Gura says she was unhappy behind the scenes. But why? She is the most popular vtuber and the face of EN vtubing. She has millions of fans and superchat simps. What's there to be upset about?
>>196108 (OP) >She is the most popular vtuber nuh uh >>16287 (Cross-thread)
Money and fame can be appealing for only so long.
>>196108 (OP) Basically it was because of people's expectations, be it the fans or the company. Latter probably played a larger role in it, but based on what she shared she also couldn't have been handling the fame and large number of people watching her very well. As she described, she originally applied to the company because her dream was to have a Miku-like concert (since she loves singing to people, as is also apparent on her old account and in her old streams). Despite kind of achieving this, the success and being at a company came at a price, and I guess it became too high of a price eventually. It was obvious that she had to hold back and couldn't just do whatever she wanted. All these stress factors added up, and now some hope she will regain her health and return to her old roots at some point.
>>196108 (OP) From what we know, she felt a lot of pressure because of it, and that got to her head. Even if you asked 99% of her fans, we would have said "do what you want to do and don't worry about trying to please anyone," that's not how she operated. As she said, being the biggest was "terrifying," because she felt like she had to live up to so many people's hopes for her. Even for the most detached person in the world, that amount of perceived pressure gets to you. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if it isn't real and it's all in her head, because it's still affecting her.
>>196108 (OP) because she's menhera, same as literally every other vtuber it's entertainment for the mentally ill, by the mentally ill
>>196254 Ok fag, now go and perform in front of hundreds of thousands of people and see what happens. You think you have to be mentally ill to feel stressed? You will see when you get fired from your work at McDonald's and your mom finally throws you out.
>>196108 (OP) The scrutiny on a Vtuber is ironically higher than a regular streamer's. You pretty much can't mess up once.
>>196261 boo hoo poor babies got into entertainment and they cant handle it cry me a river, bitch
>>196108 (OP) To Gura, she suddenly became the biggest face in vtubing overnight from doing nothing. It was undeserved attention in her eyes, and the anxiety caused by being the biggest and most important vtuber in the world, yet having done nothing to achieve that status, is immense. She did not want to be that popular or influencial, she would've been happier if after debut, she was in ina's position, with Mori or Ame being the star figure instead.
>>196261 what he said wasn't a lie. She was a 'recovering' alcoholic 2 years into her Hololive career. Eventually she succeeded through rehab and obviously had a little kid. Now she wants a career that can support for the next 10 years. Do you dumb asses actually think vtubing is the type of career that can achieve that? Korone said it best there's a sacrifice to be made and unless you are comfortable in executing some lies your audience will never be able to completely accept the real truth and that division of opinions has caused the most recent graduations.
>>196108 (OP) because she had to stream :(((
>>196529 So she suffered from imposter syndrome? I personally don't think it was unearned success. Gura is just so naturally talented at amusing others. She really shouldn't have doubted her worth as an entertainer imo.

>>196108 (OP) Biboo. The shark feared and couldn't handle the rock's massive cock.
(693.13 KB 875x532 non fiction mv.PNG)

>>196108 (OP) she was experiencing intense guilt from serving the anti human transplutonian agenda. quite literally a biological repulsion.
>>196245 she should have just been my personal shark cunny onahole and everyone would be happy
>>196567 >recovering alcoholic Jesse, what the fuck are you talking about?
>>196485 someone's made of 95% water
>>198727 teh lore of senzawa said so
>>196952 I strongly believe Biboo was brought on to be a Gura-like streamer to soften the blow of Gura leaving. Gura's graduation had been coming for a long time. The funny thing would be if Gura's PL started streaming regularly though....
>>204030 Gawr Gura died from covid.

