/co/ Pain Thread 11: Zombie Industry Anonymous 11/12/2025 (Wed) 05:14:32 No. 58080
Dead ideas just don't stay dead in Hollywood. They'll revive any idea they can, usually for the worse, if they can get you to pay for it to get a shred of nostalgia. Let's vent our frustrations once more together. Starting off with something I'm actually looking forward to, Primal season 3 has been teased with a sort of return of Spear. From the looks of it, this season will likely lack the human element almost entirely as Spear goes on an undead journey of mystical brutal horror. Hopefully people will warm up to the series again after some turned on season 2. Now for something I'm less than enthused about. Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. He took a story about playing God & made it into a movie about generational trauma daddy issues & ugly woman romance. At least the monster looks somewhat book accurate for once. That's the only plus I can give it. The casting for Victor & his fiance cousin are all wrong. I already hate Del Taco for his literally gay communist propaganda ugly woman on monster movie, The Shape of Water. Along with his more childish Pinocchio movie he had to make about fascism then did nothing creative with it. At least this movie's only Netflix so you don't have to pay any money for it if you just pirate it. Now onto capeshit, Supergirl is still slated for next year along with Clayface. Yeah a Clayface solo movie. Which has officially wrapped filming. Now while I want this to be good.... I don't have faith in the Gunn led universe if he's going to keep shoving in his stupid fucking politics & alienating raunchy humor. Look no further than his Peacemaker show that's ended with season 2 & sets up a loosely based Salvation Run plot for the next Superman movie. The show that equates Christians to Nazis & how America is little different from Nazi Earth X. Gunn's such a fucking retard. He's going to continuously drive people away with his politics. WB is literally on the cusp of being sold to Saudi Arabia because they're not profitable enough.
Oh yeah. And Sabrina Carpenter is allegedly going to star in an Alice in Wonderland live action musical. Not under Disney.
>>58081 What the fuck is that make up
>>58082 She's a lost Bogdanoff sibling.
>>58080 >Starting off with something I'm actually looking forward to, Primal season 3 has been teased with a sort of return of Spear. From the looks of it, this season will likely lack the human element almost entirely as Spear goes on an undead journey of mystical brutal horror. Hopefully people will warm up to the series again after some turned on season 2. The one problem I see with the teaser was that we already had the zombie episode in the first season. Also, what issues did people have with season 2? >Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. He took a story about playing God & made it into a movie about generational trauma daddy issues & ugly woman romance That's unironically and literally just Young Frankenstein Even the part about the Doctor's fiance falling in love with the monster. >Yeah a Clayface solo movie. Which has officially wrapped filming. The only way I'd see any interest come from that project is if they were to base it on the version of Clayface from the 2004 The Batman cartoon. For those who don't know, the first Calyface in the series is GCPD Detective Ethan Bennet, who is exposed to one of Joker's experiments and mutates into Clayface. And much of his character after this transformation is a constant struggle of maintaining his sanity.
>>58085 Yeah zombie & witchcraft episodes. Now it's a full season. Didn't think about that. Oscar Isaac even looks more like Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein.... Gunn Clayface is supposedly going to be an amalgamation of Basil Karlo & Clayface 2. Actor origin, gets disfigured, & gets the clay powers somehow rather than being just a disfigured killer.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer is released. Starring Brie Larson as Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.
(81.57 KB 480x360 It's Schwarbage.mp4)

>>58088 Terrible casting choices again. Focus is barely on Mario. Doubling down on the girlboss shit.
>>58088 Why jump to galaxy? Why choose brie larson? What's the obsession with movies using bug actors in animation if they always suck? Whatever people will suck it up i'll not watch it.
>>58091 Cheap labor? Easy for talent agencies? Despite being insufferable, Awkwafina keeps getting voice roles in animated shows and films.
>>58088 If Peach and Rosalina are capable of doing...I don't know, EVERY FUCKING THING, why are the Bros even there?
>>58091 >What's the obsession with movies using bug actors in animation if they always suck? Unions?
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Canceled; Ends with Season 2 https://archive.ph/49eyo >Paramount has canceled Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with the December-debuting second season now serving as its last. >The news comes as David Ellison and Skydance continue with post-merger restructuring plans, and comes as a surprise to many. In a memo released last week outlining the TV Media Chair's new executive structure, George Cheeks emphasized how the company's linear networks would leverage Paramount's library of viable IP assets. "Our cable brands will focus on a more curated slate, optimizing programming and marketing resources to amplify what resonates most," Cheecks wrote. "That means leaning into franchises like SpongeBob, PAW Patrol, RuPaul's Drag Race, South Park, Ms. Pat, and The Daily Show, while continuing to develop new IP across our studios and seeking new ways to amplify and connect with audiences." In terms of IPs with strong value, it's interesting that "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" would've been left off of Cheeks' rundown of IPs.
>>58151 Good riddance. A Christmas short & sequel movie are still planned though. They should cancel those too & focus on The Last Ronin movie instead.
>>58091 >Why jump to galaxy? If I recall, the first movie had a Luma they were really banking into making the marketable Olaf type, so maybe they're shifting gears and trying to turn them into minions.

