The Gaslight District Pilot Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 21:19:48 No. 46109
Didn't see a thread for this on here, the pilot for GLITCH's new show airs in about 40 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC8KsZniulw
>>49272 I don't think the show is ever going to explain why the Smiling Dead look unique and the other Rotlings all look fairly generic with the same base look. Like you said, it's a matter of resources. It's much easier to have a generic Rotling look to apply to all the background / non-important characters, and means focus can be applied elsewhere. For example, in Murder Drones the side-character and background characters drones (well, all the drones really) having the same base look makes sense and is explained in the world - because they're robots. Of course, they are diffrentiated by accessories and personalities and even body light-colors. In this case though for Gaslight District, I think it's just going to be left unmentioned. Because really it's not THAT important, only characters that are actually inportant to the story will get a unique look.
>>49348 Well yeah, my point is there was plenty of material in the pilot for future episodes to have gone down a more lore and intrigue-focused route if that's what Gooseworx had opted for. What's the Digital Circus? Who made it and why? Who were all these funny characters before they ended up here? What's the deal with Caine? What about the void? Is there really no way out? Is there no way to cure abstraction? So many mysteries the show could explore but hasn't.
>>49074 Maybe that's how she's supposed to end the eternal life curse, by giving birth to a whole new human population not connected to the black hand?
>>49392 They'll explore those things at the end. At the same time, you only think you want answers until you get them. Then you realize too many answers ruins the mystique appeal.

>>46109 All the fucking contrarians, nay-sayers and crabs are simply smoothbrain shit heads. We get an indie studio pumping out episodes and it's just straight up bitching like it's the mainstream slop. These shows are a fucking THOUSAND times better than what main studios produce. Hell I am impressed with the Gaslight District compared to the fucking piss poor Netflix, Amazon, or Disney shows that are or have come out. I hope Glitch Studio makes headway into more indie studios rather than the thinly veiled culture-war political-insert slop that mainstream shit is churning out. These feel like actual fucking cartoons and not being preached at or poorly subtle propagandized at. Just visuals and story-telling, fucking kino you unhappy fucks. Support the good and shit on the bad, and this is NOT bad.
>>49869 This. Glitch makes kino. The exaggerated bitching from contrarian faggots is so absurd when you look at the mainstream garbage being readily consumed by the masses. The difference in quality is night and day. Unironically, Glitch's shows have soul. They clearly have actual love put into them. Fuck people that try to claim otherwise. And fuck mainstream corporate disney-netflix slop.
>>49896 To add on, Glitched Studio has also created and leaned into their own very distinctive brand thus far. It's in the name... Glitch(ed)... 3D animations that are usually on the grittier and unconventional side. TADC really leans into the concept of "glitched" and is as of now their most popular indie IP.
>>46732 You're telling me Kiff can't get the yiff?
>>49896 >Glitch's shows have soul Get some taste, buddy. But since you're underage, I'll translate it for you; 'Get some taste, lil gup'
>>49914 Soul and quality are two different qualifiers.
>>46109 Honestly, I liked this alot, despite not being that interested in it at first. Hope to see more
>4tard is back Hope I won't see you there
>>50010 Back to the cesspit of tourists, schizos, glowies, shills and bots with you, kek.