>>196567 She was 21 when she joined hololive she wasn't an alcoholic she was just a lightweight and she often drank before stream because that was the only way she could get over the nerves to actually hit the start stream button. When she joined hololive she stopped doing that and eventually grew more comfortable with streaming although it was still stressful especially in the last couple years when people would criticize her for her absence, which ironically only made her less likely to stream as she feared that people would hate her on return.
>>196108 (OP) >She has millions of fans and superchat simps. What's there to be upset about? I'm not even saying this to be mean, but have you seen her fanbase? There's some stupid chucklefucks who started a goddamn petition to try and get her to come back.
I hate chumbuds too, so I sympathize with her.
>>204579 Then it ultimately has to do with that schizo stalker she picked up. Ever since then she streamed less because she didn't want that high level of attention. Spawned from the worst of the chumbuds.
>>204622 She became a virtual idol more or less, I don't know if she knew it would be coming, maybe she didn't believe in herself enough and didn't think she would get this big. This is why I understand people who hate vtubers. These talent companies are perfectly happy with fanatics and parasocial relationships, because it's more profitable. I assume this also affected Gura, maybe she was used to being more involved with her viewers on her old channel, but once you get this big, the retardation of your "fans" can easily become unbearable. Lonely sad faggots are the cancer of these communities, but they are also the biggest paypigs.

>>205196 >joins virtual idol company >becomes virtual idol <how could this happen to me!?
>>207237 Women.
>>196108 (OP) Unironically it's because her fanbase was insufferable. She couldn't take dealing with them anymore.
>>205196 >play video games all day everyday >get paid doing it >only rules are "dont be a massive unhinged degenerate skank" meanwhile i have to contend with fucking crackheads for the bus stop every morning in order to look for work, and this fucking whore sells anime girl merch PASSIVELY. a whole fucking company does ALL her work for her. >stalkers yeah bro, those fat retard internet virgins are SOOOO terrifying bro, imagine if they arrived at your door wheezing for their lives. fucking hell. i dont even HAVE employment, no body values my worker drone tier ass, i may as well actually die and let the crackheads have a chance for once. >>207695 you are acting like she had to meet them irl everyday or something. its not her audience, she is just a typical picky bitch femoid.
(654.98 KB 700x1962 edrvwsew.jpg)

