So, giant series of effortposts coming up, fair warning, but if you have any opinion on what you would prefer to see or what you think the girls would like if they even care then feel free to chime in.
I'm getting back into miniature painting after not messing with it for a couple years, and I've got a gigantic collection of Kingdom Death minis from years of keeping up with the game's promos the vast majority of which are unpainted. Going through it trying to figure out where to start with getting it all painted, I recalled previously considering painting a mini for each VAllure girl, and looking through the collection I really like that idea. Take a mini, maybe make some minor alterations to it to better fit the girl, and then paint it in the girl's colors. The question, then, is which mini for which girl?
As far as alterations go, addition is much much easier than subtraction -- it's almost always easier to add additional details via sculpting putty than to cut out already existing parts and sculpt a custom replacement. Sometimes, though, it can be doable to replace a part completely with a part from another mini, such as cutting a hand off at the wrist and putting a hand from a different mini on. Long story short, there's only so much I can do to change the mini -- 99% of what you see would have to remain, but I can do some things.
There's no rush or need to decide any of these now, it'll take me at least a month to paint all 12 minis, but I do want to get started on at least some of them sooner rather than later. Also, I already own all of these minis, though they might not be assembled, so it's not like I'm ordering stuff just for this.
Anyways, in time slot order, gen1 to gen2, here's my thoughts.
For Icey, there are a lot of options that are good matches for Icey's 2.0 design, but none that are complete slam dunks. The first mini is a hand to hand fighter, very mean and savage looking, and even has a pony tail like one of her 2.0 hairstyles. The second pic is another hand to hand fighter, but I don't feel the pose is as fitting for Icey, same with the hair. Neither have claws, but claws are not really an option for this, it'd be too difficult to add them myself and no minis in the range have giant claws like Icey's.
If we don't limit the mini to a hand to hand fighter, though, I really really like the 3rd mini. In my opinion it just has massive Icey energy to it. Also as a benefit it's a very tall mini compared to others, being almost a head taller than most minis in the collection, which I think is another benefit.
For 1 and 3 it would be very easy for me to add polar bear ears to the mini. For 2 it might be a bit harder to do that because of the skull hat. 2 is also a pinup mini whereas the other two are gameplay minis, so it's a lot more sexualized than most minis in the collection and I think I might want to avoid pinups when possible for that reason so the full set of 12 minis would be thematically consistent.
