>>129996 (OP) advent is now the face of hololive. thats kinda weird to think about.
>>129996 (OP) I'm done with Hololive. HoloEN 2.0 is boring garbage and I'm sick of dealing with fucking nips and le heckin passion English/Japanese.
>>129996 (OP) I moved but still follow before council
>>129996 (OP) Switched over to pink cat d Vshojo a long time ago. You can tell the difference between a company that stifles the creativity of its talents just because they model their business model to idol culture in an autistic fashion and another who doesn't give a fuck about that. For some reason Japs and SEA love that, which explains why Kson lost a lot of Japanese viewers when she switched over while still maintaining the majority of her English speaking fans.
>>130068 >le heckin passion English/Japanese It always makes me cringe so much when someone attempts to speak a language poorly. Especially if they have another language to fall back on. When it’s a “language learning stream” where they both know English but one of them is trying to string a sentence together in another language… it’s so fucking cringe. Is it common to feel this way? I know some people would say it’s cute or whatever, but I can’t watch it…
>>129996 (OP) The only holo that left recently that actually streamed was Fauna. No one that still watches holo will care for Gura and Mumei's departure.
Stopped with Fauna, haven't regretted it.
>>129996 (OP) Yes, Gura was no longer my oshi by year 2 of her not streaming, Watame took her place.
>>130200 Pink cat isn't in vshojo you faggot, your bait is more than 2 years out of date.
Also Kshit got what she deserved and inshallah if there is a God then Gura will also run out of money and beg for dick in the streets. Both of them were arrogant whores, Kshit was riding high for about a year on a wave of fuck china bucks and then threw it all away because it was 'hard', but I get it, anything to end the zhangswarm, but then she was salty about the loss of viewership/dollaridoos. These whores always think their tits are the most interesting thing in the universe and then get shocked when that's not true.
>>130312 >Pink cat AND Vshojo I know they're separate you asshole, I just made a typo. I watch Nyanners, and from Vshojo, Haru (untill hiatus), Matara along with a bit of Zen and Michi. Collabs are always fun because I feel the girls all have a much more natural dynamic. Also they're free to stream with pretty much whoever they care except for with other corpos which requires permission from management.
>>130205 I mean it's essentially like watching two babies gugugaga at each other. I guess it was endearing back in 2020/2021, but it's just stupid at this point.
>>130322 Your opinion is discarded because your brown and follow a pedophile prophet so nobody gives a fuck what you think.
Already stopped a while ago. Will give Senzawa a chance when she comes back.
>>130068 >I'm sick of dealing with fucking nips and le heckin passion English/Japanese. If that's what you think, you were never a fan. Get filtered.
>>129996 (OP) yes Biboo, CC and GG are better than Gura ever was
Will Senzawa get a new model considering her old one is a copy of an anime character?
>>129996 (OP) I quit watching hololive after they baited lonely fags with girls that stream solo, only for them to completely turn it around and start spamming male gens after Luxiem exploded on Niji EN side. Then they needed help of the girls to promote those useless faggots and all the tranny redditors flooded the fanbase to "defend the girls from crazy unicorns!" Hololive is a shell of what it once was.
>>130436 Who do you watch now?
>>130322 based
>>130398 Yes, I prefer to understand what the anime girl on the monitor is saying. Shocker, I know.
>>130449 There are plenty of streams where they don't speak only japanese, but you do you.
>>130470 I don't know why you think I want to listen to a person speak broken English. Whatever. The Western indie scene is far bigger than HoloEN at this point, and it's growing.
i switched to indies in 2022
>>130394 The asshurt from Holofags when she does AND later starts doing collaborating with Doobs, Nyanners Nimi along with other indies as well as Vshojo will be glorious.
>>129996 (OP) I'm primarily a Phase watcher but I started out as a chumbie, and only stopped watching Gura after it became evident that the hiatuses aren't a temporary condition. Basically I'd be more that willing to watch Sen if she decides to go that route. When it comes to HoloEN the JP corpo autism went too far. That and the whole maleshit situation where they pushed them hard really soured me on HoloEN. I respect Kiara and will give her a watch, but apart from that as a whole there's not much reason to watch HoloEN since all the talent is now either indie or in small corpos. Both Nijisanji and Hololive somehow managed to shoot themselves in the foot and filter themselves from what I'd consider "serious vtubing."
>>130512 >Nyanners >VShojo You sound like someone who never watched a Gura stream in his life.
>>130512 who the hell collabs with Nyanners besides her bf?
