I have been lurking since I made the "refuge" thread here, but I've been actively absorbing information as it comes in. Slower threads don't bother me.

I'm here because either 4Chan staff 1) are either incompetent and can't handle spam attacks without captcha timers that are broken half the time and periodically range banning half the users, or 2) they're running experiments on their users for some nefarious purpose. Since anons are sharing their experiences I feel obligated to share mine aswell. I just got tired of online forums for a few reasons, and social media was pretty dead for me for years, naturally imageboards are my next best thing and also I was playing STEINS;GATE and the game unironically sold me on the concept of imageboards as it heavily features a fictional one in the game's story. So I tried 4chan because that's the one I know, I quickly realized either it or my ISP blocks posting messages there, so I can only view and lurk, unable to contribute. Leading me to here. From the 2 or 3 times I visited 4chan, it seemed to me a little *too* fast than what is digestable. Now I wish 8chan was a just a tiny bit more active, but its alright for now. I do enjoy the on-site 'anonymous' concept in these imageboards, feels like this is what social media should be really, no room for fake show off bullshit that's borderline bipolar depression syndrome or dissociative identity disorder in some instances. Just raw discussion and emphasis on the subject not the object (most of the time). Since I'm mostly here for game discussions though, I do occasionally feel a little disconnect when I see messages from other topics, some are legally a little out there, let's say. I only say this because of the paranoia of feeling like I could be picked up in some list somewhere just by apparent association only.
