Three basic steps for a budding magician Anonymous 12/27/2023 (Wed) 18:44:43 No. 160
There are three basic steps on the road to adepthood any initiate must eventually master. In this post I will give you the basic gist of each of them as well as material to learn and practice better. We can discuss these things in this thread. But practice is *essential*. No amount of talking about something will get you one minute closer to achieving it. Note that I said "initiate" and not "neophyte" because I'm going to assume you already have some experience activating sigils, doing some sort of candle magick, planetary prayers or petitioning spirits. This is not about that. Let's call the first step "the silent mind". Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haWd-1Ia3d0 Practice often in cultivating that mental state. Just stay in it. Don't expect anything from it and simply learn to enter that state on command. Sit there and familiarize yourself without engagement with what might happen. Try practicing as you go to sleep. Let's call the second one "the feeling body". Get this PDF: https://innerworlddesigns.com/circle/book12/pdf/Robert%20Bruce%20-%20New%20Energy%20Ways.pdf Read it and do all the exercises at least once. It's something that gives you instant feedback and requires almost no mental skill to do. So, get good and familiar with this technique. The third one, let's call it "active intention". There is no video or PDF for this one. Get into the silent mind state, and say "there's a white circle in front of me". Your ears need to actually hear the words. You will notice something will appear in your mind's eye in your otherwise essentially empty mind. Experiment with this procedure and isolate the intention that stirs your imagination until you can trigger it without the words. This is actual "will", as some put it. Intention as pure feeling. Your job is to distill it. This process will probably feel somewhat familiar to the second step. In the process of becoming proficient with the three steps, you will have picked up nuances on what each of one entails. Next, you need to experiment and combine them with the knowledge you've gained as you practiced them. The key to applying this in practice needs to click before it makes sense, but when you get to this point (and not before, since this will be useless information to you), know that the things you feel when you focus your silent mind on something are not your feelings, but your energetic perceptions. Unlike, say, visual perceptions, these are easily a two way street for you at this stage. Get it? Without getting ahead of yourself, read at least the first chapter of this book and relate it to what you learned as you practiced all of this (and not before, since this will be useless information to you): https://awakenedimaginationblog.files.wordpress.com/2019/12/1945_prayer_the_art_of_believing.pdf

>>160 How do I learn psychometry?
(144.27 KB 1252x804 Untitled.jpg)

>>6635 I wanted to post about psychomancy and how to get good at it, and went looking for a thread. I felt like this old one of mine is probably the place. You can basically apply this to psychometry. In fact, I believe psychometry is basically the same as psychomancy, with the benefit of touch improving the connection to the object. How to get good at it Begin by practicing with targets you know nothing about. Controlled Remote Viewing coordinates are perfect for this. You want to start this way in order to get to know the language of your subconscious, as well as being able to discern what is good information and what are interpretations from your psyche that you need to translate. For example, I might see in my imagination a dog sniffing the ground, and in the context of my question that might mean "somebody is looking for something". That kind of knowledge can only be built up with practice. Being completely blind to the target at this stage is very useful. This can take anywhere from a few months to 10 years. It's also a good idea to write down your dreams and try to interpret them. Know yourself in general. Learn to detect when you are bullshitting and lying to yourself. As a side quest, do the few first exercises in Initiation into Hermetics (don't skip any, just stop when you feel like it). The method Close your eyes. Do whatever relaxation technique you want in order to ensure there's more attention placed inside you than outside. You should get in the state where you wouldn't notice someone sneaking up on you and giving you a scare. Self-hypnosis techniques work. Silence your mind. A good indication that you are in the desired state is that you get random impressions (could be visual, auditory...) while your mind is blank. If you hook up to an EEG, you will probably see you are in a predominant alpha brainwave state, and these flashes come as gamma wave spikes. If you imagine vividly in this state while keeping your inner monologue silent, you will manifest. "Reach out" with your attention to the target. With touch, this is easy: just focus on the object you have in your hands. With remote viewing targets, imagine the coordinates and try to hold them in your awareness. Sustain that with your mind blank until you get the impressions. They will need interpreting later, so maybe record them with a microphone. In this state, it's easy to forget what you saw once you open your eyes, similarly to dreams. This is another reason getting into dream journaling is good training. Practice a lot. You need 5 to 10 years of daily practice minimum before you can consider yourself beginner-intermediate. Try to verify your information as much as you can in order to learn to discern what is accurate and what is distorted. If you don't do this, you will 100% become delusional, and your skill will be completely useless. You will become a worthless larper bullshit occultist. So seek accountability if you want to actually get good.
Posting the other two links in the OP just in case they disappear.