Are you sick of Disney's live action remakes ruining the point & creativity of the original animated movies? Well how about a remake for a movie that's only from 9 years ago?
>>58236 What's the point if most is cgi bothways?
>>58238 Disney's got to have moneeeyyyy!
>>58236 >Are you sick of Disney's live action remakes ruining the point & creativity of the original animated movies? I'm just sick of seeing the same shit that I grew up with and nothing new actually coming out. I am, or at least USE TO BE, one of those people who didn't mind remakes. In fact, I still defend the Total Recall remake despite how much people tend to shit on that movie. It also feels like older remakes at least attempted to set themselves apart from or add something to the original work in some capacity. But all this modern shit is just remaking the something that already exists with no changes at all. At this point, being "faithful" is ironically why this shit will fail because I have zero reason to go to theaters to see this movie as I already saw this movie nine years ago. And if the original product was actually THAT GOOD in the first place, why don't I just stick to the originals?
>>58240 Anon none of these movies are faithful remakes though. You wouldn't know that just at a quick glance. But that's exactly how they get normalfags to go see this crap. They marketing on nostalgia but if you do a little more research you'll see how they always spit on the legacy of the originals.
I'm so fucking sick of Nazi shit in literally every piece of media nowadays. How the fuck do people think the Continental US at the historical peak of patriotic fervor wouldn't revolt against the actual Hitler-led Nazis of WW2? Or would somehow entirely get conquered by a country with a fraction of the GDP or troop size or fucking anything the US had at the time? How does anyone think the country would somehow still just work but everyone's cool with the US's sworn enemies for years controlling everything? That kind of shit historically doesn't work out. At least in something like Man In the High Castle the US is split into multiple puppet states by different powers.
>>58242 That's actually a good point, all of Germany can fit inside Texas, unless it's the whole Axis powers occupying the US, though most stories just has Hitler start killing Hungarians, Romanians and everyone else.
>>58241 >Anon none of these movies are faithful remakes though. You wouldn't know that just at a quick glance. That doesn't detract from my point, though. Even if they WERE, why would I want to watch these over the originals? And if the original product is good enough to be seeing all these remakes, adaptations, and iterations, why wouldn't I go back to the originals instead of watching these latest productions? >>58242 >How the fuck do people think the Continental US at the historical peak of patriotic fervor wouldn't revolt against the actual Hitler-led Nazis of WW2? Because something about how Disney and Henry Ford were "Nazi sympathizers", and how "racist" of a country "we were" back in the 1930's. Also because you're talking to Communists who deny to their grave that they created the Nazis and the Facists, with even Mussolini and the NSDAP outright declaring that they are Socialists just without Marx's materialism. >How does anyone think the country would somehow still just work but everyone's cool with the US's sworn enemies for years controlling everything? That part is actually believable because, honestly, anywhere from a third to a half of a nation's population doesn't give a shit about who's in charge. They're too busy focussing on their pathetic and simple life to care about politics. I mean, just look at second and third world nations, some of which used to be prosperous prior to the 90's, who refuse to get off their ass and revolt against the dictators running the nation into the ground.
>>58245 I don't disagree. I'm just saying you have a warped perception of the reality of these worse live action movies. A better comparison is the HTTYD movie that, beyond the casting, is just repeating the animated movie beat for beat. There's no reason for it to exist if they weren't gonna do anything actually different, no nogs don't count, like maybe actually following the books instead.
>>58080 I just now realized, is Supergirl doing the goddamn Shazam meme for marketing? >>58240 >>58245 If Disney thought they could justify locking the originals back in the "Disney vault" and going on a ruthless copyright spree against every single movie torrent site in existence whenever a new version comes out, they probably would just to get money funneling in from ticket sales. I'm sure they'd love to make proper sequels but on top of their "no sequels from the main film production team" rule, look at past Disney sequels like Hunchback of Notre Dame 2, Cinderella 2, Wreck it Ralph 2, none of them positively received in hindsight, then consider that a lot of the spite and legacy destruction will still be there in a different form. Original films are also suffering due to lack of creativity from the current writers, so really no matter what route Disney goes down the game is rigged. They should just stop while they're still ahead and still have the rep of their older films, but you're not just allowed to close down the biggest entertainment empire in the world for a couple months, so as long as they don't actively destroy their older works they have an audience they have to do something for, and they still believe their safest bet is double dipping older works and preying on nostalgia in spite of at least a dozen failures in that regard. >>58246 Today I learned HTTYD was an adaptation of a book. We really have had a creativity drought for a long time, Jesus.
>>58249 >Today I learned HTTYD was an adaptation of a book. In the loosest sense. Dragons could speak. They never hunted them. Toothless is the size of a Terrible Terror.
>>58245 >NSDAP >outright declaring that they are Socialists Anon... that was one of the strasser brothers or the guys that were actually national SOCIALISTS. I'm not going to disagree with the fascism and it's predecessors being created left-wingers because it's true even mussolini was a socialist during ww1 and his family is full of socialists even being named after a mexican revolutionary but national socialism traces it's ancestry towards volkish nationalism and other right wing leaning ideologies adapting socialist believes later on and even then it was very mild with the radical socialist ideas being mostly popular betwee the strasser brothers and their supporters (which one was killed dyring the night of long and other escaped outside of germany, returning only after ww2 ended)
>>58254 >because it's true even mussolini was a socialist during ww1 So was Hitler, but that's missing the point. ALL versions of Socialism are "Left wing". There is no "Right Wing" version of Socialism, never has been. All Socialist ideologies are selling themselves on the ideal that we "could" finally "return" to some utopian time in the past that never actually existed and is entirely an idealized fiction, but only if you hand over all your Rights and Liberties to the state and let them control your life. "Right wing" ideologies focus on one thing and one thing only, that being a LACK of a government or (More appropriately) self-governance. All Socialists, Nationalists, and their so-called "Right wing" brethren despise this concept for the one simple reason on: <''What if the person makes the "wrong decisions"? Or, more implicitly, a decision that isn't political in nature and in line with whatever is suppose to be the "correct" political action.
>>58256 Ok libtard
>>58257 Also you are wrong because right-wing is defined as "being in favour of hierarchy and social order and that these are ineventible" while left-wing is "striving towards social equality" and such stuff... So no... you are just stupid
>>58256 >TIKhistory
(1.71 MB 480x360 not real socialism.webm)

