Has anyone actually bought any of these things? Particularly the "cabinet" ones like the Astro City and the Neo Geo? The reason why I'm asking is that I just found out about the Astro City Mini, and was considering getting one when I saw the game line-up on it (Particularly Shinobi and Virtua Fighter). The only ones I know to avoid like the plague are the My Arcade brand, because they're just NES ports and not the original games, and the Tiny Arcade brand, because the little trinkets are far too small to be of any real enjoyment and the games run like shit. But, how do any of these other things compare?

They make for great gifts but the limited game libraries are a definite drawback. In most cases one would be better off with emulation.
