Really pleasantly surprised by the story's ending here, I didn't think they had the balls to do it. I still don't like Orphie as a character and her lines in the end were not emotional enough to fit in with Magus and Isolde but it didn't ruin the story in the way that a mascot character would at the very least, it was still pretty heavy and well executed. The direction they're going with the proxy is also quite nice though I'd appreciate some more meath and bones in their personality beyond just seeking justice, Sarah and Isolde weren't incorrect at all when addressing the injustice behind the proxy's teacher and how they had to deal with that yet it doesn't really show any dent in their personality. At the very least a bit of misplaced anger or resentment torwards people that mention their teacher would have made them a bit better, regardless I like how they still don't think they are perfect. Also HOLY SHIT that final scene was hype, I was not fucking expecting that prompt to show up on screen

Just finished the story. It was great. However 2 things bothered me: Orphie trauma dumping out of nowhere when we just met her. Isolde's letter at the end. I'm sorry but that's just bad writing. The big villain who has been a villain for years is sending us an apology letter? For real?

Alright, I finally finished everything. The 2.2 story was fucking AMAZING. The beats were all extremely solid, it never felt rushed unlike a lot of the previous chapters, and the fights were incomprehensibly kino. The relationship between Orphie, Magus, and Isolde was engaging all the way through and I was on the edge of my seat during the final acts. Despite having a few nitpicks, I think it's the new best Main Story Chapter by far. Strong 9/10. Seed's Agent Story was fucking SPECTACULAR. I don't know how they did this; but it somehow managed to surpass even the likes of Trigger, Sanby, AND Haru's stories... Seed's desperate, naive pursuit to make Sr. come back by any means necessary, her depiction as a deeply troubled person who struggles to understand emotions, the supportive and extremely lovable OBOL Squad -- I could go on and on about all the amazing things in this story. That moment where Seed suddenly fucking SNAPS at Magus and demands to be left to fight alone made a chill run down my spine. The JP VA absolutely killed it. And of course; I had to fight hard to hold back the tears during the final segment of the story. The music slowly swelling as Flora spills her heart and walks up to the bed of flowers, and that entire scene with Seed Sr. saying his final goodbye as Flora cries in the background... Goddamn, man. As someone who is very weak to final farewells, it was pure bittwersweet despairkino of the highest order. And seriously -- that fucking MUSIC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMmdNf0wAx0 PERFECT 10/10. Honestly, the only bad thing about all this is that I have no idea how 2.3 is going to live up to the insane standard they have set with this patch. Bravo, Zyl... You make take a nap now.

just finished seed side story and seriously this level of importance of development is higher than actual void hunters, seed has pretty much all the elements to be one of the most important characters in the game even being related to Phaethon in THAT way, idk why such an important character for the story was relegated to a sidestory instead of a main story but I definitely liked it, seed will be the electric void hunter in my heart from now on.

Finished the story chapter. Yep, I'm thinking KINO. It wasn't perfect but the culmination was pretty strong and overall pacing was very good. Writing was similar in spirit to Trigger's story which is a good thing.

Not to mention S11 is also absent from the post-agent story event. Though at least that one's justified, seeing how Sanby's there to train as well and she STILL refuses to let S11 see her. Glad they're following up on it. Now I'm just hoping that her cowardice will come back to bite her hard and there won't be any memory loss to save her. They need to resolve things.

Seed being the only other survivor from Helios other than the Proxies is huge. She even states multiple times that she's going to do her best to remember more stuff about her time there as a child; which is an obvious future plot setup for the next step in the Proxies' investigation. If anything, Seed's story directly plays into Phaethon's way more than anyone else's so far just from that one revelation -- which isn't even the purpose of Agent Stories mind you; they are there to elaborate on an Agent's backstory, which hers did EXCEEDINGLY well (or should I say "exseedingly"?)

>>934895 It would've worked if Orphie had the same personality as Magus. When the exposition came, it would've been an eureka moment. Of course they act the same, they're the same person. Unfortunately that's not how things are. And while I like the theme they've got going on, that they're one person split in two, Magus keeping the mind while Orphie keeps the body, ala kingdom hearts heartless and nobodies, the reveal ultimately doesn't influence much of anything. It does inform us as to why Orphie is the way she is, created to be just as good a soldier as Magus and ending up with severe impostor syndrome due to the pressure, but there's no moment where, for instance, Magus snaps at Orphie for stealing her body; at most she complains that she lost it and that's it.
