The phrase "let frisk live their life" is completely meaningless if frisk is supposed to be a standard blank-slate protagonist. Also, Chara specifically states "we are not the same" during genocide, so they probably aren't a representation of the player.

Frisk in this case represents the living and breathing character of this world, so when you elevate everyone, so are they. That's why Flowey begs to Chara, because at that point only the representation of raw game remains. Meanwhile Chara says that at the end of genocide, when you indulge your desire of the raw gameplay of the world at the cost of its inhabitants. At that point, the character that represents the gameplay loop itself manifest as the world around dies. When Chara says that line to Frisk, as they specifically mention the soul that CANNOT be the player. This would be far more simple if Underrune fans realized a "player" is represented by BOTH humans. In the end of pacifist, Frisk goes to live their life while Chara remains. In genocide, Chara manifest while Frisk sells their remaining humanity. But for some reason, the idea of being two characters is impossible to understand for Undertale fans, so they need to insert a third entity in the game to remove all agency from the characters and world.
