/vyt/ and tower PPD for 10/25 (UTC+0). /vyt/: 3822 PPD -10% DoD +0% WoW +37% MoM tower: 14696 PPD +9% DoD -6% WoW +23% MoM /vyt/ had a busy day, but fell below 4k. Tower had an average day. Estimated PPD for /vt/ was 38448, busy post-hack. Combined total for all three boards was 56966 PPD.
/vyt/ had 1058 PPH from 00:00-01:00 UTC+0, and 1181 PPH from 01:00-02:00 UTC+0. Gonna be a big night.
>>909565 No surprise there since Phase threads are the most active on the board and there are debuts tonight. Jannies even stickied /pcg/.
Argh. Trying to figure out how to filter to count unique SCs. hololyzer did something between 2022 and 2023 that's preventing a straightforward copy-paste of the info into excel/sheets. Instead of spreading data across 7 columns, everything* gets its own row. Theoretically, every n+11 rows would grab the name and original currency. Information like (2times) and (3times), etc. would still be available to use. However, SCs where the original currency was yen uses only 1 row instead of 2. So, a simple n+11 lookup wouldn't work. Even worse, not all of the information is copied over. It skips SCs every now and then leading to incomplete data. Currently, I'm just printing each "page" of SCs as a pdf, then converting into word, then copying the relevant data into excel. >PDF to Word Directly converting pdfs to spreadsheets has issues with the summary table, headers, and footnotes. This step is annoying since I have to highlight, copy, and paste from word to the spreadsheet, but it prevents some future issues. >When is it "worth it" Doing this whole mess instead of hand-counting usually isn't worth it. Anything under 3-4 pages should be faster hand-counting than digital. However, passed that, it just feels too prone to error. Time to sleep and hopefully have something interesting out tomorrow.

/vyt/ and tower PPD for 10/26 (UTC+0). /vyt/: 7982 PPD +208% DoD +238% WoW +287% MoM tower: 13864 PPD -6% DoD -24% WoW -6% MoM /vyt/ had a monster day on the back of the Phase debuts, up over 200% across the board. This was in fact the highest PPD I've recorded for /vt/, though I'm missing data before 5/4/25. Tower had an average to below-average day. Estimated PPD for /vt/ was 53190, very high post-hack, about a 15k increase over yesterday compared to 4k on /vyt/. It looks like that despite /vyt/ peeling off a large minority of the Phase fanbase, /vt/ still retains the vast majority. Combined total for all three boards was 75036 PPD.
>>915175 it's probably not accurate to attribute all of that 15k to the actual /vt/ phase fanbase notable debuts get a lot of tourism, maybe some of them stay

>Source hololyzer Well, the workaround didn't work. So this was manually done. Data should be treated with some margin for error. hololyzer changed the way it records SCs at least twice. Once between Coco and Sana, and once between Sana and the rest. Both Coco and Sana was processed digitally. Duplicates were removed using excel. >Coco hololyzer kept direct links to user accounts, so I was able to convert usernames to urls to filter for duplicates. >Sana hololyzer had usernames and icons, so the two were used together to filter for duplicates. Given that the data had the second highest Unique SCs/Total SCs received ratio, data feels relatively "safe". There might be some error, but it should not vary too wildly. >Rest These were all done manually. The save to pdf, convert pdf to word, and then copy tables over to excel did not work. Tried fiddling with some python script, but I only have a intermediate-level ability at reading code and even lower ability at writing it, so went back to manual. The remaining graduates/affiliates had 4-24 pages of SCs. I relied on the hololyzer's (xtimes) following a username to count multiple SCs. There is bound to be some human error here. This is most likely when there are multiple pages+varied currencies+no currency being the super-majority of SCs. So while Aqua might have 24 pages, it being mostly Yen actually made it less likely to result in counting errors. The EN members though meant that instead of having streaks of a certain currency, various currencies would pop up. >Data and graphs I will reply with 2 charts and 3 graphs. The two charts will be all the data as percentages with some coloring for different intervals. The 3 graphs will include an 8-categories stacked bar graph comparing the quantity of unique SC senders, an 8-categories and a 5-categories stack bar graph showing proportionally which category the SC senders were from.

