>>13361 >>13362 Is it normal that I don't read almost anything recommended here? It's just that whenever I try, I end up finding some nonsense about new thought or new age hippie stuff, and it becomes unbearable how they mix everything together. The truth is, I only like traditional theurgy and other magical orders things about magic. I don't know why the hell they mix all that hippie stuff with magic wtf is merkaba energy? wtf is psy-mind powers? what the fucking hell is ''chakra-akashic-para-nirvana whatever shit they mix up? Seriously, reading Crowley mixing and exploring yoga techniques is one thing. Reading the Golden Dawn taking influence and techniques from the chinese book The Secret of the Golden Flower to create their energy-visualization rituals is another thing. Reading Dion Fortune and the western yoga and other cringe shit of psy powers is another But I think this is ridiculous and more like acting like an idiot than wanting to reach a magical path just by mixing nonsense. I think it would be easier to go to LOA and deal with the nonsense of sigils than this shit. One day here i even read some nonsense about theosophy and ascended masters, which comes from a fucking American brainwashing cult. There's even that Falun Gong garbage, but they took original Chinese techniques and adapted them to their cult lore. Do I really have to read academic stuff to get into the world of traditional magic? I no longer feel like I'm on Fringe, I feel more like I'm on Cringe. Maybe I'm blind, but I feel like I'm just reading about contradictory systems and I can't create my own because it's fucking ridiculous. I feel like I only read trash and pop culture crumbs compared to magical lodges, I'm tired of this shit.
>>13364 If you were willing to look at the energy behind texts instead of getting caught up in semantics you'd be able to understand it easily. You really need to learn to humble yourself and try to understand other peoples' point of view rather than instinctually taking an adversarial stance towards anything the moment it starts going against the grain of your thoughts. If you did that you might just be able to learn something.
>>13364 Maybe you could try reading the corpus hermetica and books from long before the new age existed. Books from antiquity and medieval times.
>>13364 robert anton wilson speaks about reality tunnels and the nature of perception. Things are just put into unique terms and structures to fix the specific reality tunnel they are operating in.

This is a more accurate and faithful translation of the original. Good luck.
>>13369 Nah, the Kybalion is great for beginners. Only armchair academic types who treat magic as a branch of sociology care that it's "not real hermeticism".
>>13372 >Nah, the Kybalion is great for beginners. Only armchair academic types who treat magic as a branch of sociology care that it's "not real hermeticism". I agree but I just suggested older hermetic literature because >>13364 said he wasn't interested in New Thought.
>>13364 >I don't know why the hell they mix all that hippie stuff with magic >wtf is merkaba energy? wtf is psy-mind powers? what the fucking hell is ''chakra-akashic-para-nirvana whatever shit they mix up? If you don't understand the vocabulary, why not do some web searches or use an online dictionary for yoga or kabbalah? You're going to face new terminology if you decide to learn new things. That said I've skimmed the recommended books and found nothing useful in them, so I looked elsewhere. I posted those I've actually used(to varying degree) above >>1102 >>1103 >>1104 >>2965 >>2966 tulpa.info is also a good resource.
Fren's Library (from Frenschan). Mostly politics, but some interesting stuff, like pre-holocaust literature. https://archive.org/details/frenschan
is khans stuff worth looking at? I never followed him or his work.
>>13471 It's quite basic. He deleted his youtube channel tho. His stuff explains some basics, but nothing really groundbreaking. You can skim it fast to make your judgement.
>>13520 I disagree. If anon is at the level where he will benefit from Khans material, he should study (and practice) it thoroughly. It benefits no one to pretend we are all ascended masters who know and can do everything about magic. Even Elmo's ABC can teach you something if you need to learn it.
>>13565 I don't know what level is Anon at. Khan's PDF has a bunch of techniques that were somewhat widespread back then and Khan's stuff helped those newcomers who knew nothing of energy work and other basics. I read his stuff when he posted them and used some of his techniques. I had results with them, but didn't become an ascended master from them. I don't know what are the standards Anon has. Khan deleted his youtube channel for a reason. If he was here today he would probably write his own posts completely differently from the PDF that was made a decade ago. People at Neophyte level might benefit from it from a lot. Everyone should make their judgement if it's good or not. It's not a very long PDF compared to most magical books. Anyone can read through it within a single afternoon. And I think Anon meant the PDF which is posted in this thread. If Anon wants to look at every post that Khan made through the archives then he is in for a long journey ahead.
Can I share philosophy videos in this thread or should I share them in the intrusive thoughts thread?
>>13593 You should make a new thread for /fringe/ videos

