Huh, I thought 8ch went down for hours (twice today) because of traffic, because I was getting various connection errors, but it turns out using a different browser, different browser profile, or even just restarting the browser fixes it. Anyone know what the fuck is up with that?

How this translates to storage costs, actual traffic costs, or if these numbers even mean anything (considering we're dealing with time series which are a bit funky), I don't know.

I'm really curious about what happens next, once 4ch does come up? Hoping that it does mean a proper update, outside of the security stuff ofc. Especially with upping the file max amount, after the fix. But also what would happen with the threads here? 4chan is apparently coming back soon, so I'm going to ask an unprompted question. What should the future of /gmad/ be? Should it stay here, go back to 4/trash/, or stay here, but create an actual /gmad/ board? I got to thinking about how might work as its own board. It could have specialized threads; ones for Elites, ones for Barons, ones for Yautja, threads for fiction and writing, a dedicated drawthread for the two artists who post here :^). If you're worried about the casual discussion dying, 8/v/ has something called a "lounge" thread where Anons talk in a free-form manner. That could be copied. It would of course be much slower than a general, but it could also act as an art archive instead of the relatively ephemeral nature of threads on 4chan. 8chan has a lot more features that are conducive to an actual community, and I don't see 4chan implementing any of them. Think about it. Maybe instead of "going home", it's time to redefine where "home" is.

It /gmad/ was more active then it was a full board of it could be neat, but it isn't, so a thread on 4chan is def better. Still, we don't even know when it's coming back up, could be tomorrow could be next month, so we'll seem. On a note unrelated to the thread's future, my mind has been occupied with the idea of oiling up a scaly gmad. They already look nice, but imagine them all polished up with their scales practically glistening in the light.

I have no idea if this is hot or cringe. It may be both.

4chan is back, what's the final take on /gmad/'s future? I was talking with some anons in /v/'s Doom thread inviting them here, they said 8chan has had boards similar to /gmad/ in the past, but died to some kind of site drama. So it has been successfully done, just something to think about.

I prefer this site over 4chan because I'm actually able to post here. Don't know about the whole /gmad/ board thing, probably not enough people here for that to work.