>>58258 >right-wing is defined as "being in favour of hierarchy and social order and that these are ineventible" According to who? Here's my dictionary's definition of "right wing": <the rightist division of a group or party (C)1996 Zane Publishing, Inc. and Merriam-Webster, Incorporated. All rights reserved Which continues to: Rightist <a person with conservative political views Which leads into: Conservative <1 : preservative <2.a : of or relating to a philosophy of conservatism <2.b : of or constituting a political party professing the principles of conservatism: as <2.b.1 : of or constituting a party of the United Kingdom advocating support of established institutions <2.b.2 : progressive conservative <3.a : tending or disposed to maintain existing views, conditions, or institutions : traditional <3.b : marked by moderation or caution <a conservative estimate> <3.c : marked by or relating to traditional norms of taste, elegance, style, or manners <a conservative suit> And just to cover one last ground: Consevatism <1.a : the principles and policies of a Conservative party <1.b : the Conservative party <2.a : disposition in politics to preserve what is established <2.b : a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change <3 : the tendency to prefer an existing or traditional situation to change And if you look up what makes something"left wing": <1 : the leftist division of a group (as a political party) <2 : left 4a Left <4a : those professing views usu. characterized by desire to reform or overthrow the established order esp. in politics and usu. advocating change in the name of the greater freedom or well-being of the common man In Layman's terms, the dictionary is defining "Right wingers" as people who want to preserve society the way it is (Even if they don't like it) and only ever change it through a gradual process. MEANWHILE "Left wing" is defined as people who want to overthrow and abruptly change the system for the purposes of "The Greater Good". So with those defintions in mind, the Nazis and the Christian Nationalists are "Left wing" because they're entire program is about how they want to overthrow the reigning system (And it doesn't matter if they're justifying it as a "temporary measure", they still want to outright defy the system).
>>58260 According to everyone. Also you can be conservative and left wing lol
>>58278 >According to everyone. So you're just pulling it out of your ass and have no argument
>>58288 Literally that's how wikipedia says it is that way.
>>58289 >wikipedia as a source
>>58290 Better then your nonexistent ones. I guess
>>58291 >nonexistent <When the source is directly cited as Merriam-Webster You really have not argument, and now have to resort to playing games because your entire rant was shutdown with a simple dictionary search.
>>58256 >that being a LACK of a government Doesn't the terms "left" and "right" come from the French Revolution, in which the "left" side opposed the Crown and Altar? I know the revolution ended up being tyrannical and authoritarian, like leftist revolutions always do, but was the French Monarchy really that hands-off?

