If there was one thing I wish these gachas did more was make it so characters show up and are involved with goings on for longer before their actual banner. I'd like it if characters were doing their own thing before the story directly focuses on them. I'd also like it more if characters/factions interacted more. Everyone loved the Cunning Hares vs S6 moment, we haven't really had anything that hype since.

A far more complex technique would have to be made to accommodate for more dynamic/cartoony expressions. In genshin they use PNGs for the different eyes, but assuming those would be fully animated in ZZZ you'd have to make 2D shapes in the engine itself, that would then be moved around and rigged. I don't know how that'd work in Unity which is what MHY games use, but this is very achievable in Blender. You'd need VERY good rig artists, visual artists and animators to pull this off neatly, but it's more than feasible. I have some experience in 3D, so I'm sure that with current tech it can be done with a lot of talent and some extra time.
