If someone were hypothetically translating a VN where characters used the English phrase "super darling", which is Japanese slang for perfect husband material (i.e. a man who is tall, athletic, handsome, rich, can cook and clean, basically perfect in every way, etc), do you prefer if >the phrase super darling is left as is, considering it's literally English words >the phrase super darling is localized to something like 'my perfect husbando' to better convey what it actually means (and you won't get mad at hearing an English phrase but the translation being something else, which many people often do) Just curious.

If they're supposed to be westerners then I wouldn't expect them to use the phrase "super darling" since it doesn't portray the same meaning. You would need a good ENG equivalent to match the same feel of the original word in JP. This is then further given more depth by whether the character is supposed to be corny or a weeb, and so they would use "perfect husbando" instead of something more normie-speak instead.
