Obscure postings Anonymous 06/26/2025 (Thu) 23:55:52 No. 12520
Thread for the obscure or non-mainstream things. The nature of which tends to be detailed, specific and local. Urban legends from your city, relating to a specific street. Theories about science from the 1800s which are now seen as so odd that they no longer count as science. Folklore beings with specific rites associated with them, which are unheard of in most parts of the world. Your own theories about the nature of reality, which are too narrow to be brought up anywhere else from a lack of direct relevance. Post and discuss similar topics in this thread. Things which are not in the spotlight could contain hints and keys to our own practice today!
>>12520 People in my town spread urban legends about me for sure, but I am unsure if those fit into this thread.
>>12526 Tell me about your urban legends in a separate thread, please.
>>12533 They are not that cool and quite local. I don't really want them to appear on the world wide web. Not to mention, I am not the one who spreads them. Most of the time I have no idea who the hell started to spread those stories even or why.
>>12541 Oh come on, please share at least one urban legend about you. It could be modified if you fear it can be traced back to you in any way. Are you the town recluse?
>I don't really want them to appear on the world wide web. Then why bring it up? No wonder you haven't got your hat yet.

>>12520 Ok, I'gonna tell you everything >the UFO that a relative of mine saw when I was not born yet, some relatives of mine traveling by train in the north of my country (1980 maybe?) said they saw a UFO when they looked out of the window. I don't think they were delirious, however, in the north of my country in that region for decades I heard that there are U.S. bases, so today i can assume that they saw a prototype of an antigravity spy plane or one of those things.
>>12520 >hidden dangerous sects... but in plain sight in the capital of my country there is an abysmal amount of sects and new age cults hidden like mccdojos in yoga or even martial arts centers. it is something alarming sometimes but it is rarely talked about and they still persist hidden here. sometimes i doubt if these guys are not just made up thing by the government or something... other times you can find the genealogy of the cult to other cult. there're some hidden in the countryside and i dont know what the fuck they do here.
>>12520 >Common myths My country had a large number of european immigrants at one period so they brought their political ideologies and folkloric myths. many can be traced back to ireland, spain, france, germany, belgium, etc. A common myth in the homes of native-mixed with europe families is that of >the black dog with red eyes >woman in white (like a banshee or a white ghost woman) But one of the strangest myths is that one of a >blond child with blue eyes the strange thing about this myth is that it is from the native indigenous and predates the European myths which is strange and unusual. the indigenous natives here do not have blond or Anglo-Saxon characteristics. the myths is strange and odd bacause it's just a child but blonde with blue eyes, pale and it's like a tribal or feral children from the woods that do jokes and sometimes is sinister-evil or good to natives around the myths.

>>12520 >The werewolves/werewolfs or Lycanthrope In the north of the country it has been said for decades that there are werewolves killing people, the issue is that it has been an excuse since the time of dictatorships to make people disappear (secretly by military force) along with UFOs kidnappings. the problem is that even today that myth persists and some people at some places just... dissapear. there is a common myth about abandoned country houses in nowhere in the countryside which inside may have a Lycanthrope locked up in chains and get let free sometimes. and there're many of anecdotes about this thing in that region. Popular and common? yes, but they never talk about this on media bacause thing just happens and maybe it's just a big animal.

>>12520 >Prankster elves On the trade and travel routes between the neighboring country it is said among truckers and hitchhikers that sometimes they see elves how do they usually look? look like small humans with mocking faces and hats. it is said that when you see them they take your breath away and if you learn where you live they take away your ability to speak and vital energy until you promise them that you will not tell where they live as a deal to protect their elves families. usually they destroy the tires of cars, trucks or even make them lose things and eat sweet things from those bags they find.

>>12520 >the sinister dwarf between the borders of my country and the neighboring country there is another myth which is a sinister dwarf, it is common for children and adults to say that they hear a whistle or a voice calling them in the bushes. they are always asked not to go there for any reason and to ignore the subject because the guy hurts people or makes them disappear. It is very fast and agile and usually shows itself in the moonlight.