>>130322 >inshallah kys mudslime
>>129996 (OP) I wonder what the last Holo stream I watched was. You never think of that in the moment, like "this will be the last stream, I better pick a good one." It was probably an unarchived karaoke. I used to love Hololive so much, then all my favorites that streamed in the American evenings kinda... stopped. And so I drifted away, first to Phase and then to smaller orgs/indies that suit me better. There's only so far that blind love can carry you, it took exposure to build the bond, and the lack of slowly erodes it. Actually, I think I'll tune in for Mumei's graduation, I always liked her. That'll make a fine last stream to close the Hololive chapter.
Yeah, I still watch because because I like several of the JP girls. EN wise I still like Ina, CC, GG, Raora, and Biboo. I took the indie pill as well and watch Laimu and Snuffy
>>130440 Now I just watch whoever streams something interesting and not just FOTM slop. I love Ayamy mama's cooking, ASMR and fuck around streams. Ui mama is also an amazing streamer when she is just fucking around and being silly. It is insane how charismatic that woman is.
>>130350 It says a lot that the JP member with the best English is a fucking Korean. Incredibly embarrassing for Japan.
(1.68 KB 112x112 1728273368429.png)

I stopped watching holoshit
>>129996 (OP) EN is just sex jokes and shipping bait now there's nothing unique about it
>>129996 (OP) I stopped watching Hololive back in 2020
I didn't normally watch streamers because you have to spend hours following some guy for 1 or 2 funny moments but there was something about the Hololive ecosystem that captivated me. Now that most of the interactions/projects between the girls I followed are gone it's probably a good time to drop out although I've already been watching less and less over the past year. I don't have much interest in watching anything else streaming related. I might stick around the community to see if I can catch any gossip for even a hint of finding out what the fuck happened behind the scenes.
>>129996 (OP) Took the indie pill a few years ago. It feels nice, knowing my $$ all goes to the streamer that actually needs it instead of some nameless executives and shareholders. I still watch holo when there's a big event like GTA. But I don't donate and buy their merch anymore.
>>129996 (OP) Still holo. Nobody i cared about left.
>>129996 (OP) if anything, I'll avoid watching traitorous, lazy whores who ditched the company that put them on the map only because it actually started demanding they work for their ridiculous paychecks
>>130322 Accurate id color
>>130580 found the j-ew
>>130481 >(((western))) indie scene
(95.68 KB 1280x1280 1745377156419.jpg)

That's a pretty meaningless difference. You either watch a chuuba as an individual or you watch a box or both. "Indie unity" is an oxymoron because there's no box encompassing all indies. For example, I watch Nagi from VShojo and some Michi yaps but I couldn't care about the VShojo box. With Holo I double dip: I watch Ina, IRyS, Suisei and Kronii as individual chuubas as well as a part of the box. Some Holo JPs I only watch during box events. To answer your real question, that is "How many ex-holofans leaving the box together with Nimi and notGura will start discovering true indies?" - not many if at all. EN true indies on youtube are rare, and people won't go to twitch. Not that they are interested in true indies to begin with. The holo box and the ex-holo box still overlap to a very large degree, although it's about to diminish with chumbuds leaving.
>>129996 (OP) She's not gonna stream, man. All her personal issues are still going to ruin her. Only a millionaire can save her.
(1.09 MB 1372x1367 1743097964235221.png)

Surely she is going to stream as an indie, surely
>>131608 A millionaire? Are you saying... Gura who is the only one who can save herself?
Probably done with hololive, the only girls left that I have interest in are Irys and CC. I will still probably watch them from time to time but I'm not invested enough in either of them to drag me into the whole holosphere.
>>130322 Absolutely based, I kneel my king.
mainly a manjigumi and the goob enjoyer so that leaves only ayame… feels like i haven’t watched much this year other than shion’s streams and holofes
(386.41 KB 925x609 3543647.jpg)

>>129996 (OP) I'm still eating good.
>>129996 (OP) I started watching Hololive long before EN even existed, my oshi is and will always be in Hololive, and I don't plan to chase random western whores into the cesspool of indie Gomorrah.
>>131572 Based.
>>129996 (OP) >Mint >Nimi >Shondo >Suzu (technically not indie) This is my non-Holo lineup right now. Mint is my main. Suzu and Shondo cover each other in the same niche, so I watch everything they do. I only watch Nimi based on content. For Holos, I have Marine, Subaru, and Luna on JP, in that order. FWMC and sometimes Biboo on EN.
