Rock comes clean about why he no showed Wrestlemania https://nodq.com/news/the-rock-explains-why-he-didnt-appear-at-wwe-wrestlemania-41-for-cody-rhodes-vs-john-cena/ >“I called John and Cody after the Elimination Chamber, and I said I think the Final Boss’ work is done. We just pulled off the greatest angle in wrestling history. I’m always here if you need me, but it’s best for the Final Boss to not be involved in that finish.” >“We can insert Final Boss in the end of this finish, but then where do we go? There’s other commitments that I have, and I want to also be careful that we’re not overstepping and leading over our skis too much here. I can get involved in the finish but I said, ‘Why get involved in that finish when the spotlight should just be on, in my opinion, John 17, heel champion. What does 2025 look like if this man is saying he’s going to ruin professional wrestling? That, to me, is the anchoring storyline. It’s not ‘soul’ right now. Right now, it’s not. But by the way, we’ll go back to it.” Do you agree or disagree with the final boss?
>Yeah, the house is half built >But what we made is pretty good >I think we can just leave it as is >Call me if you need me, but just know I have commitments
I agree about letting Cena have the spotlight but this whole turn was due to Rock. It needed something from him, even if it was just his music hitting to distract Cody or some impromptu stipulation change per orders of the Final Boss. Travis Scott wasn't enough. Either have Cena do it alone or fully commit and recreate the Chamber shot of Cena with the title, Cody laid out with Travis and Rock beside Cena.
>>153238 Exactly. If you weren't going to do something with it at Mania, you shouldn't have done it. Now it's like what? Is he subservient to the Rock? If not why was the Rock there at Elimination Chamber? And for that matter, the Travis Scott run in didn't even matter, so why did that Make-A-Wish spot even happen? If you had the Rock show up on the Raw after Mania and have Cena turn on him that would be fine, but just leaving him as Dwayne's unsupervised cockgobbling minion fucking sucks. I hate the Rock's booking.
>>153265 I want to add the Cena selling his soul to the Rock angle could work if the Rock was actually there.
>>153227 Jesus christ, he really just lied about this shit and wanted to go do hollywood stuff instead. Fuck this goddamn hack, Rock is officially dead to me now.
>>153296 He probably wasn't even doing Hollywood shit, he was tweeting or posting on Instragram just being at home in Hawaii during WM weekend.
>>153296 A part of me thinks he was mad about the AAA acquisition or maybe had nothing to do with it so he tweeted that NJPW vague tweet to try to upstage that and of course it went no where
>>153318 I think Dwayne and Haitch might be in a pissing match over who can make the other look worse. We can speculate what it's about, could be an old rivalry going all the way back to the 90's and the Klik, and Dwayne wants revenge for Paul and Shaun Michaels attempting to big league him. It could be that Dwayne wants Paul out of the way so Dwayne can run creative via Seven Bucks Productions and Brian Gewirtz. Maybe Dwayne was just mad that his proposed Cody heel turn got shot down and he wanted to punish Cody and Paul.
>>153325 If anyone can out politick and out manuever Dwayne, it's HHH. I really hope Haitch pulls this one out with some pictures of the Rock diddling kids or something. I've had enough of Dwaynetty.
>>153325 HHH thanked and mentioned a lot of people during his HOF speech but didn't mention the Rock once. There is some bad blood there
>>153227 No. this whole thing fell flat.without the rock
I honestly believe the rock is the one ruining the WWE and hhh is the one holding the boat.
>>153377 I think HHH plays favorite way too much like with DIY stinking up the joint (they were fine in NXT black and gold but that's it). But compared to Rocky he stays in the business and doesn't eye hollywood.
>>153377 you can't be a part time booker
(318.95 KB 1500x1500 tripleh-chaperone-dvd.jpg)

>>153447 Hollywood haven't exactly been begging him to come over.
>>153377 They both suck creatively. Rock wanted Cody to turn heel despite being an over babyface. Triple H moves storylines at an extremely slow pace. WM40 should’ve just been the end of the WWE.
>>153265 I'm pretty certain Scott was only back so Cody could get a revenge spot since people got mad that he slapped Cody so hard at the chamber.

>>153377 truth
>>153227 That's totally reasonable and would have been perfectly fine had he used that to not get involved at all. He didn't do that though. He made himself an integral part of the storyline, still had scores to settle with Cody, and then fucked off.
>>153227 >"We just pulled off the greatest angle in wrestling history" lol, lmao even. This dudes brain is cooked. I could excuse the hyperbole and bullshit if he'd actually worked for 5 minutes this Mania. All Dwayne had to do was show up instead of just Travis Faggot, eat a cross rhodes and walk away laughing when Cena's there and it's at least a mediocre arc that came to it's conclusion. But what actually happened was that the Rock turned his good heel work from last year into absolute dog shit, came out to bore out everyone break the 4th wall with his jabbing about being chummy with Cody, was present in a great heel turn with the worst shitter celebrity imaginable and just faded out like a fart in the wind when he was needed.
Literally the entire point of Cena turning heel was he has formed some sort of coalition with Rock. What the fuck do you mean it makes no sense for him to show up? Why did cena turn heel then? Why Rock know about it and this made the cutthroat gesture? Just stupid.
>>153884 Yeah its bad storytelling regardless of what happened behind the scenes. I get wanting John to have his final Wrestlemania be on him but the story that got us there doesn't work for that. Cena was in cahoots with Rock before EC, as seen by him looking to Rock on when to attack Cody. We need something more than what we got.
