Off topic Windows rant.
I had to go help a friend with his PC yesterday. He has a prebuilt with Windows 11 on it. It appears that (on newer installs at least) Windows 11 won't even make local folders for things like Documents and Pictures, everything is just a shortcut to a OneDrive folder.
Even the fucking Desktop was on OneDrive. On boot, items on his Desktop had to slowly load in one by one.
The fix was easy enough, just make the appropriate local folders in his user folder, copy the files back from OneDrive onto the PC itself, delete the files from OneDrive, and uninstall OneDrive because it's garbage bloatware anyway.
I don't even blame him for falling for this, they integrate this shit in such a way that it looks like you're storing your files locally, but everything is really on a server somewhere. The ONLY reason I can fathom that they would do this is to sell you a OneDrive subscription when you run out of space. The worst part is that his PC has more storage than what he was taking up on OneDrive, but he couldn't save anything else to these locations because his OneDrive was full.
Anyway, I miss Sleepy.
