Good evening.
I'm Amanogawa Shiina from Phase Connect gen2.
And this story really happened when I was a child.
It was around when Spring arrived, in a coastal city in SoCal. I was 10, and we all in 5th grade were getting ready for a field trip. The purpose of the trip was to "experience what it was like working in a ship in the 18th century". The ship was an old merchant ship anchored to the port.
The ship, with its tall mast and sails was just like a pirate ship you'd see in a movie. Just by looking at it I felt like I'd gone back in time, or become a pirate inside a movie.
When I got on the ship my nose was instantly hit by the smell of old wood mixed with seawater, telling me that I would really get to experience the old times there.(?)
Since it was a school event we were split in groups of 6 and a leader was chosen for each.
Since I was a really introverted 5th grader I thought I wouldn't be chosen. But I was chosen to be the leader of a group of 6 boys.
And then, the leaders of the 7 groups, myself included, were called to the captain's cabin to talk to the captain. Well, a teacher pretending to be the captain. The cabin was a small room at the front of the ship, was really cramped and also being used as a museum, with antique ceramic doll(s). Because of that the atmosphere in the room was already a bit creepy.
The captain started asking in order why we thought we were fit to be group leaders. We stood in a line, and I was going to be the 4th one. However, I was already distracted by something: Inside that dim room (illuminated only by?) the weak evening rays coming through the small round windows, I saw, many times, at the corner of my eyes, small shiny things flying around. That plus the dolls seemingly staring at me quickly made me uncomfortable. I didn't even hear the captain calling my name and didn't reply. I apologized and convinced myself that I was just seasick. After that we enjoyed a day of roleplaying
(lol) experiences.
But the most exciting part was the night shift. At night each group was given night work to do in turns. Our group had the 2am shift. Until then we laid out sleeping bags in the lower deck and the groups huddled up and slept. When I got inside the sleeping back on the dusty, dirty floor, I started feeling an unpleasant feeling in my stomach. Excluding the light from the night sky peeking in from the upper deck and the lamp(s) on the left side of the ship... it was pitch dark. There was no way I could fall sleep. I heard footsteps from the left (side of the?) deck and when I opened my eyes I saw the shadow of someone walking. I had heard an adult was patrolling for safety and so I told myself it wasn't anything to be worried about. But then, a teacher came down from the upper deck.
Huh... then who was that shadow walking around until now...?
I buried my face inside the sleeping bag and started shaking in fear. When it was finally 2am the leader of the other group came to wake me up. I woke the boys up and we went to the upper deck for our shift. We finished our tasks which took around 1 hour and once again it was time to go back to the lower deck.
And then it was my turn to go wake up the leader of the next group. In the dark. Alone. With not even a flashlight.
The next group slept in the darkest spot in the ship so I took deep breaths to keep my cool and whispered my classmate's name out loud
(wtf? I know what she means but it sounds stupid) while feeling my way around being careful not to bump into anything.
Then, I heard footsteps. I stopped. "誰かいるの?" There was no reply. "Thalia? Is that you? It's time for your shift!" I said, while I continued on. But there was no answer, only the footsteps started getting closer. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. "誰かいるの?" I asked again.
I could feel the footsteps right behind me. I turned around and searched around me, but there was no one there. I started to lose my cool and picked up the pace. Then, suddenly I felt something push on my back. I shrieked on reflex. But there was nobody there. "What the hecky?"
I felt someone push on my back again and stumbled my way through the darkness. I was about to cry, my heart was thumping, and I was drenched in cold sweat. I somehow found my classmate and the teacher accompanying her and managed to return to my sleeping bag safe and sound.
The next morning, when it was time to go home, I thought to myself "could that ship be haunted...?"
But I was just a little girl. I wanted to believe it'd all been my imagination and that's what I told myself.
Years passed and then, one day when I was in high school I was eating dinner with my family and the paranormal show I'd always watch was on TV. And that ship was in it, can you believe it?
It was the kind of show where usually they'd find no paranormal evidence, but this time was different.
The investigators in the show experienced the exact same phenomena I did and they got it all on camera. The shining orbs in the captain's cabin, the shadow and mysterious footsteps in the lower deck, and then, the sensation that someone is pushing you even though nobody is there. The exact same things I felt at that place happened.
Thank you so much for watching. Please enjoy the rest.
TN: she machine TL'd her story so there were some confusing parts but that should 99% be it
