19 Years ago today, RAW achieved a record telivision rating of 8.1. The highest in WWE history Boliever 05/10/2018 (Thu) 13:24:09 Id: 43b76f No. 116095
In the midst of Attitude Era's rivalries and shenanigans, RAW won out the Monday night wars. This was the peak of televised wrestling for the WWE. http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/May_10,_1999_Monday_Night_RAW_results https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1265718-wwe-monday-night-raw-looking-back-at-the-highest-rated-episode-ever Watch the whole evening here http://topeducation.net/cgi-bin/Embedded/OProtect/PBPNger5hPk
>Jeff Jarret was on the card and had the longest match of the night D I M E S

1999 ratings as a whole reveal a bunch of things: >the way Nitro, Thunder, and even Heat drop off over the course of the year (especially after Smackdown premieres) >USA and the Turner networks both willing to preempt wrestling, even at its supposed peak >ECW on TNN's ratings ceiling being so similar to what TNA on Spike's was years later
>>116101 >Heat got more ratings in 1999 than RAW does today RAW is Thunder tier, fucking SAD!
>>116103 >WWE Championship still won't main event MiTB The MiTB match likely will, PPV's namesake
>>116103 fuck wrong thread
33 years ago today, Saturday Night's Main Event debuted with an 8.8 rating.
>>116122 Hulkamania, biggest draw in history brother, bigger than Stone Cold and the Attitude Era. Plus other greats like Andre, Piper, Macho Man etc. Don't think they were competing with another show like WCW Nitro then too, but then again the people who saw WCW wouldn't really watch WWF to being with.
>haitch main event smarks btfo
>>116444 Haitch pls, it was a 6 man tag featuring WWE Champion Stone Cold, The Rock and Vince Mcmahon and against them was HHH's team which had Shane and The Undertaker, plus Chyna at ringside. Haitch riding on the coat tails of real stars again. And shane is also there..
the wrestling products was a world apart in terms of quality back then.
