/ptg/ - Private Trackers General Anonymous 04/17/2025 (Thu) 13:28:15 No. 17776
Refugee edition >Not sure what private trackers are all about? A private tracker is a torrent website that provides the same functionality as a public tracker but is invite-only. Each member share common goals: collecting, preserving and discussing media. >Have a question? - FAQ https://archive.is/UVQkn - WIKI https://igwiki.lyci.de/wiki/Private_trackers - STUDY https://www.cambridge.org/core/services/aop-cambridge-core/content/view/2F379FE0CB50DF502F0075119FD3E060 - SPREADSHEET https://hdvinnie.github.io/Private-Trackers-Spreadsheet/ - TEN CURRY COMMANDMENTS https://pastebin.com/raw/dBbdE73M - TEN NEON COMMANDMENTS https://pastebin.com/raw/Ud2pGYaE - IRC irc://irc.sageru.org#ptg >Remember the following: >READ THE OP BEFORE MAKING A FUCKING QUESTION YOU RETARDED FAGGOT >It doesn't matter if you use the same username in different trackers, the staff still share your IP with each other. >Staff is reading, being /marked/ is NOT a meme, and even if it is, it isn't. >Don't ask for invites, it's private for a reason. >If starting out you should interview for RED, rank to TM, wait on account age and get invites from there. THAT'S IT THAT IS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO >Bonus points are for hoarding, not for spending. >When the website dies, you will be able to migrate your bp and buffer to animeZ >the easiest way into trackers is a time machine >【NEWS】 >Torrentseeds shutting down
>>20216 BTN, AB shit all over nyaa.
usecase for private trackers?
>>20553 Longer retention Other than that public trackers mog private ones in terms of speed. Even ddl forums like cs.rin.ru are better
>>20559 >Other than that public trackers mog private ones in terms of speed What is that supposed to mean? The tracker itself doesn't have an impact on transfer speeds.
>>20581 Public trackers generally have better seeds when they have seeds because the seeds are actually seeding rather than trying to hit an upload ratio
Is there a path from BTN to HDB/PTP?
penis
>>20599 no/yes
See you soon!
>>20585 Public trackers generally have shit seeds that upload slowly except on very popular torrents. I guess if you like capeshit it's quite efficient. It can't beat private trackers where you have an orgy of seedboxes in every swarm for anything else. It's not just the quantity of seeds it's the quality of them.
>>20916 >literally seething Public seeds are seeding because they want to, which generally means that unless they're cycling they're uploading at full capacity Private seeds are seeding because they have to, which means that for obscure content they are often capping their upload to cover for the fact they're seeding hundreds or thousands of items
>>20939 I seed on both public and private and I don't cap anything. Public is useless if you have access to private. The speeds are shit. The retention, selection, and quality are shit. Yeah sure I do public trackers because of altruism and nothing else. Unlike you I'm not retarded enough to think downloading from the few people on public who manage to keep something seeded is better than downloading from 10 leaseweb seedboxes. Not many people are providing high quality bandwidth on public trackers. I'm the exception to the rule but I'm just one guy. On private trackers it's usually like 5-10 guys. Shit downloads fast even if it's not popular capeshit. That's the kind of downloading experience I want.
>>20941 You don't cap (though I doubt) but most people do as this content must be kept available at all times, meanwhile public seeds will either seed what they care about and leech otherwise with terrible "Ratios", or cycle seeds if they're seeding many rare items, this means that when there is a seed it is operating at full speed, as they are not forced to spread their bandwidth equally accross hundreds or thousands of items This is why a bunch of public torrents are """broken""" by the way, sometimes you have to wait for the seed to cycle back, retard gorrilla niggers don't have their one episode of weebshit RIGHT NOW (they're using torrents as a streaming service) and assume it's broken, it remains the case that failing to find what you want on public trackers is a skill issue
>>20942 It doesn't matter if one or two people cap because there are seedboxes in the swarm. Nobody is going to cap a fucking seedbox. I don't give a shit if some guy on his home connection caps his shit and farms bonus points because I will get fast downloads regardless. I don't cap my home connection or my seedbox. There's no reason to do so on private trackers because they are low traffic anyway. It's not like public trackers where I'm bleeding traffic to chinks and pajeets 24/7. Those motherfuckers don't seed back either. If I don't seed the torrents I put on public trackers they die. Most public shitters are allergic to seeding. They would rather die than leave their computer on. 75% of them have the cheapest internet plans their ISPs sell too. I see them leeching from me at abysmal speeds, sometimes complaining the files I posted that came from private trackers are too big for them. It's no surprise poor quality garbage like YTS is so popular with public shitters. They have no money to buy a fast connection or a hard drive.
POV: You seed a torrent on a public tracker that you assume would have zero appeal to a Chinese person. They download it from you at horrible speeds day and night anyway.
