Dead ideas just don't stay dead in Hollywood. They'll revive any idea they can, usually for the worse, if they can get you to pay for it to get a shred of nostalgia. Let's vent our frustrations once more together. Starting off with something I'm actually looking forward to, Primal season 3 has been teased with a sort of return of Spear. From the looks of it, this season will likely lack the human element almost entirely as Spear goes on an undead journey of mystical brutal horror. Hopefully people will warm up to the series again after some turned on season 2. Now for something I'm less than enthused about. Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. He took a story about playing God & made it into a movie about generational trauma daddy issues & ugly woman romance. At least the monster looks somewhat book accurate for once. That's the only plus I can give it. The casting for Victor & his fiance cousin are all wrong. I already hate Del Taco for his literally gay communist propaganda ugly woman on monster movie, The Shape of Water. Along with his more childish Pinocchio movie he had to make about fascism then did nothing creative with it. At least this movie's only Netflix so you don't have to pay any money for it if you just pirate it. Now onto capeshit, Supergirl is still slated for next year along with Clayface. Yeah a Clayface solo movie. Which has officially wrapped filming. Now while I want this to be good.... I don't have faith in the Gunn led universe if he's going to keep shoving in his stupid fucking politics & alienating raunchy humor. Look no further than his Peacemaker show that's ended with season 2 & sets up a loosely based Salvation Run plot for the next Superman movie. The show that equates Christians to Nazis & how America is little different from Nazi Earth X. Gunn's such a fucking retard. He's going to continuously drive people away with his politics. WB is literally on the cusp of being sold to Saudi Arabia because they're not profitable enough.

Are you sick of Disney's live action remakes ruining the point & creativity of the original animated movies? Well how about a remake for a movie that's only from 9 years ago?
>>58236 What's the point if most is cgi bothways?
>>58238 Disney's got to have moneeeyyyy!
>>58236 >Are you sick of Disney's live action remakes ruining the point & creativity of the original animated movies? I'm just sick of seeing the same shit that I grew up with and nothing new actually coming out. I am, or at least USE TO BE, one of those people who didn't mind remakes. In fact, I still defend the Total Recall remake despite how much people tend to shit on that movie. It also feels like older remakes at least attempted to set themselves apart from or add something to the original work in some capacity. But all this modern shit is just remaking the something that already exists with no changes at all. At this point, being "faithful" is ironically why this shit will fail because I have zero reason to go to theaters to see this movie as I already saw this movie nine years ago. And if the original product was actually THAT GOOD in the first place, why don't I just stick to the originals?
>>58240 Anon none of these movies are faithful remakes though. You wouldn't know that just at a quick glance. But that's exactly how they get normalfags to go see this crap. They marketing on nostalgia but if you do a little more research you'll see how they always spit on the legacy of the originals.
I'm so fucking sick of Nazi shit in literally every piece of media nowadays. How the fuck do people think the Continental US at the historical peak of patriotic fervor wouldn't revolt against the actual Hitler-led Nazis of WW2? Or would somehow entirely get conquered by a country with a fraction of the GDP or troop size or fucking anything the US had at the time? How does anyone think the country would somehow still just work but everyone's cool with the US's sworn enemies for years controlling everything? That kind of shit historically doesn't work out. At least in something like Man In the High Castle the US is split into multiple puppet states by different powers.
>>58242 That's actually a good point, all of Germany can fit inside Texas, unless it's the whole Axis powers occupying the US, though most stories just has Hitler start killing Hungarians, Romanians and everyone else.
>>58241 >Anon none of these movies are faithful remakes though. You wouldn't know that just at a quick glance. That doesn't detract from my point, though. Even if they WERE, why would I want to watch these over the originals? And if the original product is good enough to be seeing all these remakes, adaptations, and iterations, why wouldn't I go back to the originals instead of watching these latest productions? >>58242 >How the fuck do people think the Continental US at the historical peak of patriotic fervor wouldn't revolt against the actual Hitler-led Nazis of WW2? Because something about how Disney and Henry Ford were "Nazi sympathizers", and how "racist" of a country "we were" back in the 1930's. Also because you're talking to Communists who deny to their grave that they created the Nazis and the Facists, with even Mussolini and the NSDAP outright declaring that they are Socialists just without Marx's materialism. >How does anyone think the country would somehow still just work but everyone's cool with the US's sworn enemies for years controlling everything? That part is actually believable because, honestly, anywhere from a third to a half of a nation's population doesn't give a shit about who's in charge. They're too busy focussing on their pathetic and simple life to care about politics. I mean, just look at second and third world nations, some of which used to be prosperous prior to the 90's, who refuse to get off their ass and revolt against the dictators running the nation into the ground.
