While they're haven't been any new CYOAs for me to post, 8chan.moe is experiencing some hosting issues that makes uploading files spotty. The site is hosted in Moldova and the Ukranians and Russians are messing with the local net infrastructure over there, resulting in the spotty coverage. According to the pinned thread on /v/. A basic guide on how to create a CYOA, lifted from r/nsfwcyoa

Sorry I haven't posted so much, I took a break at the beginning of Feb because nothing good was being made, cue months later and now I'm behind. I'll slowly begin posting more stuff hopefully.

A note, I'm seeing AI art used in some CYOA created both on reddit and 4chan. You can post it, I won't create a rule against it, as the art used is generally of a high quality to accompany the text box it goes with.

Maybe we should have a thread specifically for r/nsfwcyoa's banned CYOAs and users, drama, double standards, and hypocrisy since it's been brought up few times before in this thread? Seems they can't go a week or two without something stupid or hypocritical and it seems like they're getting more puritanical with time since reposted CYOAs from years ago that didn't attract negative attention can get quickly removed. Maybe just a thread for CYOAs that got banned elsewhere? Recently the Daughteru Protectoru CYOA got removed because they freaked out about the last row. Same story of double standards involving various fetishes as usual. It wouldn't bother me so much if r/nsfwcyoa and r/makeyourchoice hadn't gotten so popular to the point of CYOA creators self censoring because of redditfags or people getting mad if you point out or even suggesting image based CYOAs originated on imageboards and lacked this sort of imposed censorship and drama.

I'm not aware who and where is hosting the allsync archive, so I thought I'd ask. As it stands, I redownload the whole thing every couple of month when the... say, mood gets me. I've shitload of bandwidth so I don't really care, but I still think whoever hosts this may want to look into providing incremental downloads, via git or rsync or whatever.

>>1727 From what I know, the hoster is active on the 4chan side. On /cyoag/, on the discord and even appear on reddit sometimes. Allsync was the next solution after the archive use to be hosted on mediafire but got deleted. For downloads, he recently split the named creators section because finding a single file in 80gig took too long. A torrent back up clone could be useful if the archive ever dies but the anon who looks after it still updates it every month so I think it's okay for now.

FYI the new verification system for 8chan.moe makes archiving impossible now, so anything made or updated now can't be archived for later.

Cool that I found where at least some of cyoar went; I like it here, I think that even if 4chan does somehow manage to unshit it's goddamn pants, we shouldn't migrate back. Technically, the archive does exist, it's just hard to navigate, requires manual backing up, and destroys media. Navigation and backup can be handled by the threadslave, but media being lost is a hard sell. Best workaround for media is requiring the original desciptive filename so it's immediately obvious what was posted even if it can't be viewed. The thread cycle is pivotal to discussion as a new thread make previous discussion cease and allows new topics and CYOA to be viewed. I'd say keep the image limit, but lower the post limit to 500. No thread should last longer than 2 days. Most of what disgusts /CYOAG/ about /CYOAR/ is niche fetish content and the belief that sexualization degrades the hobby. Otherwise the hate is mostly one way. As such /CYOAR/ should have a containment thread and maybe be broken up between extreme fetish content and mild sexuality but that last part is up to /CYOAR/. While having all of the one CYOA threads is neat, there is zero discussion for vast majority, many of them are lewd and not spoiler marked. I'd say delete them, but if all goes well, they'll get bumped off anyways. Not being able to post pdfs is quite bad, if it wasn't so, Spirit Conscript could be posted and kickstart discussion. Maybe we can get EntropistAnon to release Conquest here? Everything should be kept in Three thread until there is enough activity to have multiple discussion threads. First thread is a general CYOA discussion, second thread is a CYOA creation thread seperate from meta, and third is lewd CYOA containment. Anons will do as anons do though so organic threads should not be pruned unless made in obvious bad faith. The last point of contention for CYOAs is that of exposure, one of the main reasons for staying on halfchan is that there was enough people being brought in to keep popular. This site however is a deterent to anyone who could be intrested and the board is isolated enough from the rest of the site that there is virtually no crossover. With the amount of refugees there should be alot of opportunity to intruduce people to the hobby, but we badly positioned to do so, maybe we can promote board specific CYOAs to apeal to them? If such a scheme can become a staple of chan culture maybe it can occupy a roll similar to Wojacks or greentext and end those worries. Threads are legitimized by the presence of discussion, not CYOA. For the potential new general, the thread starter should be something like Order vs Chaos, Spirit Conscript, or Entropist. Something that envokes ire and intrest, hell maybe even Tok, as long as he doesn't start schizoing and posting porn.

I wanted to do a banner on Mati but the autoshrink on the banner made the text too small. I think it came out readable by removing some of the text.