Apparently it's just coming out that Disney ripped off, shot for shot, a random fan film for Star Wars Visions. And of course the studio that did this segment are indians. A nation of shameless scammers much like China.
>>58330 So far this is like the second film project the Jeets plagiarized.
>>58367 What's the first?
>>58370 Now where's a drawfag when you need them.
>>58088 It's such a bittersweet feeling to see footage of these films. I remember child me watching flash animations and wondering what a big budget Mario movie could have been like. At worst, it would have been Nintendo making a hour and a half long cut-scene, safe and boring but acceptable. There was no way they could fuck that up... And then they didn't get Mario and Luigi's VA for the Mario movie. That alone made me not wanna touch them.
>>58380 They were always going to get new vas for the characters especially when Charles is too old to voice 5 characters. Bowser, Luigi and Toad are good, Mario is okay and Peach is serviceable. Its obvious they leaned heavily on the old Mario cartoon for nostalgia.
>>58386 See, that would make sense if they hired VAs to replicate the iconic sounds. What they did instead was get casting couch fucktoy #281 and wash out nepo jews because [brand] + [brand] is statistically more profitable than just [brand]. It's an obvious move for a suit but a ridiculous one for a person who values the Mario franchise and wants a faithful adaptation. It's even more ridiculous when you consider that Miyamoto, the one guy who would theoretically be protective over the IP, was involved and didn't do shit to stop Hollywood from smearing its sweaty, circumcised cock all over the project. Don't get me started on them ruining Peach's character because faggot activists think female characters shouldn't be feminine.
>>58401 Anon the Japanese still think they're dealing with 90s Hollywood. Nintendo's bar is the literal live action Mario movie, to them the animated movie was a breathe of fresh air. If Iwata was still alive we'd probably get a higher quality film but with the current admin in charge things could've been worse. Most of the negative things about the Mario movie could be pointed at Illumination and they aren't Jewish but French.
(8.20 MB 1280x720 jQrMlJnReEz9JFd6.mp4)

After 487 seasons, they've still got it.
>>58422 I can't tell if this is suppose to be a satire of things like attached vid or dead serious.
>>58423 I think it's supposed to be a k-pop parody but they tried to use dynamic cg animation & it does not work at all.
>>58422 >How do you do, fellow kids? In my mind The Simpsons should is an entity perpetually stuck in the 90's. It's a satirical slice of life comedy chronicling Midwest American family life, and so much has changed since the time of its inception anything that isn't as down to earth or simple as "Bart gets an F" or "Marge opens a beauty parlor" or something will always feel uncanny.
>>58445 The nuclear family archetype in media that Simpsons was parodying doesn't even exist anymore. Nowadays there's a stronger emphasis on non-standard family structures and how it's okay to be fatherless or have two moms. AFAIK Simpsons hasn't done any satire with these kinds of structures in the same way they did back in the 90s, in a dramatic, sometimes cynical way. It's neutered to the point of it turning into "Homer buys Ipad" or settling with cold takes like "Rich people don't care about the environment".
Not sure if this is worth its own thread so posting it here. The Bloodborne Kart tranny has kickstarter a shitty internet cartoon. https://archive.is/szuyw
>>58447 Yeah because even mild satirical criticism isn't allowed anymore. This is the same show where they hired new voice actors who sound nothing like the original characters just to have minorities voice minorities.
>>58448 What is it with trannies naming themselves lilith? And that motherfucker is butt ugly even if he was an actual woman he'd look ugly
>>58450 Edgy rebellion against their Christian parents.
>>58445 It gets ridiculous when they advance the timeline so much Homer is now born in the same year Bart was when the show started.
>>58453 Sliding timescales have always been dumb. If comics weren't enough proof already.
>>58448 >kickstarter a shitty internet cartoon What is with all these fucking Kickstarters? What happened to people taking a financial risk in putting something out?
>>58455 Because who's going to buy it? No major distributor has any good taste in animation and nobody wants to invest in Western animation for misplaced reasoning (as in, they think people want Hazbin Hotel and anime, not because Western animation is currently trash). Look at Space King, they survive on patreon, merch and a long track record of well animated flash parodies.

