I got some very, very basic movement working on a background I took from that Scott Pilgrim game, and with the limited frames it doesn't look great when animated. Given the short timeframe and your inexperience with pixel art I get why it's like this, but these aren't really usable for much. There's 100% a path forward. Take this as practice. It was a big ask to go from no game art experience to animating a character, this is a decent enough start. Maybe look at how other games animate certain things and take inspiration. I will say, I like the pose on that last frame of the hero. The butt poking out while slashing is cute.

I'm disappointed because using AI pictures and voices seems like an easy way to generate a lot of content for a smut visual novel. got around to playing The Hive demo, probably the best abdl game I've played even if you disregard soap's top tier art quality, Just gets you fantasizing even when you're done playing which usually only really good stories can. I'm trying to do a playthrough where I stay in around the same mental state as the start of the game but I hope there's an easy way to do that while staying in diapers. My one concern story wise is that the sci-fi stuff might get too heavy, like yeah it's a good premise to get things into place and create a bit of mystery but idk having a dystopian indoctrination class was just kinda cringe imo As for the development pace I'm unsure. On one hand, a lot of the work so far is on assets like backgrounds and character sprites which can now be re-used dozens of times. On the other hand, the story is currently at a state where it can be assumed all of the character's stats and relationships are near the default, and it's the branching out point where projects like this can really slow down. I dug through the source code a bit and it's not horrendous by the standards of a project like this, like there are definitely things that can be cleaned up, but for someone who isn't from a programming background it's beyond fine