>>20944 You seed on public torrents because you want to, not because you have to, I've downloaded probably 80tb the past year and uploaded like 1, but of the things I seed I am the only seed, and I share them because it makes me happy to dp so, not because a faggot will squeeze my balls if I do not, this is the way, this has always been the way You also don't have to listen to retards, you don't even need to sign up to a gay public service, piracy is not supposed to be a social club
>>20947 I don't need to seed on private torrents either really. I have enough buffer for a lifetime. I could avoid downloading from trackers with seeding requirements in the majority of cases. I simply don't give a shit. That might be hard for a public shitter like you to understand. The only time I would ever remove a torrent from my client would be to free up space or if it has become a troublesome bandwidth hog. The latter only ever happens on public trackers. For example I shared some latex fetish porn someone on 4chan /t/ was looking for that I have no interest in at all. There would be like 5 chinks at a time leeching that torrent all day long. I don't think they even knew what it was. So I dumped it. Otherwise everything stays permaseeded. Not because it must be. I could remove it when the rules permitted. But because I don't care. I really don't care. It doesn't bother me at all to seed. I don't care if anybody is going to download what I am seeding either.
>>20949 >I don't care >makes multiple posts complaining about it Which is it nigger? Why don't you learn to cycle uploads like better pirates do?
>>20951 I can tell you all about the things in this world I don't give a shit about. They are numerous. I can also tell you why I don't give a shit. There's a rationale for everything. I don't need to cycle anything I have storage and bandwidth. I am not in this just to serve myself. I have access to nearly everything I could ever want in the best possible quality. Sharing with the public is a choice. Making things that are hard to find if you don't have access to private trackers easy to find. Artificial scarcity is stupid.
>>20954 While I'm glad you seed publically if you are being honest, I find myself confused by your raging "I don't care" posting, but you do you anon, if pajeet pooniggers and stinky chinks upset you there are ways to make life easier, even without rangebanning them
>>20961 I'm too lazy to rangeban them. I'd be happier if there was an option to ban clients like "XunLei" but qbittorrent doesn't seem to be able to do that. Besides sharing with others the only use I ever find for public trackers is downloading Linux ISOs. I seed those back too.
>>20964 If you rangeban them they come back with a vpn, if you rangecap them they don't come back
I am almost /setforlife/ with only BiB missing, are they really that much better than libgen and stuff?
>>20986 I'm not on bib, but I can't imagine what type of reader you have to be to not bet set for multiple lifetimes with libgen, #bookz and MAM.
so are we back on 4cuck niggers
>>21283 I'm watching both
wow, we have an IP counter here? 4chan could learn a few things...
>>21301 If you use 4chan-xt it restores the counter on boards with IDs by counting the number of them that posted in the thread. People on /pol/ are so retarded that they will reply to OP false flagging his own first post with a second post contradicting it though. It's funny that a board like that has IDs to combat shit like that but the posters are too fucking stupid to make use of it anyway.
>>18381 >>18361 Based torrent hero I kneel >>20213 Congrats anon
>15 buckos a month to watch TV without ads for any single 5-7 major streaming platforms that all have distinct standalone content >roughly half the price to watch 3-5 minutes of ads every hour Every day I get the urge to quit Spotify but they're the one platform I haven't made free. If I were really into torrenting the only subscription I'd need is the VPS. What tracker either public/private do you use for high quality music? I've played with yt-dlp is it much better than that?
>>21713 RED and OPS have flac for days
damn, this thread completely died after OG /ptg/ came back
>>23260 It's almost like private tracker tards are cum guzzling faggots
>>23392 sounds like projection to me
>>18257 I thought the whole point was that sekrit clubs help keep the bobbies out?
>>18326 >have no idea what you're talking about and need to shut the fuck up. Your input simply isn't needed in the private tracker general, nobody cares what you think at all. Wew laddy. I can feel the seething from here. The fag attempting to piss you off is nearly as bad, his attempts to piss you off are practically limp-dicked to anyone who's been on an imageboard for more than 5 minutes, but you bite the bait every time. >>20218 >Nothing to hide, nothing to fear Nah. I'm not doxxing myself to collect stuff comprehensively, let alone for simply making finding some media a little easier, and especially not to the kind of people that seem to talk up private trackers that I'm observing in this thread. I think I've satiated my curiousity about private trackers and will stick to regular torrenting instead of opening up my anus IP just to pirate shit. As much as I wish I could find a version of Oban Star Racers in English and/or French that isn't 480p, it's just not worth it. >Muh new anime is shit Shit that's popular tends to be trash based on appealing to the lowest common denominator of shit taste. This isn't unique to weebshit and modern degradation has hit everything. >>23392 >>23522 As a chance passerby, yeah, that seems to be the case. People who give out their bare IP while engaging in illegal activities online would definitely be the kind of subhumans that don't care about all the shit 4chan does and give cuckchan their bare IP as long as it's "the place to be". I always assumed private trackers were the "proper" way to pirate for people that aren't N00bz like me, but everything I've seen in this thread tells me it's gay as shit and would compromise what little OPSEC I have.