Incantations and affirmations (same thing) are only needed or useful so far as they help you remember or grasp the feeling you need to evoke for the particular spell you're doing. Ritual, and in particular attributions when one is working a summoning, serve a similar purpose. Proper works of art, be it sculptures, colors in any combination, or alone, sigils, music, scent..., use a shared and base language of feeling to codify the energy you must make yours and encode in the information field you emanate at that particular time. Gordon Winterfield's Demons of Magick exemplifies this perfectly, and shows that the author knows exactly what he is talking about. In case you have never read this work, it provides a set of evoked feelings (like the feeling of crushed leaves, the smell of a certain fruit, etc.) that held in your awareness simultaneously create the appropriate energetic environment for the spirit to be in your presence. This is superb application of magical principles, and I think that's the only work where I have seen this spelled out so clearly. Every book on spirit summoning includes these, but they are implicit; only the magician who knows what I laid out in this post can utilize these works to their full potential. Sigils, when drawn in a state of even light trance, work on the same principle. If the operation is going to work, the magician is going to involuntarily hold in his awareness the feeling of the wish fulfilled. As he draws the sigil, getting further into a state of flow, it is unconsciously going to adopt aesthetic characteristics that resonate with that wish fulfilled. This is why a properly finished sigil is going to "feel right". The act of creation alone is a spell in itself. The activation of a properly made sigil is going to evoke the right kinds of feelings (very subtly) to bring about the goal of the operation. Success might depend on the complexity of the goal's pattern of energy, so sigils are not always the right choice.

>>14815 I was reading a Hypnosis book (science approach oriented with CBT therapy and other therapies) and they say the same thing as you. >Energy Except the part of "energy" in a magick sense they say more like sensations and suggestions and belief at that especific moment around sensation, magnetism, energy, heat, cold, less blood around one place, less hurt in one place, ghost pain, light, anything you want to belief or put around you or feeling Tibet yogui-tantra buddhist belief in subtle body idea like Nadhis for Tumo breathing with some warm exercizes to attain a lot of warm. The GD believe in kabbalah and body of light. >Trance Is a out old school idea in the book and is discharged in hypnosis phenomena, they say it more like a Hypnotic mindset bacause there's no trance or mindwaves just you believing in your hypnotic mindset if you use hypnosis in this model of the book, in this model subconsious or psychoanalysis-freudian ideas not exist anyway bacause are infalseable like any shit that any freudian or psychoanalysis ass says >Emanate Its more like a suggestion of feeling of right moment like a trigger around a thing or gesture. Sound Like the swedenborg idea of corresponce or asociations. Triggers by hand gestures are like the triggers of NLP or Mudras of Yoga or hand gestures of Kuji-kiri. They can evoke sensations, light confidense and relaxation. It's like when a Marine or Military listen to a bell and just turn around posing like a soldier in automatic-mode like a pavlov dog (the bell activate alert mechanism and sensations) but gestures do that more slowly and less traumatic if you believe in it lol. The sigils in the chaos theory enter in the subconscious by trance and eye fixation and belief and destructions, in this hypnosis model just the belief in the paper make it work >Evoking Is more like a visualization + sensations around body memory and self ideas around it, like a hypnotist saying to you're going to feel the lemon he is licking (he's not licking it) and your body and memory recall that sensation feeling the lemon. Or like recalling sex and start to do sex gestures and your face turn blush or recalling sleepy sensations turning your eyes down and acting like sleepy to a point to snooze and become sleepy. Actors sometimes just fake it at start acting to end feeling the true sensations. Faking it make it working. Crowley say something like this in one book as well. The thing with magick is these guys are using false memories by very vivid visualizations around angels, demons, gods, goddess, god-form sensations, subtle body, astral, any like map-territory like a kaballah, chi body etc. Hypnosis of this book use some things like this with stairs or climbing mountains to attain relaxation or evoke recall specific sensations around specific phase-process. >Exposure therapy There's a lot of rituals that do this, Thelema have some. Some techniques of new tought are very similar, just recall old event and try cut it or change it and later try do it again more vivid and healthy. >Also and these guys of Hypnosis dont believe in these magic or supersticious things. Still fun. What I learned from the hypnosis book (and I haven't finished reading it yet bacause is big) is that I should be more careful about what I think and believe. Not in a schizo paranoic sense that my belief affect real world but you know, in a sense that boringness and negative think can hurt your brain and become slowly you more unhealthy. I too negative sometimes. >Also There's a lot of phenomena of hypnosis that is can be relatable to Chaos Magick or Ceremonial magick in general like Psychodrama and etc. Ideomotor effect and reflex are a very magick thing.