>>208727 >fans turning into haters post announcement >one, count em, 1, fan >getting internet hate, want to engage with internet people in comment sections >"not enough income" (incorrect)
>>208488 I understand your frustration, but she doesn't know your kind of suffering, and different things get to different people. Don't take the unfairness of the world personally. I would add that I also think that many people have much worse circumstances, objectively speaking. On the other hand, in your own example you mention crackheads, but for some reason you're not thinking about how and in what ways your life is better than others'. This is why Gura's suffering is just as real as yours. You can despise her, envy her, and it won't change anything. You could spend your energy on much better things.
>>196108 (OP) because she had management screaming in her ear, messaging her on discord, berating her calling her a brand risk, reminding her of her corporate and cultural ambassador status Having to constantly walk on eggshells and not say the wrong word or use the wrong meme BEing forced to change stream title multiple times even before the stream begins because simply saying something like "Cute and funny girls" is too ~pRoBlEmAtIc~ for cover corp being woken up in the middle of the night to get shouted at by japanese businessmen because you made a joke about Todd Howard and they're worried it's going to cost them game industry corporate contracts
>>213601 >being woken up in the middle of the night to get shouted at by japanese businessmen This is actual shit they do if you work for a Jap corpo and you live in NA.
>>213601 >forced to change stream title multiple times even before the stream begins because simply saying something like "Cute and funny girls" >get shouted at by japanese businessmen because you made a joke about Todd Howard Did these really happen? I mean I can certainly imagine both, but I assume an anon would only know of the first one, in which case I'd like to hear an example so I can laugh even more at jap corpo bullshit.
>>207695 understandable
>>196108 (OP) Hasn't she always felt really bad that she, without putting much effort, became the biggest chuuba while Kiara and Ame were smaller despite putting much more effort? Imposter syndrome. Also Cover using her more as a mascot rather than as a talent.
>>213601 This is something that you have to do if you have certain corporate jobs in NA, while getting a bonus for the extra hours + the fact you need to be available at all times, and it STILL fucking sucks dick. Having to do it while being a cute anime girl on the Internet, for no extra pay (lol jap corpo moment) would suck so much ass that I 100% understand her quitting just over that. But factoring in all of the other bullshit that being part of Hololive makes you deal with (merch merch merch! permission autism, sing/dance but do it IN JAPAN far away from where you live, etc) and it starts to sound like something that would erode your mind over time. Anons can't know this because they obviously never had a job and didn't need to deal with office politics (otherwise the answer why she quit would be obvious to them), but constantly being in an environment where you have to watch what you say, because otherwise Jack from the 3D department is gonna think that you don't value his work and start saying you insulted him and Steven (who you said had a funny tie once) will back him up, sucks HUGE ass. Then, after 6 months of dealing with their bullshit, you change department, until one day you have to deal with them again. Rinse and repeat until you are tired and you quit, find another job then do the same song and dance once again. By the way, no, this is not something that I PERSONALLY experienced but I have seen it happen in front of me about 10 times already, obviously those aren't real names nor real reasons. Substitute them with any manner of ridiculous, petty, highschool-level shit that your mind comes up with and it will be just as valid of a situation.
>>204579 drinking before hitting go live is an insane habit WOW
>>222681 Is it? I drink before hitting reply.
>>222681 >LE WOW NIGGER on another note, it's a bad habit for sure, but it's more of a mental thing, she was a lightweight, so she probably drank very little, just to dissolve her mental barriers
>>204579 Image too sexy, response deleted, fapping instead
>>222681 Why single out Gura. I seen other holomems like Korone pass out drunk on stream
>>196261 What the fuck is this explanation lmao I've performed with bands in front of hundreds of people, and I've only ever wished for it to be in front of an even bigger crowd. The only way performing in front of thousands of people can make you stressed instead of excited is if you're not cut out for it, simple as that.
She was a meme shitposter surviving off of internet tips and then suddenly she was a millionaire. She thought in her brain "wow, I never have to work again!" but then realized she was still a holol employee and actually did have to go to work. She then spent years trying to get out while yajew begged her to stay in until everyone else started leaving and she said fuck it because of the contractual changes that would have made her stream a minimum (which she hated) anyway. >>204579 >it was still stressful especially in the last couple years when people would criticize her for her absence, which ironically only made her less likely to stream as she feared that people would hate her on return. Fucking lmao >erm she was afraid of being criticized for not streaming, so she continued to not stream!
>Forced to wake up at 4am for japanese business meeting >Takeshi Goldbergstein screams at you for using the word toboggan on stream, which is an obscure insult in Rajmeniturkzakstan and mangement feel like it may damage their brand there. You were never warned of this beforehand, there is no reasonable way to expect you to know this but Takeshi doesnt care, the monthly GDPRNUGGMUPWERT is down 0.02% and he blames this for it >Go back to sleep for 43 minutes >Manager calls to tell you to change todays stream because they never actually bothered to get perms for the game you wanted to pay >Get up to stream since you werent getting any sleep anyway >Yokozuna Hiroshima and 24 investors will be watching your stream and analyzing every work you say to make sure there are no more "toboggan" incidents >Start streaming, say hello >Bombarded by discord pings from managers telling you what to say and how to say it >after three hours and thousands of discord aneurysms by managers you end stream >You're called into a post stream meeting with the managers and investors >That song you spent hundreds of thousands of dollars creating, with a fully animated MV? We're not releasing it because our partner Tsukinokoorogi, a small fishing company, thinks your ebi mascot might put people off eating their prawns >No we wont pay you back any of the money you spent on it, talents must fund their own music and videos which we can unilaterally decide not to release ever. >Finally go back to bed, having not eaten all day due to all this bullshit >Doomscroll, see drooling retards posting "lol it's just playing videogames hurr"