>>917730 >Explanation Unique SCs for each graduates and affiliates' final streams. Data from hololyzer. >Disclaimer I do believe some of them had members' streams close to the final streams, so that could influence the final count. Possible human errors as mentioned above. SCs should only be treated as a proxy for where fans are located. Developed fan bases are more likely to send SCs, developing ones are less likely. >Images As stated above, but just to repeat. Image 1 - 8-categories stacked bar graph to compare the quantity of SC senders Image 2 - 8-categories stacked bar graph to compare proportionally which category the SC senders were from Image 3 - 5 categories stacked bar graph to compare proportionally which category the SC senders were from Image 4 - Summary data used to generate each graph Image 5 - Data after determining number of unique SCs converted into a percentage for each currency type >Separate Note - Important to look at the difference in just the number of SCs sent in total. Both Gura and Mumei had similar or even greater CCV than Ame and Fauna, but the latter two double in unique SCs sent. Similar thing happens to Chloe and Shion. Similar CCV, but Chloe doubles Shion. So, nothing conclusive about audiences, but adds to the patterns and trends. >Observations - There's some cool "history" here. Coco is the only to receive both RUB (Russian Rubles) and HRK (Croatian Kunas). Her graduation was in 2021. In March 2022, YouTube suspended payment-service for Russian users. In 2023, Croatia adopted the Euro. We can also see the effects of Cover's focus in SEA. Starting with Sana, we get the appearance of IDR (Indonesian Rupiahs). With Aqua, we see THB (Thai Bahts) and VND (Vietnamese Dongs). These are all notable because they make up 1-7% of the unique SCs counted (EN member had higher amounts). - I am surprised by the overall low presence of KRW (Korean Won). Might be looking at numbers from the current Promise members too much though. - For Unique Currencies, Coco has the most varied at 47, followed by Ame at 45, and Sana at 42. Shion had the least varied at 22, followed by Chloe at 27 and Mumei at 36. The mean was 37.7 unique currencies. Shion and Chloe being so low is kind of surprising. Shion might be the result of her hiatuses. The two might also be affected by not being the most "internationally-exposed" JP members when compared to Coco and Aqua. - For Unique SCs/Total SCs sent, Mumei had the highest proportion of unique SCs at 92.55%, followed by Sana at 91.87%, and Gura at 90.90%. For lowest proportion, Fauna is first at 83.45%, followed by Chloe at 87.11%, and Aqua at 88.03%. "Don't average percentages!" Oops, the mean was 89.45%. Fauna's is heavily influenced by "Snails" sent around when she began every stream. Things like "Rainbows" also decrease the percentage (7 colors, so one individual would send at least 7 SCs, but they'd be only counted once). - Chloe had the largest proportion of SC senders from JP at 88.43%. Shion comes in second at 83.25% and Aqua at 79.25%. - Ame had the most NA senders (USA and Canada) at 55.54%. Fauna comes in second at 55.47% and Sana at 53.03%. - Coco had the most Taiwan and Hong Kong SC senders at 21.72%. Gura comes in second at 19.87% and Mumei at 12.20%. I wonder what proportion of these senders are from China. Numbers also support Cover's decision for those Gura Sushiro collabs. - Fauna had the most European SC senders at 11.51%, followed by Sana at 8.75%, and Gura at 8.42%. >5 Categories - For Latin America (probably a better category out there for American countries excluding USA and Canada), Ame stands out at 7.65%. - For SEA, Mumei is the highest at 13.96%, Ame at 11.55%, and Fauna at 9.63%. EN members are overall higher. There's a joke here about it being more worth Cover's resources to debut an EN gen than an ID gen to expand in SEA. Counter here would be to point to the TW+HK amounts. - For EN+Europe, Fauna is first at 70.12%, then Sana at 65.74%, and Ame at 63.05%. - For East Asia, Chloe is first at 94.34%, then Shion at 91.44%, and Aqua at 89.61%.