>>58245 I don't disagree. I'm just saying you have a warped perception of the reality of these worse live action movies. A better comparison is the HTTYD movie that, beyond the casting, is just repeating the animated movie beat for beat. There's no reason for it to exist if they weren't gonna do anything actually different, no nogs don't count, like maybe actually following the books instead.
>>58080 I just now realized, is Supergirl doing the goddamn Shazam meme for marketing? >>58240 >>58245 If Disney thought they could justify locking the originals back in the "Disney vault" and going on a ruthless copyright spree against every single movie torrent site in existence whenever a new version comes out, they probably would just to get money funneling in from ticket sales. I'm sure they'd love to make proper sequels but on top of their "no sequels from the main film production team" rule, look at past Disney sequels like Hunchback of Notre Dame 2, Cinderella 2, Wreck it Ralph 2, none of them positively received in hindsight, then consider that a lot of the spite and legacy destruction will still be there in a different form. Original films are also suffering due to lack of creativity from the current writers, so really no matter what route Disney goes down the game is rigged. They should just stop while they're still ahead and still have the rep of their older films, but you're not just allowed to close down the biggest entertainment empire in the world for a couple months, so as long as they don't actively destroy their older works they have an audience they have to do something for, and they still believe their safest bet is double dipping older works and preying on nostalgia in spite of at least a dozen failures in that regard. >>58246 Today I learned HTTYD was an adaptation of a book. We really have had a creativity drought for a long time, Jesus.
>>58249 >Today I learned HTTYD was an adaptation of a book. In the loosest sense. Dragons could speak. They never hunted them. Toothless is the size of a Terrible Terror.
>>58245 >NSDAP >outright declaring that they are Socialists Anon... that was one of the strasser brothers or the guys that were actually national SOCIALISTS. I'm not going to disagree with the fascism and it's predecessors being created left-wingers because it's true even mussolini was a socialist during ww1 and his family is full of socialists even being named after a mexican revolutionary but national socialism traces it's ancestry towards volkish nationalism and other right wing leaning ideologies adapting socialist believes later on and even then it was very mild with the radical socialist ideas being mostly popular betwee the strasser brothers and their supporters (which one was killed dyring the night of long and other escaped outside of germany, returning only after ww2 ended)
>>58254 >because it's true even mussolini was a socialist during ww1 So was Hitler, but that's missing the point. ALL versions of Socialism are "Left wing". There is no "Right Wing" version of Socialism, never has been. All Socialist ideologies are selling themselves on the ideal that we "could" finally "return" to some utopian time in the past that never actually existed and is entirely an idealized fiction, but only if you hand over all your Rights and Liberties to the state and let them control your life. "Right wing" ideologies focus on one thing and one thing only, that being a LACK of a government or (More appropriately) self-governance. All Socialists, Nationalists, and their so-called "Right wing" brethren despise this concept for the one simple reason on: <''What if the person makes the "wrong decisions"? Or, more implicitly, a decision that isn't political in nature and in line with whatever is suppose to be the "correct" political action.