>>12520 >the devil's or witch cave but... modern in all the regions of my country there is a common myth of a cave or haunted place or where witches gather, the curious thing is that the myth says they are not common or touristy places and do not appear on the map. sometimes they are presented to people when they go for a walk and it is a form of offer of the devil or something to learn the arts of black devil magic or black witchcraft if they dare to enter. it can be a cave, an abandoned house that was never there, an entrance to a basement in the middle of nowhere. seems like a drunk-mens myth but it is so common that many people seem to see things that were never there and when they tell about it no one ever saw them and they cease to exist afterwards in the countryside. sound like a Scholomance to me.

>>12520 >the light that moves on the wires the country people are sometimes very ignorant or very intelligent I hear what they say and a couple of times they told me that at night they see a light come out of the ground, move through the wood, concrete and metal that holds the cables in the field and see that light move miles and miles between wire to wire I know they are not electrical faults because they know what they are like, I don't think they were drunk either. The funny thing about this is that the failed wires usually make an unbearable noise, when this thing is on the cables-wires according to what they told me it doesn't make any sound and can suddenly stop and go back and further or even get down and continue around ground so it's a living thing than a wired phenomena.
Thanks Anon for contributing! This will surely make OP happy! >>13052 A swede tripfag called tipp encountered them. They bullied him so hard he had to close down fringebay. Sadly this is not an urban legend. It actually happened. >>13057 I have something like that too. We are friends. I think?

>>12520 >The book of fairies when i was a child my mother had a curious book it was a modern industrial book not the necronomicon, anon about fairies. It had drawings and descriptions of fairies and their elemental forms and where to find them and so on. on one page it described a somewhat detailed ritual (although it was a somewhat childish book the fire fairies scared me) which said that one had to sit where a cat sat, have a twig in one hand and a stone on the other and there was another process i forget which called the fairies. I don't know what happened to the book, I think it got wet and we threw it away but it is no longer here. I think my garden was a magical place until I lost that book.
>>12520 >three knocks on the ceiling a myth here worthy of the fear of everything you can experience is that the three knocks on the roof, is an indication of an unwanted visitor or thing in your house, the problem is that it's not just three knocks, but three knocks at a specific rhythm and time. once in my house it happened and it was really scary although I realized later that it was just the trees. The funny thing about this is that I remember that the temperature dropped a lot at that very moment, I saw it as paranormal or unholy for a few seconds but then I saw it as something normal.

>>12520 >The singing or whistles rocks somewhere in the countryside i don't know where, there are some rocks with holes in the middle which when the wind passes through them make musical sounds. ignore the photo of rock/stones in sand and stonehenge bacause I find any one on a grassfields no one has the slightest idea who left them there or for what purpose but they are mesmerizing to see and hear. I don't know if it is a myth or a practice of something or why these are there or why these thing appear in other places (maybe it just that) internet say nothing about the topic like these not exist. these appear in countryside grassfields and high-places grassfield, i dont know who or how the fuck they appear but they do sound with the wind. >how these thing sound? well maybe something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9NQl10YVtU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h12GbsLZNjk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAOzegnHg1g
>>12520 >the black-eyes double here is a myth in which sometimes one meets a doppelanger of another person in one location while the other person is in another place, the funny thing is that they are never in direct contact with the double when they see him because they do common things that the original person does and are very ignorable as if they had a very low profile. but if they happen to touch him and see his face it is common to say that you see his eyes as black as the abyss. among my relatives it has happened that sometimes they wonder where their acquaintance, they wonder why they were in a certain place and sometimes the answer to that was just ‘'I wasn't there’' or ‘'it wasn't me’' something that other people here also told me and it is not an isolated phenomenon. for a while I thought they were just forgetful or a local folkloric joke but then it happened to me and it left me a little in shock. I tried to rationalize that maybe they saw people wearing the same or similar clothes as me but it doesn't make sense. the closest thing that happened to me was that a relative saw another relative in the hospital and he ignored him when he was actually across town. Also I see a relative outside my house doing chores when in fact he was never there. and yes, they were all alive at the time but they never actually told me that they saw these doubles after they died or something, the people need to be alive maybe like a mirrored version of one.