>>917731 Oops, missed a bit of context. If we refer to the chart at the bottom of image 4 though, we get close to the "raw numbers". These numbers put the percentages more into context. Like for TW+HK, Coco is still first, but now Aqua is second. Ame also received 50% more than Gura.
>>915140 Today /vyt/ had 408 users, down from 436 users yesterday. Today's sitewide PPH high was 887 posts, down from 1598 posts yesterday. The PPH low was around 299 posts, down from around 323 posts yesterday.
/vyt/ and tower PPD for 10/27 (UTC+0). /vyt/: 4149 PPD -49% DoD +37% WoW +30% MoM tower: 10541 PPD -24% DoD -22% WoW -40% MoM /vyt/ had a busy day above 4k, though it was obviously way down over yesterday's massive highs. Tower had a very slow day, just a few hundred posts above post-hack lows. Estimated PPD for /vt/ was 40005, very high post-hack. Combined total for all three boards was 54695 PPD.
>>919295 Today /vyt/ had 420 users, up from 408 users yesterday. Today's sitewide PPH high was 944 posts, up from 887 posts yesterday. The PPH low was around 284 posts, down from around 299 posts yesterday.
/vyt/ and tower PPD for 10/28 (UTC+0). /vyt/: 3769 PPD -10% DoD +6% WoW -16% MoM tower: 16068 PPD +52% DoD +20% WoW -24% MoM /vyt/ had a fairly busy day, though nothing special by recent standards. Tower had an above-average day, in fact one the busier days lately. Estimated PPD for /vt/ was 40334, another very high day. Combined total for all three boards was 60171 PPD.
>>923373 So barring large events seems like here is stabilized to 2.5-3.5kish, tower is low to mid teens, and /vt/ is mid 30s. Given the trends I think that tower and 8chan will probably just continue to slowly lose users while /vt/ stays pretty static. /vt/ in general can attract new users easier as it's part of 4chan and is the largest but here and tower likely aren't getting many people that aren't already /vt/ users. That's probably only a trickle too as it's six months out post hack and the people who wanted to move already have done so.
>>923432 /vyt/ has actually inclined over the past month, it was only below 3k five days so far, I would put the broad range at 2.5k-4.5k. Tower has slowed down over the past few months, barring a late rally October will be the first month since April without a day above 20k. /vt/ has also inclined a bit, especially over the past couple weeks, after spending a couple months in the low 30k range. /vt/ was very successful because it pulled in a lot of people who were not already 4chan users. That's why the split happened in the first place, while all of the other boards recovered almost entirely after the hack. It's the most active of the three boards, but it's also way down from its heights, a couple years ago it was average around 80k and was threatening to overtake /v/, now it's unusual to get even half of that and it's fallen below /b/. And 4chan itself has been in decline for a decade with no end in sight, a few years ago it had >1M PDD, now it's 600k. I think, barring a big change in the vtuber scene, the overall trajectory will be one of decline for all three boards. Tower can possibly cement itself as the primary Hololive board, and can bring in new users when EN5 debuts, but the scene is bigger than just Holo now and its strict rules prevent it from ever truly replacing /vt/. /vyt/ probably has the biggest challenges of the three, because growth basically requires /vt/ thread to voluntarily move, which as far as I can tell hasn't happened in months, if it's gained any at all since the hack.
On November 20th Hololive will be doing a big promotion with Twitch. https://x.com/hololive_En/status/1983353095406104718
>>923712 >>924344 We'll see how this plays out. Twitch might de declining, but it is still one of the biggest streaming platform. If you really believe the site is going to die, it might be a good idea just to advertise yourself on it before the site's audience has to go elsewhere for entertainment. Also, while it's a "growing opportunity" for hololive, it's probably limited for Twitch. Instead, it might be an opportunity for holomems to offer a "substitute" product. It'll depend on whether this becomes a "thing" though.
