Will Vshojo be able to recover now that Ironmouse is accusing them of stealing $500k in money raised for charity? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwLbGcUMy6g
>>583346 Hopefully not. With their biggest moneymaker gone and a court case for that much, who would still want to work there? Their company wasn't built like Niji, so I see them sinking eventually.
(8.86 KB 320x339 20221118_151049.jpg)

Aside from some flashy concerts the entire vtuber industry has been on an almost uninterrupted downward spiral since the AkioAir yab. And with the rise of AI gfs like Grok's Ani i am increasingly worried about this "community's" continued survival.
>Niji driving talents to suicide attempts and employing sexual deviants who prey on fellow talents >Vshojo stealing money from charity and not paying talents What's next? Yagoo jerking it in the middle of Akihabara?
>>583689 Grok won't amount to anything. The money in AI is drying up as well and these are the last attempts at taking money away from lowly suckers. The people who have been pouring the required millions so far are desperately trying to find an exit before reality catches up on them. In the end, vtubing will move away from the Hololive model (Hololive will still exist, I mean the modus operandi) transitioning towards what is current-day "youtubing", i.e. people with their own brands and corpo/agencies are there only to provide behind-the-scene support.
meh Unless there's a class-action by fans who donated for this purpose, the most that will happen is a slap-on-the-wrist settlement for tax evasion. As for PR, consumers have short memories. A good marketer can sweep this under the rug once the legalities are out of the way.
>>583346 No fucking way. It's over. This is pretty much the worst thing that any vtuber corpo has done.
>>583737 AI does seem like a massive ponzi scheme, there is just no way the largely free models are offsetting their costs with even the combined subscriptions of commercial and non commercial use, however that said i think there is still so much speculation of what might just be right around the corner and FOMO that will prevent the ship from ever sinking completely i do hope for a world where the common man can run their own AI waifu in the privacy of their own homes but i do think if it ever got to that point it would pretty much spell the end of vtubing (at least as a medium for the GFE/parasocial crowd)

>>583346 Yet again pink cat best cat. She be leaving Vshojo before it was the cool thing to do.
>>583346 Anything is possible, they may even have a good reason. Even despite their recent setbacks stealing from the charity of your golden goose seems too cartoonishly stupid to be real.
>>583346 Nope and it should stay that way. This is basically Selengate 2.0 but bigger in every way since Ironmouse has the terminal illness stuff and is the face of twitch vtubing
>>584497 chronic, not terminal. it shortens her lifespan significantly but it's not like late stage cancer or something
>>584586 kinda crazy how she can’t shake this off even after years, no wonder people always ask why’s this b still alive
>>584134 Who knows? It could be true or it could be a lie. I trust no one from the twitch sphere. What's certain is that Vshojo is dead.
>>584586 >>584764 >everyone assumes it's terminal That just makes Vshojo look even worse since they stole charity money raised by a dying girl to help other dying children
>>584886 CVID is almost always diagnosed as an adult so it's not focused on children, dying or not
>>584062 >the common man can run their own AI waifu in the privacy of their own homes i wish i had a decent local llm who can deal with some code, but the current problem of them is that they work because they consume shitton of data. llms are just statistical models after all, they can't structure facts, can't establish axioms, can't deduce theories and can't reason. so local llm would be very limited in it's capabilities or maybe we'd have to buy large hdds just to host models there
>>584062 >>586569 AI is definitely a bubble, lots of me-too products with no business model, and cash rolling in from investors that don't understand it. It's already possible to self-host DeepSeek, although IIRC the full model requires a *lot* of RAM, so you have to buy a proper server motherboard with like 16 DIMM slots for that. https://github.com/mihaaaailai/DeepSeek_local
>>583883 Spoke too soon. They could've weathered the controversy, but they won't survive the exodus of talents. gg, the story might make a good book someday.
>>587148 Damn she crashing out
(7.34 KB 232x217 images(4).jpg)

>>586583 It's a bubble in that there's 10,000,000 orgs trying to make a quick buck rather than AI itself being useless or unsustainable. I for one welcome the bubble pop so that I can finally get my command line monkey assistant that doesn't suck
>>583346 AmaLee (LeeAndLie channel) AKA Monarch left according to her X account. Henya will be making a statement tonight live. If I were a lawyer for Gunrun and other Vshojo executives; I would advise them to strip naked, run around, throw excrement, and scream incoherently in order to get an insanity deal.
The speed at which everything went downhill is pretty impressive to be honest.
>>589113 Slowly then all at once. Literally everyone has left now.
>>583346 >fucking over Mousey and her charity >didn't pay kson for almost a year Damn, that's scummy. >made the kettle cry DIE THE DEATH! SENTENCE TO DEATH! GREAT EQUALIZER IS THE DEATH!!
>>587148 So there were indeed "cons" it seems
Vshojo doesn't own any IPs, even Brave is not going to buy them