>>12520 >>13064 >visitation after death related to the above, there is a myth here and it became terrifying when it happened to someone I know. I don't know if it is related to the catholic world or to spiritualism, but a girl told me an anecdote that once a friend visited her knocking on the door of her house and her friend look emaciated, very pale and she didn't look well. She told me that her friend just went here to greet her and told her that she was leaving, she didn't explain where or more and gave her a hug. the next day she found out that she had died that same day at dawn and that it was impossible for her to greet her that day at that hour and that moment. maybe she just came to greet her from the afterlife who fuck knows. according to the myth god gives you the opportunity to visit someone you love and you have a lot of connection, I don't know, I don't believe in the catholic or spiritualist stuff but it sounds nice to me.
>>12520 >Little red riding hood or the lady in red in the woods here we don't have big forests because the urban area took almost all of them and the ones that exist are reserves or are further south. there is a myth and i guess it is common myth in which in the woods a woman in red appears to you if you go far away the people who are dedicated to running for hobby here sometimes I heard that they see her but they just ignore her. she never ever approaches you if you don't approach her first and no one ever sees her face. she looks like she is in bright red and is either wearing a dress or even typical urban clothing based on the rumors. no one ever sees her face but someones say it's beatiful yes it is a contradiction but there must be something who knows sometimes I wonder if it is mythical thing but it sounds very archetypical for someone to see a girl in red in the woods. I have sometimes heard that she is seen as a little girl, which I suppose reminds me a bit of Little Red Riding Hood. She always goes to the side of the road and no one ever sees her on the road and she disappears very quickly if you ignore her, which is very strange since she wears a bright red. it seems that no one ever followed her but some say they tried to follow her and she always disappears from the sight.

>>12520 >The (Maybe) cursed skeleton In one of the local schools (it is secular) in my town there is a real skeleton used as an exhibit for the students. the thing is, that skeleton, was the old preceptor who loved the school so much that as his last wish he asked to donate his body to science and asked to leave his skeleton in the school. I saw him once and it gives a strange feeling to see him hanging there. The students joke with him sometimes and there was never any paranormal report but having a real skeleton became a bit macabre year after year. and with the years they distanced him from the classrooms and now he is in a warehouse alongside trophies and other school things. there are some rumors that the skeleton causes strange sensations when seen and being close to it, but it seems that it does not affect those who do not know the story of the skeleton so it's not very paranormal. A couple of times they have taken pictures of him and even dressed him, which made his presence more pleasant. is this a common thing around old schools or is fucked up?
>>12520 >The Black and White Cat Killers In my city these years new cults or religions entered to not say sects in addition. among them are some of the African diaspora related to the Yoruba religions, some groups in a specific month (August and I don't know which one the other) perform a ritual in which they kill a black cat in one month and then a white cat on other month. These cats are for a love ritual of a deity or something like that. This made the people here to take more care of black and white domestic cats in those specific months in my city. They have already had disputes with the local police over complaints with people here, although they are not organized groups and they are fragmented and depend on what their group leader says along with their ethics and morality and their own freedom and moral ethics, so not all do this. According to what I read on internet, these deities also do not force them to kill cats and it is only a ritual that is not compulsory, from other that I know they sometimes raise and consecrate their own cats only for that ritual, to not hurt the cats of others.
>>13060 I keep hearing two knocks on the ceiling from the floor above. It sounds like a cat jumping down from a table. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF9qNQpuRyA Not very loud in vid here, but that to-do sound from the front and back feet landing. Whenever my sister's cat is here, I just blame it on the cat. But I also hear it when the cat isn't here... I think shadow cats are behind it, the cat equivalent of shadow people. >>13069 We had a real skeleton at my middle school. I think this was normal in the past. The school was built in the 1960s and all equipment was the same since that time. The skeleton had a name, supposedly the person's real name. The teacher in the biology room where the skeleton was located, would talk like the person was present in the manner of >if we look at Jack here, we can see that... People used to be able to sell their skeleton for becoming an educational skeleton and they'd get paid while alive. From what I've heard they don't really do this anymore, but I read a story about how someone's mother had donated her body to cancer research (this was in the US) and the researchers sold the body to the army for $5000, treating it just as a donated asset. The army used it to test a missile on...
>>13070 >These cats are for a love ritual of a deity or something like that. Although cats aren't mentioned, it may be the goddess Oshun of love, fertility and fortune. She's also been brought to Brazil where she's being sometimes treated as the Lady Mary, in the same kind of mixing as Santa Muerte being treated as Mary. Origin is the Osun river in Nigeria.