>>129996 (OP) I plan to only continue watching vtubers I enjoy, and at the moment that's only Biboo and the Phase lolis. I just can't care much more at this point. Indies are annoying to keep track of on Holodex anyway.
>>132086 get a job
>>130449 holy fuck you niggers are disgusting at this point you probably watch anime with engrish dub
Never watched Holo EN. I got to see a glorious few months of vtubing until it was burned down by males. Almost everyone I watch now are ex-corpo or EN corpo outside of the Brave umbrella girls.
>>132353 they do lol
>>130068 this is a weeb hobby for people who love japan and the japanese language
>>132729 It might surprise you that there are people watching vtubers and never watched anime before. I know, I was shocked too.
>>132729 That used to be the case, now every Twtich girl with 0 ties to anime just puts on a vtuber avatar to hide how ugly she is looking.
>>129996 (OP) I will not follow senwaza, had she been her pre holo or early holo gura levels of enthusiasm i would but it's more likely that she will come back, get "burned out" and do the same membership farming she did in holo but without cover taking a cut.
I don't care about hololive now that Mooms, fauna and goomba left
>>130522 You sound like someone who never knew Senzawa.
I hope she doesn't go to Senezawa I pray she gets a new model, A slime girl Vtuber. and she calls herself goob/goober/gooba. Would be funny.
Hololive is fucking dead to me. They should have let Gura have any song she wants, do react slop, whatever it takes to make her happy. She IS hololive. I'll never watch any of them again. Gotta go oshi hunting I suppose.
>>136933 Senzawa was a stupid kid doing stupid things, that was desperate for attention. I can't see her ever going back to being like that. She's just not that person anymore.
>>138791 >She IS hololive Hololive EN, maybe, sure. JP is still fine. Hololive is way too popular in japan to really be affected.
>>138822 and yet before Gura, even holo JP were a bunch of unknown shitters. Their sub count started skyrocketing because of the exposure Gura gave them. I think people forget just how weak hololive was pre-EN.

>>138791 >She IS hololive lol >>138822 >Hololive EN lmao
I watch Phase and will continue to watch who I like from Hololive. Just because a few drop doesn't mean you abandon the rest fucking retards. If your favorite does leave then of course you are watching them as an indie when they stream. The fact is most of the time the girls who graduate don't have the time to invest into vtubing that often anymore. So the only time you would feel bad is if you never learned to deal with loss or haven't been enjoying the time to the fullest.
>>138791 >do react slop You can blame that on the choombies, in return they got ghosted as they deserved.
>>129996 (OP) Not like those who graduated except for maybe Fauna were streaming lots to begin with. Ame, Gura and Mumei were all barely hanging on for years. Now if FWMC or Bijou or Kaela graduated I would probably stop watching Holo entirely.
>>129996 (OP) I stopped after they terminated Mel. It was the right call.
My oshi used to stream so much I didn't have time to watch other members of hololive, but the problems in her life kept piling up until she barely streamed at all. Even after her regular activities ended and she started to do stuff as an independant, it seems like she's still streaming on an irregular schedule. I was still super happy to see her in Kiara's concert the other day though.
>>129996 (OP) Yeah, the only graduate-turned-indie I'm still watching is Mint, the rest really aren't as good without the corpo environment.
It's hard to imagine watching the remainder of EN. I had started watching Hololive when there was only JP, and if not for FWMC and IRyS I would just pretend EN doesn't exist. ENReco starts in a few days. We'll see how that goes. I'm watching Nimi right now. Tapir love. NotGura has my attention if she actually intends to stream. There are some good indie streamers, though sifting through junk to find them is a pain.
>>129996 (OP) I never started i don't like corpos
(740.51 KB 1002x1080 pikamee gun.png)

>>129996 (OP) I only watch clips
>>157895 I watch like 2 girls from phase connect panko and pippa. And used to watch vshojo until nyanners left. Iv never watched any hololive content.
>>157904 I avoid Japanese content company's to controlling. To easy to become black companys like Anycolor.
>>157895 Also nice henya the genius picture What a great kettle.
I dont really see a reason to stop.
>>132729 While I may like anime, I do not care for Japan, its culture or its language. I started watching Kizuna AI because I thought it was really cool how she moved and her 3d model moved to match her, including even her face. The only reasons I'm learning Japanese is because it's useful for IT and I found this cool Japanese Beekeeping channel that teaches about bees. The language is only interesting as a comparison to my own. I do not care about Japan, it leaves me as indifferent as knowing that the sun will set today and rise tomorrow.
>>129996 (OP) I was watching virtual youtubers before HoloEN and will continue to do so as long as there are fun streams regardless of graduations.