>All those psychotic and totally authentic not-samefagging posts on 4prime frothing at the mouth over stupid shit You know what, maybe the show coming out when 4chan was down wasn't such a bad thing if it meant I didn't need to see threads filled to the brim with this shit. They aren't even kicking their feet over the sexy man-bots, these aren't my people.
>>50169 I guess they're kinda sexy.
>>50169 >>50223 Crazy femanons will find a way to husbando the Virtues, Mud and Ken. Maybe even Breadhead.
>>50224 Does he know?
>>50079 You are a silly one.
>>46109 we're rapidly reaching the saturation point forquirky manic main girl trope >>46162 haven't actually seen Hazbin but this is what I imagined it to be
>The Gaslight Thread on 4prime 404'ed Huh?
>>46483 Humanity is a bunch of demon worshipping monsters wallowing in filth clinging to putrid, rotting life after the Deluge has come; exterminating that is righteous even if the larpers serving as the footsoldiers are dicks.
>>50640 Your posts come off like the musings of an anime villain. Type like a normal human being and not like a teenager larping.
>>50645 >plain description of the reality of the setting as directly stated in the opening narration is "anime villain musing" The world is flooded and they're on a floating city to avoid it, blowing each other's brains outs and shoveling down shit eating flies to pass the time, how about you open a dictionary.
>whale belly butcher shop because main bitch is a prophet/messiah rejecting her purpose like jonah
I think I'm going to stick to discussing the series on here or any other altchan for now. Can anyone read what the rest of the locations say on the map? I can only make out Glow Haven/Heaven(?) on the bottom left. Right is from the trailer.

>>50691 I can make out Flicker Falls (just above Heaven/Paradise Lost) and The Apocalypse Stadium (to the far west of the ring). The three remaining locations I can't quite clearly read. One of them is 'The Pyramid of the-', the other two indecipherable. Based on the image for the last two, the first seems to be a connecting urban centre to the stadium. The second seems more like...wasteland? Mountainous desert? A beach? If we had a better image, we'd probably know.

>>50870 You have a good eye. The map is intentionally blurred in those areas so a majority of my photo editing doesn't help much. I managed to figure out the top right one however, seems to be the main habitat of the Litterbugs considering the icon (possibly an entrance to the pits?). The ones with Rotling icons are meant to imply civilian spaces if I had to guess. With the series likely only having eight or nine episodes I wonder how much of this we're going to see meaningfully in the show- considering that there's also layers beneath the surface of the district.
I didn't mind it. I think the main character is cute, quite a few of the designs are nice, and the varied artstyles are reminiscent of Flapjack. However, the concept is played to death. Almost every GLITCH series has fascile biblical and post-apocalyptic themes accompanied with family drama. It's nauseating. Other than that, some of the audio mixing was bad, and the story didn't have enough compelling hooks to bring it above the status of short film. Appending it with trailers didn't help that.

>>50691 >>50870 It's Pyramid Scheme Bank and Lantern Heights. Here's a perspective corrected map I did, I wouldn't have gotten Lantern Heights without it.
>>52619 >Almost every GLITCH series has fascile biblical and post-apocalyptic themes I've only watched Digital Circus, so I wouldn't know. Everything I can see about this show tells me its a discount hazbin hotel which itself was already not worth watching: >QuIRkY CrAzY UnHinGeD characters with massive toothy grins and or dreamworks face, the kind of designs you'd see on deviantart & tumblr when you're not seeing fetish material >vaguely-emo aesthetic >Shallow, "fuck you mom & dad"-tier religious theme with Heaven as the bad guys & Hell/zombies being nuanced if not outright the good guys So I can easily see this is also not worth watching in the slightest.
>>52623 >I've only watched Digital Circus Anon... Caine. >a discount hazbin hotel Not really. There's some similarity in concept, but it's somewhere between Murder Drones and Hazbin. >QuIRkY CrAzY UnHinGeD characters with massive toothy grins and or dreamworks face, the kind of designs you'd see on deviantart & tumblr when you're not seeing fetish material >vaguely-emo aesthetic These are big draws for GLITCH works. Not really a negative. Not Hazbin territory though. >Shallow, "fuck you mom & dad"-tier religious theme with Heaven as the bad guys & Hell/zombies being nuanced if not outright the good guys The main character wants the respect of her dad, rather than trying to tell him to fuck himself. Her mom hasn't been revealed yet, if she exists at all. Hell/Zombies are a religious cult of humans who have gained eternal life and become decadent. They'll kill the main character if they find out what she is. Heaven is less ambigious and more plainly jackboot evil, at least for now. They want to get rid of Hell's immortality so they can lead them. >So I can easily see this is also not worth watching in the slightest. It's not a bad short film. The biggest hurdle for the average viewer may be the Spiderverse FPS in some scenes.
