivalent of dressing up dolls on their computers.
>>17407 sorry chud, only mongoloids use non-tiling window managers
(111.67 KB 753x878 0498b.jpg)

>>17407 >Cinnamon Really?
>>17463 I dunno man, usually stuff is maximized when I use stuff anyways Just set the taskbar to autohide and turned off window decorations It looks cool but mostly I just can't bear tinkering around and figuring out all the config and learning all the keybinds to feel comfy in something like that And then comes making sure I have everything backed up and am able to re-create it when I need to move to a new device or need to reinstall
>>17463 The only thing anyone uses a tiling window manager for is to configure their tiling window manager.
>>17077 (OP) GNOME is more functional for productivity but crashes a lot.
>>17077 (OP) Never used it. My journey so far: xfce -> i3 -> fvwm -> plasma -> fvwm & i3
>>17077 (OP) fuck off pedo. jesus, do people really put up with this outside of /b/?
>>17809 You don't belong here
>>17810 if you are OP you dont belong in this plane of existance
>>17811 That's cute AND funny anon
>>17077 (OP) NAKADASHI
>>17077 (OP) Looks nice, shame about everything else. Sticking with KDE.
>burger menus >headerbars >client-side decorations Gnome is the cancer that is killing the Linux desktop.
> what do you think about (desktop environment)? I think you should use something that allows you to be productive on your computer. The thing your computer was meant to do.
>>17210 The last time gNOME was good was when Ubongo 10.04 was released. every version after that was utter garbage, including the current version >footfags BTFO, how will they every recover
>>17077 (OP) use case?
Gnome is ass. It was like it was made for a Fisher-Price tablet. Anyone who uses it on desktop is a masochist. Anyone who uses it on non 2in1 laptops is a little weird.
>>17407 Just tried it (again after like a decade) while distro hopping, couldn't find a way to get thin icons on a vertical taskbar, was happy to see kde enables it.
>>17077 (OP) it used to be fine but then came gnome 3
Are 4cuck posters so dumb that they can’t look up porn on their own so they rely on making threads on image boards to entice other people to post porn for them?
>>18116 This, also Nautilus is shit
>>17809 >girl is obviously an adult with child bearing hips >anon immediately thinks about children and projects it on everyone else
>>19054 you see, the porn people post is already pre-selected so the porn is generally of higher quality. you don't have to sift through so much low quality shit. t. coomer
I love it. Call it Stockholm Syndrome, but I could never use another.
>>19058 >Nautilus >doesn't tell you where you are copying files too >doesn't have "rename all while copying" function >no graph of copy >no LISTING of copy performance >Haha here's your copy from ??? to ??? at ??? speed, bro :^) t. gnome user
>In pokedex voice Gnome The foot fetish desktop!

Whenever I find myself on a Linux computer that's running Gnome desktop, it is difficult to resist the urge to destroy the computer entirely. If I was trying to kill Linux, I would invent something like Gnome. It's like someone looked at MacOS X, failed to understand it at all, and made a half-finished copy. The dev team sperging out and making things worse every time someone complains is peak idiocy though.

>>22666 For once i completely agree with you satan. Don't forget the part where gnome devs actively try to make everyone else life miserable by proximity through making their toolkit less and less portable to other environments. Do you need that software? Too bad it was written in adwaita, enjoy all the bloat dependencies while also looking like alien bright white smartphone shit because how dare you wanting anything different from OUR theme! Don't forget we also once decided to go full retard with systemd so you had to jump through hoops to have our shit running on non-linux os, also we're doing the same with wayland because fuck you.