If she goes to Twitch then yeah im not following her.
Bugman detected
>>129996 (OP) Yes to your first question. If I follow some ex-holos after they graduate, would I be following the indie scene more if I only follow their the only "non-holos" I follow? If the answer is yes, then yes to your second question.
>>129996 (OP) I already watch smaller corpo and indies, but my oshi is still in Hololive, so I'll still watch.
>>161361 a bit of a strange stance to have. much of anime is rooted in Japanese culture. that's a lot of the reason that anime is how it is in the first place. though admittedly I've noticed that this is becoming less true lately. particularly it feels like anime and manga that don't have much to do with japan directly are more common and more popular than they used to be. still, it almost feels like a contradiction to like anime but not care at all for Japanese culture. in my case, I'd never want to live there or even visit if I'm being honest, but I still think it's cool
The age of vtubers is over. Now is the time of getting head irl.
>>129996 (OP) Yes. I will keep watching Hololive. And I will watch Phase Connect. And I will watch indies. My love for Hololive is not deterred by my love for Gura, my love for Gura is not deterred by her graduation, and my love for vtubing is not deterred by the separation between them.
>& & who?!?
>>129996 (OP) I never got that attached to buy merch while I do mostly for smaller Vtubers because stuff feels a lot more personalized at that level. Really easy to get parasocial so I try and remind myself every time about that and set limits on myself. I got in Vtubing pretty late and really only watch Biboo and IRys only occasionally so Hololive is only getting my view mainly. I have watched some VODs for the others but they never grabbed me but I do understand why people liked older members when Vtubing was still a novel thing. My only slight regret though still is getting attached to Niji for a bit before it imploded in spectacular fashion. But I did get my kamioshi from that time so yeah. >>169369 Going off topic but mainly the issue here is that Japan has lost ground and purchasing power for animation with paying too little and outsourcing too much and China is retaking its place as the leader in Asian animation where they made the first animated feature film in Asia with Princess Iron Fan and subsequently lost their lead after being bogged down by world events. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iExwO1v_V
[Embed]
Japan is doing some pants on head retarded stuff with how they fund animation and their culture and the fact that means that China is steadily moving away from funding anime to funding donghua or Chinese animation not to mention they are adopting tech like CGI and AI to reduce costs on an even more fundamental level. So yeah, might not happen that soon but medium term, it is bound to happen unfortunately. I already watch mostly older stuff I missed because of how bad the modern Japanese anime scene is for the most part.
That graduation stream was great, if she was a 3 view nobody. Dogshit and half assed for what was the face of the industry.
>Do you plan to continue watching Hololive after these graduations As long as FWMC and Ceci are around, sure. Also curious on what EN5 will be. I will I don't watch those girls because they're holo, I just like them.
>>178329 & (You)
>>178000 Vtubers owe me head irl
>>129996 (OP) Only her. Everybody else is either annoying, not entertaining enough, or just not funny to me.
I've already been watching indies well before this year's conga line of Hololive graduations. That's not going to change. I dont have any interest in keeping up with Gura's roommate though; with how little she streamed even before Hololive and with how inactive she was in the company, its safe to say that's just who she is as a person. Bless all those chumbuds that'll follow her thinking this time will be different, because 2 months in they'll get the same treatment as before.
>>182195 I thought the reason for Gura streaming so infrequently was dissatisfaction with Holo Live's overbearing idol-lite culture. I never followed her but I've heard that explanation several times before
>>178649 well I know Japan as a country has been struggling generally as of late, but when I say Japanese culture, I mean things like traditions and norms. that sort of thing feels pretty intertwined with much of anime, at least up until many more recent ones. the actually business of anime has been in a terrible state for many years at this point.
>>182377 I'm not sure how much of a factor that would play into Gura not wanting to stream. Because it's not like this was a direction nobody saw coming, outside of members like Matsuri and Coco it was very obvious what Hololive was going for pre-EN. It probably influenced her decision to an extent given her past as a drunken loli, but I thought something like game permissions would play a bigger role. That and concerns from Cover about whether what she plays would be "bad for marketing". The only thing concerning is whether or not Gura will get back on the bottle when she's gone from Hololive. Or if she was already heavily drinking around 2022 and that's why she was constantly absent.
>>182488 Didn't she explicitly say that she was absent because her anxiety (due to expectations, imagined and real) would get so bad that she had to go to a doctor? I haven't followed her back when she was active as Sen, but I'm catching up, and in the streams she doesn't seem drunk for example. Was there a case where she was openly admitting to drinking? I mean regularly, I get her videos were almost always a drunken loli joke, but she doesn't have to be constantly hammered to make those, especially with how much time passed between them. In a couple of descriptions she also says she's not drunk, just retarded, though I'm not sure how much credit I should give that.
