It's a fantastic movie with an amazing soundtrack, great attention to detail, and a fun story. It's also very creative for a sci-fi movie, what with the solar ships and all. The intro portion (particularly the 12 years later part) gives me goosebumps. I actually saw this one in cinema with my dad and sister, instead of Pirates of the Caribbiean. I really, really liked Treasure Planet. I still like it.

I think the only complaint I have is that Ben is annoying as fuck and him showing up so late makes it even harder to give a shit about him as a character.

I put second to Titan A.E on my list of favorite animated sci-fi movies. As one anon puts it, the soundtrack is phenomenal. Not a fan of the Goo Goo Dolls. But "I'm Still Here" will always be a favorite of mine.

Like they took a chance with something new and then watched as nobody went to the theaters. As an aside, when Dinosaur came out, there was merch all over the place... for about a month. Then it all ended up destroyed or in a dollar store because no one bought it. Which sucked some dick, let me tell you, because my son LOVED that movie and trying to find ANYTHING for him to play with from that movie was impossible outside of a garage sale or a lucky find in a discount section.

I just realized something... if Disney INSISTS on remaking all it's animated films as real/3D, Treasure Planet deserves it far more than any other. I mean, they'd still fuck it up with woke shit, but it would be a lot more entertaining than fucking Cruella.

>>13907 Not to come across as defensive, but Disney did alright by its 1967 and 1994 adoptions of the Jungle Book. Though, the 1994 film could have been more true to the 1942 film, with Kaa talking. If they gave him a speaking line of dialoguebefore he killed Boone, that would have been something. The 2016 film was just them trying to make money off a reinvented stone square wheel.

I loved how deliciously evil Scroop's VA made him sound. I looked it up and it's Michael Wincott who seemingly shows up once in a blue moon to act in something and then disappear for a couple of years.
