We're not Singapore. It's far from trivial to wipe out 180 million people and they're not the only players on the board. As soon as the stability crumbles every major power is going to jam their dick in us and helicopter for the long con to get our essential resource deposits. Even before that, they're going to have strike teams assassinating people, blowing shit up, and repeating sandy burger II: train and arm militias simulator which will only prolong and destabilize. Cartels and gangs already control large masses and have been embezzling arms from border bases for decades they're well armed and stocked.
Let's set the who aside for a moment though. The one thing everyone agrees on is that the infrastructure and global logistics that allows this terminally ill cancer patient of a country to operate is indefensibly exposed. Once international trade shits the bed it's a short timer on medicine and countless key products. With very, very little arson, explosives, and sniping deep water ports are gone, tunnels and bridges are gone, power plants and substations are gone, oil wells, refineries, pipelines, chemical plants, internet past local meshnets. You have less than two weeks until food, gas and chronic condition medicine is fucking doneso. There's no local subsistence so you're looking at ~240+ million people hunger games chimpout. And that's game. What's important about it, is that we're not necessary and are actually an obstacle to the resources. The great snappening could be the best thing to ever happen and since nothing can fix how shit things currently are it's a dead-end for us either way. We're not going to live to see a free america and those that will, will be in the fucking dark ages finding out what no industrial scale fertilizer production, no gas, no draft animals, and no power grid for well pumps does to a mfer. So it's a real damn shame it became necessary to do.