>>182400 That will continue as long as anime per its original definition is kept but as far as common perception, Western/Korean made stuff mimicking the artstyle like Avatar the Last Airbender and Netflix adaptations have slowly been eroding that definition and once anime fades from dominance from what I listed, common people will think of anime as just more like a style rather than animation from Japan. >>183498 This is why I heavily doubt she will return to indie Vtubing and if she does, it may be on a very touch and go basis and on her own schedule of choice. But she won't have expectations that was placed on her by being as popular as she was in Hololive.
>>183614 >people will think of anime as just more like a style rather than animation from Japan to be fair, I already mostly think about anime that way myself, but I still hold that position regardless. that being said, even though I say anime, I mostly read manga actually, so that probably colors my perception of how deeply rooted the media is in Japanese culture to begin with. last time I watched an anime was around 2022, so maybe anime as in animation specifically really isn't as "Japanese" anymore, and that's more manga now than before. guess it's just weird to hear
>>183614 >This is why I heavily doubt she will return to indie Vtubing She clrearly likes streaming and creating silly content. She likes singing also, which is why her carrier started as the shark, basically. I'm not saying it's a hunderd percent, but it would make sense for a person to continue what they like. With more inconsistent streams, it would be easier for her to handle the audience as well probably, and the different type of content would probably filter less degenerate fans too. So on whether or not she starts again, I'm a little more optimistic. >and if she does, it may be on a very touch and go basis That would be a good thing for her, since it would be harder for the audience to follow her. I'm not entirely sure if you meant that this would be a bad thing, but overall, I think it would be good for her, and her content itself.
>>129996 (OP) I removed all my Hololive subscriptions. While I don't think the company will ever be as evil as NijiEN, I no longer trust them to do right by their girls, and the way things are going, it's only a matter of time before we have an Aster incident or worse. No "change in direction" can possibly be worth losing so many top talents, let alone the face of vtubing that is Gura. The company is no longer sane.
>>183614 >>184567 You don't have to stream to be considered a Vtuber. She could very easily be a traditional youtuber who only uploads let's play videos with the odd monthly karaoke/members stream. Alternatively, if she really wants to filter her fanbase all she has to do is debut a Chibidoki/Rin penrose style anti-coomer model, announce that she's a dating/married and make her first gameplay series Split fiction with her partner on Twitch.
>>130345 >zen >girls And matara just got fired lol
>>183498 It wasnt the anxiety of just streaming, it's the anxiety of "Your words represent the company and our investors and corporate sponsors and if you make one joke we dont like or say one word wrong there'll be hell to pay"
>>188869 Yeah, that's part of the "expectations" I was talking about. The corpo environment definitely wasn't the best fit for her, all you have to do is look at her old content versus what she did as Gura. Then again, it was kind of a dream come true for her in a sense, but maybe not exactly how she imagined it.
>>129996 (OP) I stopped watching right after Coco left. Gura's graduating was the first Holo stream I watched in 4 years.
>>189544 Dang it's weird to have threads last more than a day I forgot I posted in here already.
>>183498 Yeah, catching up on the Holotalk she did say that the pressure fucked her up to hard to where she had a hard time getting food down. It's ultimately not much more than my personal rrat because I don't have anything but circumstantial evidence at best, mostly hypothetical otherwise. Like there was only streamclip archive I could find of Senz where the title said "Drunk stream" and she said in the 5 minute mark she was a lightweight. But she didn't sound tipsy really compared to her 2020 New Years stream as Gura. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUbzWfPOMnI
[Embed]
>>130050 True. I'm still mostly a JP side fan being 35p. But I'm also a pebble and part time/merc Rosarian. I knew Senzawa first back when her song "Ok boomer" hit the chans and first boosted her subs overnight. So I will be doing indie Senzawa now that Gura is gone. I won't be following her twitch stuff tho, she has to have her stuff on youtube or I will only catch up via clippers since I don't have the time now.
>>189925 In the 2020/2021 stream she only sounds drunk in the beginning, but as soon as she gets called out on it, she dials it back, making me think she just likes acting that way, although she did admit to drinking a single glass of champagne. To me it feels like she was more hype than drunk. I guess without hard evidence we will never know, but despite her old videos, from the streams she doesn't hit me as a hardcore drunkard, not even close.