>>58256 Ok libtard
>>58257 Also you are wrong because right-wing is defined as "being in favour of hierarchy and social order and that these are ineventible" while left-wing is "striving towards social equality" and such stuff... So no... you are just stupid

>>58258 >right-wing is defined as "being in favour of hierarchy and social order and that these are ineventible" According to who? Here's my dictionary's definition of "right wing": <the rightist division of a group or party (C)1996 Zane Publishing, Inc. and Merriam-Webster, Incorporated. All rights reserved Which continues to: Rightist <a person with conservative political views Which leads into: Conservative <1 : preservative <2.a : of or relating to a philosophy of conservatism <2.b : of or constituting a political party professing the principles of conservatism: as <2.b.1 : of or constituting a party of the United Kingdom advocating support of established institutions <2.b.2 : progressive conservative <3.a : tending or disposed to maintain existing views, conditions, or institutions : traditional <3.b : marked by moderation or caution <a conservative estimate> <3.c : marked by or relating to traditional norms of taste, elegance, style, or manners <a conservative suit> And just to cover one last ground: Consevatism <1.a : the principles and policies of a Conservative party <1.b : the Conservative party <2.a : disposition in politics to preserve what is established <2.b : a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change <3 : the tendency to prefer an existing or traditional situation to change And if you look up what makes something"left wing": <1 : the leftist division of a group (as a political party) <2 : left 4a Left <4a : those professing views usu. characterized by desire to reform or overthrow the established order esp. in politics and usu. advocating change in the name of the greater freedom or well-being of the common man In Layman's terms, the dictionary is defining "Right wingers" as people who want to preserve society the way it is (Even if they don't like it) and only ever change it through a gradual process. MEANWHILE "Left wing" is defined as people who want to overthrow and abruptly change the system for the purposes of "The Greater Good". So with those defintions in mind, the Nazis and the Christian Nationalists are "Left wing" because they're entire program is about how they want to overthrow the reigning system (And it doesn't matter if they're justifying it as a "temporary measure", they still want to outright defy the system).
>>58260 According to everyone. Also you can be conservative and left wing lol
>>58278 >According to everyone. So you're just pulling it out of your ass and have no argument
>>58288 Literally that's how wikipedia says it is that way.
>>58289 >wikipedia as a source
>>58290 Better then your nonexistent ones. I guess
>>58291 >nonexistent <When the source is directly cited as Merriam-Webster You really have not argument, and now have to resort to playing games because your entire rant was shutdown with a simple dictionary search.
>>58256 >that being a LACK of a government Doesn't the terms "left" and "right" come from the French Revolution, in which the "left" side opposed the Crown and Altar? I know the revolution ended up being tyrannical and authoritarian, like leftist revolutions always do, but was the French Monarchy really that hands-off?
>>58292 >rapes you

Apparently it's just coming out that Disney ripped off, shot for shot, a random fan film for Star Wars Visions. And of course the studio that did this segment are indians. A nation of shameless scammers much like China.
>>58330 So far this is like the second film project the Jeets plagiarized.
>>58367 What's the first?
>>58370 Now where's a drawfag when you need them.
>>58088 It's such a bittersweet feeling to see footage of these films. I remember child me watching flash animations and wondering what a big budget Mario movie could have been like. At worst, it would have been Nintendo making a hour and a half long cut-scene, safe and boring but acceptable. There was no way they could fuck that up... And then they didn't get Mario and Luigi's VA for the Mario movie. That alone made me not wanna touch them.
>>58380 They were always going to get new vas for the characters especially when Charles is too old to voice 5 characters. Bowser, Luigi and Toad are good, Mario is okay and Peach is serviceable. Its obvious they leaned heavily on the old Mario cartoon for nostalgia.
>>58386 See, that would make sense if they hired VAs to replicate the iconic sounds. What they did instead was get casting couch fucktoy #281 and wash out nepo jews because [brand] + [brand] is statistically more profitable than just [brand]. It's an obvious move for a suit but a ridiculous one for a person who values the Mario franchise and wants a faithful adaptation. It's even more ridiculous when you consider that Miyamoto, the one guy who would theoretically be protective over the IP, was involved and didn't do shit to stop Hollywood from smearing its sweaty, circumcised cock all over the project. Don't get me started on them ruining Peach's character because faggot activists think female characters shouldn't be feminine.
>>58401 Anon the Japanese still think they're dealing with 90s Hollywood. Nintendo's bar is the literal live action Mario movie, to them the animated movie was a breathe of fresh air. If Iwata was still alive we'd probably get a higher quality film but with the current admin in charge things could've been worse. Most of the negative things about the Mario movie could be pointed at Illumination and they aren't Jewish but French.