>>924594 Twitch is still by far the biggest livestreaming platform, especially in English. Youtube appears bigger but that's because it includes a ton of things that aren't actually livestreamers. The top channels on Youtube right now are a Brazilian radio station (playing music), a Brazilian soccer channel, and a Filipino TV network. Twitch is about double the size of Youtube's gaming streams, and totally hegemonic on the English side of gaming. I guess it's possible Amazon will unceremoniously pull the plug one day, but it's not because they're losing audience.

Tower also had a busy day, one of the busiest this month. Estimated PPD for /vt/ was 41164 PPD, very busy and its fourth day in a row above 40k. Combined total for all three boards was 62887 PPD.
/vyt/ and tower PPD for 10/30 (UTC+0). /vyt/: 4210 PPD +4% DoD +20% WoW +50% MoM tower: 19370 PPD +9% DoD +34% WoW +63% MoM /vyt/ had another strong day over 4k. Tower also had a strong day, the second-busiest in October, though still below 20k. Estimated PPD for /vt/ was 42074 PPD, very busy post-hack. If the board can keep it up, it'll reach a week above 40k soon. Combined total for all three boards was 65654 PPD.

>>931348 Today /vyt/ had 388 users, down from 444 users yesterday. The last time the board dipped below 400 users was 10/20. Today's sitewide PPH high was 917 posts, down from 959 posts yesterday. The PPH low was around 308 posts, up from around 269 posts yesterday.
/vyt/ and tower PPD for 10/31 (UTC+0). /vyt/: 3779 PPD -11% DoD -11% WoW N/A MoM tower: 17118 PPD -12% DoD +27% WoW N/A MoM /vyt/ fell below 4k, but was still above-average even by recent standards. The board only fell below 3k four times this month, compared with 16 times in September and 9 times in August. Tower had a busy day, though it was down a bit from yesterday. It didn't set any record lows this month, but it was down from the massive highs we've seen in previous months. Estimated PPD for /vt/ was 41607 PPD, another very busy day. Tomorrow would be a week above 40k, and the board has only fallen below 35k once in the last two weeks, and even then only barely. Combined total for all three boards was 62504 PPD.
>>923551 >I think, barring a big change in the vtuber scene, the overall trajectory will be one of decline for all three boards. Tower can possibly cement itself as the primary Hololive board, and can bring in new users when EN5 debuts, but the scene is bigger than just Holo now and its strict rules prevent it from ever truly replacing /vt/. If you look at the composition of Hololive psoting between Tower and /vt/ it seems that Tower really only captured primarily old global users. /jp/'s thread is still pretty active and /vt/ still has quite few Advent and Justice posters. The advent and justice splits are generally more active on /vt/ from the looks of it. Honestly, if anything, I expect EN5 to give Holoposting on /vt/ a second wind over cementing Tower. The truth will probably end up somewhere in the middle though.
>>935129 Today /vyt/ had 379 users, down from 388 users yesterday. Today's sitewide PPH high was 935 posts, up from 917 posts yesterday. The PPH low was around 275 posts, down from around 308 posts yesterday.

Tower had an above-average day. Estimated PPD for /vt/ was 42647 PPD, another very strong day, the 7th in a row above 40k. Combined total for all three boards was 62348 PPD.
>>938682 That's fair, though /hlgg/ was, while not the majority, at least a plurality of Hololive posts on /vt/. >>939695 I've noticed /vyt/ has a noticeable dip in users on Saturdays, even when it has strong PPD. Presumably this is because of more people staying home and therefore less phoneposting (or just posting from home wifi). This seems to be the only day like this, I don't see the same consistent pattern on Sundays, or if it exists it's very subtle.
>>939695 Today /vyt/ had 410 users, up from 379 users yesterday. Today's sitewide PPH high was 1116 posts, up from 935 posts yesterday. The PPH low was around 206 posts, down from around 275 posts yesterday.