>>12520 >The white lady from here I know the white lady spirit can appear on other places but this just one case. they say she appears in lakes on determined situations and a couple of fishermen told me they saw her but i admit they are old drunks and i don't believe much of it. she just walk around and never approach anyone (that's what they say) some histories say she likes and protect children from the dangers of water maybe related to lake spirit idea but in a good way?

>>12520 >the ghost with horses at the port the port of my city is a somewhat abandoned area but it is said that under specific conditions (fog, myst, etc) one can meet a man who rides in a horse cart and usually asks for locations. he is dressed in clothes from another era, a common occurrence is the sound of chains dragging and his horses before it appears to you. his presence is friendly. my grandfather said he saw him and talked to him but the truth is, my grandfather was a drunkard. the ghost disappears from your sight very quickly, or at least that's what my grandfather used to say. and no, there is no story about why there is a ghost man at the port. i don't know anyone who knows the story about this guy, the ghost is just here and it's only that it is a rumor that he is seen there. what i am sure of is that it is a reminiscence of the past here as a port city.
>>12520 >the moving statues you know the story about the gargoyles and stuff, however i have heard a couple of small times here that popular statues move and it is generally not looked upon in a good light. something like the angel statues of doctor who maybe. i know a story of a guy working as a guard at a house and all of a sudden the power went out, he heard some small footsteps and when the power came back on he found dirty small footsteps going from a small statue of jesus christ to another part of the house and getting back to the statue. there are also rumors of statues of the virgin mary leaving the cemetery and walking and running around the place and later go back from where she stay. the superstitious people here see it more as spirits and demons possessing the statues under catholic beliefs. although I have heard from some spiritualist guys that these statues have too much energy from a lot of people and that is why they end up possessed like.

>>12520 >wicker man/cloth-doll with paper wishes my mother told me that where she was born, on the night of san juan the typical parties just flow as the catholic and popular say but with the inclusion of craft of a big wicker man with rags that is crafted by children and teenagers with the help of adults. they are doing it all day long, at the end they put many papers inside the doll with personal wishes written on each paper and at the end they set it on fire. It's strange but after reading about sigils and magic of chaos magic, I realize that they used to do these practices before. the community wicker doll look like a massive community hypersigil to me. and yes, my mother likes to burn things. they no longer do it here but I know that in some remote villages far from urban life and with more sense of community I'm sure they still do them.
(166.01 KB 800x800 catholic-church-bells-2.jpg)

>>12520 >the (holy?) church bells in my city there is an old church and its bells have the same antiquity. i know the priest allows some people to go up and stand near or inside the bells while these emit their sounds. the curious thing is they told me stories that the vibrations that the bells do are therapeutic almost as if they take away your ills and make you sleep more good. i never tried it but i admit that listening to them from afar is pleasant like is a holy thing, i dont know how these thing feel when you're to close, and i am not catholic to know it. maybe there's a psychological phenomena to turn the body feel good just by the bells sound, i dont know. I heard a rumor there that that one day people took a possessed man to the bells to exorcise him with holy sound or something I don't believe in that story but I see some sense in it seeing how nice the bells sound.

>>12520 >Psy connection exercise a quick way to develop a psychic connection with someone is to let them look in their eyes mutually for more than 8 minutes without distractions. Inevitably they will have psychosomatic and psychonautic effects caused by this, such as their face becoming older, their face becoming deformed, or seeing a shadow behind them, or the person disappearing or allucinations among other things that I will not tell you about so i will not suggest you. of course these are effects of an altered state of consciousness. the first common effects are the feeling of imminent doom and insecurity, other times it is the desire for violence or escape from that place, aggressiveness, panic, paranoid feelings etc. and in other cases if the situation do it, sexual attraction or falling in love as an temporal infatuation (very normal) the effects are non-linear and depend on a variety of things but the effects of altered states of consciousness do occur. >but why psy connection? the thing is that I heard that people after doing this exercise can read the mind of the other person or even feel sensations of what other people are feeling for some time like good feelings, danger or pain in the body. this apparently is mutual around the two people but abysmally exhausting for the mind, the effect goes after a while of executing the exercise and apparently does not occur in all people so it takes two very specific types of certain people with certain characteristics to this happen. I don't know if between people who love each other or have some kind of romantic attraction it is much more likely to happen. Maybe this's the final secret of the illuminati?