>>13601 What about it sucked?
>>13607 Nothing but books.
>>13744 >Slightly lower the gaze behind closed lids until awareness rests between the eyebrows This blew my mind when I first did it. It's not a typo. You lower the gaze slightly, and your attention lands on the third eye. It's subtle, and if you turn your eyeballs downward too much, it doesn't work. But if yuo do it just right, it clicks, and there's a decoupling of your attention from your physical body "inwards".
>>13744 >>13745 You post some good stuff. Thank you.
>>13749 Sadly, I used ChatGPT like a fool and the instructions are misleading. Turning the light around (回光返照), for example, consists in observing the observer, not the “heart center” as I put in that PDF. I’m sorry. These instructions at the end are better: Perplexity AI: Meditation technique called 回光返照 https://www.perplexity.ai/search/meditation-technique-called-hu-ilHAdbqYS_iMrQQcPIdHRg
I reported my own post and I hope BO deletes that PDF before it starts spreading. The details are a mess. ChatGPT really did a number on this and it’s my fault for not double checking.
Sepher Ha-Bahir “The Book of Illumination” Early kabbalistic text.
Sepher Ha-Razim, the book of mysteries, english translation. A kabbalistic book on magic which was banned in earlier centuries for being too occult. Compiled into this format in the early 1900s for the purpose of modern research. This is not the format it was originally passed around in, which can be assumed to have been more fragmented.
>>14473 >look through my 100+ gigabytes large occult library >this is my only book with the word apotheosis in it's title I forget what gems I hoard in most cases. Was certain I have more books with the apotheosis word in it's title. I should renew my book hoarder armchair occultist loisense and start getting books again..
Khemet = black, reference to the black soil of the Nile Al-khemet = black arts, when Egyptian arts are translated to Arabic Alchemy = when the Arabic version of Egyptian arts are brought to Europe, also called black arts or black magic Worth reading for the intro, but the rest of this is confused beyond description. Just read the book of Genesis, it's the exact same content but structured so it can be used for something.

>>13364 Greetings!, I that anon >>13364 In the end I got reading a lot of books of the old world of western magic. I recommend these books and their references, yes, the reference inside the books of more old books-grimories to start to read about the topic. >Complete book of ceremonial Magick - Llewellyn's editorial a lot of authors, academics into western esoterism history and practical guides, a lot of source info and reference books of old magic systems or ideas and how they work. Very dense around the topic of story of magic. >How to study enochian magic - A special report from the Institute for hermetic Studies by Mark Stavish Short book-Essay about Enochian Magick (in GD, Crowley, Dee etc methods), very informative. >S.S.O.T.B.M.E revised an Essay on magic - Ramsey Dukes Incredible essay-book, explain in a easy way to the the Atheistic-Rational-Empirist-Cientific the concept and how magic or magick work by a practioner. generally uses examples from the mind of a scientist and that of a practitioner of magic giving their answers to each topic. This is the first time I've seen somewhat more scientific answers about magic without ending up in technobabble or psychobabble with quantum mysticism jargon. Very enjoyable to read. It is quite good as an introduction to the evolution of ceremonial magic from old times to GD to Thelemites, chaotic and postmodern magic. Ramsey Dukes have a channel on youtube, a very cool dude. >Magical Techniques and Implements present in Graeco-Egyptian Magical Papyri, Byzantine Greek Solomonic Manuscript and European Grimories: Transmission, Continuity and Commonality by Stephen Skinner Wonderful book around old western magic. >Buddhist Magic: Divination, Healing, and Enchantment through the Ages by Sam Van Schaik You start reading about Buddhist practices and end up reading about practices related to Indians, Persians, and Zoroastrians, even Chinese and finally, sometimes, the world of Western magic. >Abrahadabra - Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thelemic Magick by Rodney Orpheus Good introduction for Crowley methods and ideas >Perdurabo anthology of text of Aleisteir Crowley Good if you want all books of Crowley from poems to the rituals >The Aleister Crowley Manual - Thelemic magick for modern times Thelemic rituals and a lot of explanations and direct info with Liber 777 correspondences, philosophy, rituals and more of Thelema. >Oven-Ready Chaos by Phil Hine (ver 1.2 1992-1997) (This book is a pre-version of chaos condens if i remember) Incredible good introduction to Chaos magick, more good and without dogmas of Liber Null and Psychonaut in my opinion, just make your rituals. >Fourth Book Of Occult Philosophy by Henry Cornelius Agrippa's Useful. >The Magus by Francis Barrett Same as above but with more Christian motifs inside >Any book of Levi >Any book of Porphyry (I recommend on images or on statues ) >Swedenborg's books, correspondences etc >The Science of Self-Hypnosis - The Evidence based way to hypnotise yourself by Adam Eason Easy and scientific book about the topic of self hypnosis >Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson >Angel tech by Antero Alli >The Eight-Circuit Brain by Antero Alli (updated ver of the above same book) Books about a very rare model of magick, Just do the exercizes. >The New Hermetics: 21st Century Magick for Illumination and Power By Jason Augustus Newcomb and Lon Milo Duquette Cool book with a lot of techniques >Cosmic Trigger: The Final secret of the Illuminati by Robert Anton Wilson
[Expand Post]>All the Cosmic Trigger books. Cool books >Sex Magicians by Michael William West Biography of famous and infamous sex magicians >My Life With the Spirits: The Adventures of a Modern Magician by Lon milo Duquette Cool biography around magic and rituals >Lion of Light by Robert Anton Wilson New book of biography of Aleister Crowley >Magick 101 (old maybe logic academy forum entry) The entries and posts in the Maybe Logic Academy archive on magic 101 are very good. They even teach you how to summon deities and other rituals that get straight to the point without any nonsense. It's all very pure chaos magick. RAW even explains how to perform many rituals and concepts freely in other places and forums without fluff. >>13369 >EESWE >Hermetic Philosophy This is good.
>>20572 don't forget to do the rituals you read about