Girlfailure Supergirl trailer tomorrow.
>>58758 I don't care
(14.12 MB 1280x720 Supergirl 2026 trailer.mp4)

Trailer's out. I don't hate it. Yes it's a depressive girlfailure Kara but it's obvious by the end she'll go through a character arc. There's very little actual resemblance to the Tom King comic they supposedly used for the basis. Which is obviously a huge plus because Tom King's a retarded writer. We're confirmed getting Lobo in it on some level. I will give detractors that, despite Gunn not directing it, this trailer makes the movie look like a Guardians of the Galaxy clone.
(100.76 KB 655x1000 supergirl-1984-poster.jpg)

>>58789 I wonder how watchable it will be compared to the original 1984 film. Besides Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm also reminded of Captain Marvel.
>>58789 I don't get it. What does this have to do with Supergirl? It just seems like a generic trailer that cold be applied to almost anything, but they decided to slap a well-known property to it.
>>58798 Just like Woman of Tomorrow, the comic it's loosely based on.
>>58789 It comes off more desperate than reassuring if you have to give so many conditionals before saying to give it a chance (not that anons should). It's a flawed foundation to start anyway: Tom King's execution or not, is there any merit to reinventing Supergirl as a sad drunken mess as her image to normalfags when you know movie synergy'll bleed in?
>>58800 Comic Supergirl has already sucked more often than being beloved. Pre-Crisis is just all about boys boys boys. 2000s had some edge to her at least. New 52 onwards version is poorly repeating those beats with nothing remarkable to show for it. So yeah I'm willing to give this a chance. She's one of those characters who just doesn't have a set good things going for her because writers don't know what to do with her.
>>58801 >She's one of those characters who just doesn't have a set good things going for her because writers don't know what to do with her. Isn't that almost ALWAYS what happens when it comes to female counter-parts, and female characters overall on occasion? That the writers focus too much on the fact that the character is a girl and never develop anything beyond that, and so are constantly trying to find excuses to include her or make her seem important. I sort of noticed this when I played through Conduit 2. Where the devs where trying to make it out as this big thing that they added female characters to a story (The first game practically has an all-male cast), and the result is that one character basically becomes a glorified secretary who never actually does anything and the other is a carrier of the game's macguffin.
>>58805 I'd say so. It's definitely true for Wonder Woman. Writers to this day have no idea what to do with her.
>>58806 I've read enough manga to think of a story, easy. The problem is that these writers don't want THOSE kinds of stories. Wonder Woman starts off as a culture clash story about an Amazonian being exposed to the reality that there is a world outside of her little island. Given that Steve Trevor is a WWII pilot, she leaves on the belief that the Nazi war machine is going to conquer the globe and that it will not just stop at "Man's world" as Themyscira could just as easily be next. So she leaves in defiance of her mother and the island's inhabitants to "protect" them. She helps the Allies and they win. Short, simple, easy. If they want to continue it, the story would pick up with Diana return to the island in triumph, only to then be declared as an exile for defying the wishes of the Amazonians. Someone could even twist the knife further by pointing out that by interfering in WWII, Diana helped bring the USSR into power and created an evil that has far more long-lasting consequences than even Hitler. She's stripped of her title as Princess and no longer has a home. Steve offers to bring her in, and so the series becomes primarily about the culture clash she faces being an Ancient Greecian warrior living in 1950's America. Things can spread from there with her getting involved in skirmishes around the globe either to fight Communism or because of something having to do with the Greek Gods. However I also see a part of the problem when writing this out because all of this would have to be detached from the great DC Universe. And that's just to start. Then there's also how people would use this series to preach about how "evil" people were in the past, lecture the reader about their own sins, and make it all issues about "social justice". Last thing I could think of that would be an issue is that the modern writers also wouldn't allow Diana to actually be a woman on occasion and be vulnerable. After all, she is a person, she has needs and wants. And women desire men just as much as a man desires a woman. However these people cannot ever allow that because allowing a character to be "vulnerable" means that said character isn't perfect. And they cannot ever fathom the possibility that it's pefectly fine for a character to have flaws.

