Usagi Yojimbo Anonymous 04/23/2025 (Wed) 14:52:50 No. 49081
Let's talk about Anthropomorphic Samurai animals in Feudal Japan. Ever heard of Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo? It has a long-running comic series, TMNT crossovers and recently a Netflix show which is divisive in terms of quality but I enjoyed it for what it was. What are your thoughts on it?
>>49081 >recently a Netflix show first time i've heard of it. Is it just retellings of the comics stories or something entirely different?

>>49084 It's a completely new thing set hundreds of years after the original Usagi where his descendant is a Yokai hunter (maybe Sasuke finally convinced him to carry the Demon Queller title lol). There are some flashbacks to original Usagi but mostly the story is self contained In the pic you can see Gen, Usagi, Chizu and Kitsune's descendants from one of the early episodes. Kitsune is pretty great in this one lol. Doesn't seem like it'll get a second season from the looks of it, but what can ya do when it was aimed at kids. I do wish they just animated the comic storyline, like that TMNT crossover where Jei and Usagi have a battle after he helps the Ninja Turtles to defeat the main villain.
>>49081 I wish Murderanon was here to Story time this.
>>49106 We can only hope he sees this or somebody manages to tell him so we can continue the tradition.
>>49089 I wish they had at least stuck to Stan's art style more, if the story and setting were no go. Yuichi is the only one who doesn't look off and that's just because he was ported into the comic as Yukichi.
>>49106 >>49110 So there's no word on if he moved to another chan to storytime somewhere else?
>>49411 there was a brief "greatest hits" storytime on wapchan, featuring such classics as "muh rock" and hombre rodriguez.
>>49411 Knowing them (not personally, just from years of participating in the storytime), they probably will wait until 4chan is back for at least another week or 2 before attempting to continue the storytime somewhere else. If the last issue they storytime was the drums one, then it shouldn't be an issue to complete the storytime even if things take a while to recover there or somewhere else.

Good morning, I want to mating press Tomoe, Noriko and Inazuma. How are you guys holding up?
>>49544 Pretty much in the same boat as you fren
>>49469 Well let's hope we hear word soon
>>49544 >How are you guys holding up? Currently contemplating rocks. I guess you could say I've hit rock bottom.
>>49084 Its tje Usagi equivalent of Loonatics Unleashed.
Allowing the storytime to be interrupted is truly the worst thing the mods have ever done
>>49469 There was some talk on plus4chan about how anything that was storytimed on altchans would be reposted when 4chan comes back for anyone who didn't see the ghost post pointing them to new threads. Murderanon also mentioned this place a few times before posting on wapchan, so there's a chance they do resume here if the return takes long enough.

>>49706 4chan is gonna be in a read-only state temporarily once it gets back up, then we’ll have to wait for them to actually go live
>>49706 I know nothing of what goes on in any of the bunkers nor do I really care outside the refugee situation but they're free to storytime as they wish.
>>49767 Is there any etiquette here regarding storytimes? Probably the obvious "don't post images during it" but I've noticed a storytimes here having 3 images per post, is that because of something specific like saving bump numbers or anything or is just the style of particular anons?
>>49811 There's no actual rules for storytimes, just finish them and dont become another powergirl autist or "The Pervert" anon. I think the ones with three images per post are like that just to stretch out the thread. In 4/co/ a 20 page issue is 20 posts, on 8/co/ its just 4 posts, 6 posts if the cover is its own introduction and send off.
