I someitmes inpaint at 1500x1500 with denoise at ~0.3 to increase the detail on things like eyes and faces. For big changes i inpaint before upscaling. you can upscale in the img2img tab with settings like 2nd pic, but you'll want to set it up first by going to settings >> upscaling >> upscaler for img2img and selecting the upscaler you want. I use 4x_foolhardy_remacri which you can find here https://huggingface.co/FacehugmanIII/4x_foolhardy_Remacri/tree/main To install it you just need to put the .pth files into your SD files with the path root\models\ESRGAN assuming you're not on comfyui. you can use whatever upscaler you want though. You can also inpaint on bigger images by using the inpaint only masked setting which works by cropping out the images and img2imging it at the resolution you specify. the only issue is if the model cant see enough fo your image it wont know exactly what it's supposed to do so you can give it more image to work with by increasing Only masked padding, pixels or by using this little janky method i use https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/70952818/#70958130 If i were you this would be all way too overwhelming so you dont really need to worry about all that, just set up img2img upscaling and you should be good. I like img2img upscaling because you can just upscale like 6 versions of the same pic and pick out the best one instead of just having to make do with the 1 hires fix gives you.

Do you guys use the same amount of steps when inpainting compared to genning? I've used 30 steps on gen and 26 on inpaint. Also, do you use the full prompt from the txt2img when doing inpaints, or do you just use specific tags on what you want to change in the pic?

Alright, I removed the background noise, got rid of the smallest images and limited the grids to 2x2. It's not as consistent as I thought it would be and that last step might have done more harm than good, but the style is there.