>>58829 >Don't know where you got that idea from. Because I literally have zero idea who is attached to what these days because that's how little of a shit I give about these projects. So when I just saw a name, and it looked similar to "Adi Shankar" at a distance, I thought it was him.
>>58832 How foolish you are then.
(465.70 KB 640x480 It's just sex and violence.png)

Could someone help me solve a paradox? Why does the hyper-violent nature of shows like HazHot/HellBoss and Leddit & Memey (Or even the Harley Quinn cartoon) come across as downright tiresome and unentertaining, but Smiling Friends and Space King pull the same thing and doesn't have the same problems? The only reason I can think of is that the latter show is in on the joke that it knows how stupid it all is, and the former doesn't spend all of it's time stuck up it's ass trying to act "smart".
>>58865 Smiling Friends & Space King are made around their jokes while celebrating creativity. Not being made by a fat bitch doing her blasphemous therapy with her Seth Rogen style comedy.
>>58865 politics
>>58865 Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss it's superfluous and adds nothing while the show pretends it's mature, edgy and deep. It's like that teenager that swears constantly in an attempt to sound more mature and cool while being scared to leave the house. More or less the same criticism of the show being safe edgy. The show would actually be better if the characters weren't constantly swearing and acting so nonchalant about the violence around them. The swinging tone definitely hurts both shows and makes the attempts at drama hard to care about. Space King the entire point is it's supposed to be for teen boys and men that find over the top violence funny when done right while not taking itself overly seriously. It's both a parody and inspired by the earlier editions of 40k that still had a sense of humor before everything got increasingly super serious and "realistic" over the past two decades to the point of GW trying to retcon stuff because it's not politically correct enough for them now. Smiling Friends the setting being this surreal place of weird colorful characters where cartoon violence isn't unusual is also the entire point. It's very much the absurdist humor that Adult Swim got known for with shows like ATHF. It helps that the characters sometimes acknowledge how weird things are as if they're normal people that live in this surreal world. TLDR; Vivzie's shows are basically classic Tumblr/Deviantart that desperately wants to be seen as cool and mature all the while being overly bright, cheerful, and handling anything serious with kid gloves to avoid offending anyone. No different than furries that want their super special garish rainbow colored monstrosities to also be cool and serious. Smiling Friends and Space King own what they are and beyond Youtube or network censors don't really care about causing offense and not trying to be more mature than it actually is. They know their audiences and aren't ashamed of that.
>>58865 Ditto what my previous anon said they're made by people who never pass their puberty.
>>58868 It's also sorta like youtube poop. Someone who isn't familiar with the CDI jokes might find a simple audio swap funny but after the 50th time it becomes boring and unfunny. However, a creative pooper might still be able to sneak in the exact same punchline in a clever way, making it funny again. Shows that rely heavily on ultra-violence and jokes about sex and drugs come off as immature and cringeworthy because there's no novelty for an adult. The punchline CAN work but when the show's selling point is it being an "adult comedy" where Superman drinks cum and Chip gets cucked, you need to find another way to catch the adult audience off-guard. Hell, adult jokes snuck in children shows are pretty hilarious just because of how out of nowhere they come from, like "Daddy's trophy" or Timmy's dad suggesting that he regrets having him. Peter Griffin brutally punching a child for 35 seconds isn't.

<‘The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants’ Director & Team Chart Their Inventive 3D CG Voyage https://archive.fo/s56nk >The feature was first developed as a streaming project starring Mr. Krabs, and already included the Flying Dutchman and the journey to the Underworld, when Drymon came on board to work with long-running exec producers and showrunners Marc Ceccarelli and Vince Waller on the script. Their first draft was good enough to convince the studio to turn it into a theatrical feature with SpongeBob himself as the star. “That’s when it had a lot of changes,” Drymon says. “We brought in some new writers, and I helped fashion the story from there, but the core of the story was always there.”

>>58875 I haven't see in yet so, no idea.
>>58875 The entire point of Space King is being immature since it's meant as a parody, Haz-Helluva and Rick & Morty play things straight.
>>58875 I think the main difference is that space king doesn’t come across as a “fuck you dad” show.
>>58883 >space king doesn’t come across as a “fuck you dad” show When boiled down, isn't the entire show essentially about a bunch of kids looking for their cool space dad?
>>58789 OH FUCK!!! I just realize, isn't this the plot to Hancock?
>>58885 No. Not at all.
>>58884 Sure, but it's still more of a "I love you Dad, and hope you come back with that milk bottle", as opposed to "fuck you dad". >>58885 Only in the superficial sense of "drunk, vagabond superhero becomes legit".
