I personally liked looking at all the architecture, since a lot of it was rebuilt - in the west at least since I was in West Germany - and all the beautiful churches. Different cities do have different feels, like I liked Hamburg even if touristy, but other smaller cities inside have lots of different little quirks and places to explore Food was cheap and good quality, sometimes can get monotonous but that's to be expected if you're there for a very long time, but overall very good. I'm a big sandwich person, so I had lots of different Brötchen, which are sandwiches. Lots of American stuff too if you need, and sadly everywhere basically had a halal menu... also lots of good Italian Transportation was easy, they only ever checked my ticket on the "long trains," never on buses or trams, but that's cheap with like a day or month pass - you SHOULD just definitely get international data since I got lost my first day and the intercom systems are terrible... and they'd be even harder to understand if you don't speak German. And hotels can range, but you can get a cheap hotel room that isn't like a Hostel situation. It basically takes ~3ish hours to get halfway across the country by "long train" And of course everyone there under the age of like 40 speaks English And just a warning, IT"S HOT IN SUMMER AND EARLY FALL. Their Klimaanlage is "Luften" - aka, the joke is their AC is just opening a window