>>583737 >>584062 >>586569 >>586583 If you don't realize the space is in the same spot that Netscape, Amazon, Google, and many others were in during the Dot Com bubble, you really have zero perspective on where this is going. But then again, I'm assuming you lot just read headlines instead of company filings and quarterly reports.
>>590399 We all knew what Vshojo was really like, That's purely on Pikamee for joining them in the first place.
>>591641 Except all the names you referred to offered real tangible services; the rest of the bubble is just like any other past bubble: they are assuming just by having a website or a token or an intelligent agent they can get infinite money. If you consider how most generative AIs, which is what is being sold, are used primarily because it is free and enterprise contracts are not being renewed due to lack of real results, nothing here is in the same space as Netscape or Google or Amazon were back then.
Admitting to charity fraud is like guaranteed jail time right?
>>591773 Indeed.
>>591773 She's a very sweet girl but fuck me she's naive as hell. You can't be soft in this environment.
(102.88 KB 237x246 1702560601182409.png)

>>597801 >We didn't know that huge charity event, set up by our most successful employee, which was featured in the news, and I acknowledged. Was actually for charity. >Now that we do know we aren't going to pay the money back. >Goodbye Incredible response.
>>597887 I'm afraid there's no such thing as "guaranteed" jail time. Money and connections are a literal "get out of jail" card. >>583346 Nyanners says management was basically sociopathic and tried to control the talent like a cult. Kson observes that "talent first" didn't apply to getting paid, kek.
>>583346 It's been 4 days, apparently not!
>>583689 Realtalk since nimi announced she was getting married after this post was made: it would be better for every man if they just had their own personal AI idol vtuber gf than if men continued to fund grifter whores like Nyanners and Nimi.
>>583737 The US government just announced they're investing another trillion into AI, it's over for Artfags and real women, time to find a factory job building Gpus to power the AI overmind, HAHAHAHA

Right, a bit of an update. Not posting dox, but 4/vt/ basically found out the Chief Financial Officer of VShojo, Daniel Sanders, may have been heavily involved with the money being embezzled and he may the lawyer who was giving legal advice the to talents, even though he has an expired law license. He may have been dating Projekt Melody as well. 4/vt/ They also found the real estate listing for the apartment Melody was staying at before she moved to Japan and people figured with the Cowboy Bebop and Gundam posters in the pictures of the listing, it's her (and possibly Daniel's) apartment. Oh and to make it worse? Digitrevx, the person who made the original Melody model is posting some proof of having to send information to Daniel's e-mail. https://archive.ph/u5IBX https://archive.ph/soWrR https://archive.ph/Ic6SZ I think the pic is acceptable to list, since it's public legal information on lawyers with any dox covered up. More info is on the 4/vt/ thread called "Evil woman".

Airis Athena, a lewdtuber talks about it as well. This heavily collaborates with the stories going around about Projekt Melody and Daniel Sanders. https://archive.ph/QzOTM

People on 4/vt/ found a Twitter user that obtained a 2024-era Vshojo sales pitch deck. To put it bluntly this is just bizarre. >https://x.com/uwunetes/status/1948963645502717992 >Brags about poaching talents >operated at a 2.5 million dollar operating loss during 2024 >slides originally had IRL photos of actual Vshojo talents >slide contains pictures of an ex HoloEN employee. Could very well be the rude foreigner that Kaho Shibuya talked about. >planned to expand from 12 to 30-40 talents, while still planning on "reducing operating expenses" by 20% including potential employees. This company was incredibly fucked from top to bottom.
>>604902 Digitrevx is a massive schzio. I find it kinda hard to believe anything he says.
>>605730 the first slide seems to claim this is from January this year, no?
>>604983 >Later join She was one of the founding members. What this bitch talking >I have the idea of being the first lewdtuber, I swear Oh yeah this bitch is trying to kill the competition to fagocite their viewers, like lily is doing and did Gtfo
>>606392 the fuck you talking about, she streamed long before joining/founding the company
(1.40 MB 1600x900 9xilw8.png)

(1.16 MB 1600x900 diynho.png)

>>584764 I don't think anyone going "how is this bitch still alive?" is ever posting in good conscious. There is an entire image guide to explain every misconception about her condition there is but they are just trying to be actively malicious so it doesn't matter to them. >>604983 >like 8 years ago me and another camgirl heard about another camgirl who debuted as a vtuber, she for sure botted 10k viewers and became way more successful than us >this has been haunting (?) me for years... what a pointless petty post holy shit
>>606594 it's funny because they probably weren't bots, either, so it's huge cope mel was kind of a novelty and controversy that made waves
(26.32 KB 112x112 yfuDascrazy.png)

>>606603 Melody is one of the most well documented fads in vtubing history, it's an extremely weird and opportunistic post to make. I checked her twitter and she has 5k followers so I mean...and the responses to that tweet gave me brain damage. Having doubt about mel and her relationship to the dude considering his potential involvement is fine. I don't think you should care unless the actual girls involved make a point to speak out, but that post has pure seething sister energy to it. Also fuck diji kek that guy's a snake.
>>606466 When tf I said the contrary, anon? I repeat: This bitch is saying that Mel later joined the corpo. But She was a founding member. This b is talking out of her ass to throw shade and kill the competition, nothing more, nothing less
