I wasn't aware that this was by the guy who did Punpun until I went into Mangadex, which I hated since one of you assholes recommended it to me months ago and dropped it once it got too depressing. I don't know how to describe it but it's overtly preachy and the mangaka just has to be left-leaning. You can tell the imprints of leftist rhetoric and Western influence when reading something.

>>157329 Yes, all the time. Children are given worksheets or notes that explicitly say "don't tell your parents about this" or "this doesn't leave the classroom." And no one does a single fucking thing about it, anywhere. What do you expect, anon? It's illegal to question any of this. Thousands of parents are on domestic terrorism lists for speaking against it. There's only one solution at this point and (hey, mods, pay attention to how this sentence ends) no one is going to do it (neither is anyone here advocating for it, so keep your fucking pants on). This particular document was given to five year olds.
>>157330 >Punpun Never like that shit. Everyone shilled it back it the days in cuckchan but it's shit.

Worrisome, especially when a manga I'm currently following shows signs of such despite being a decent read (to me). It always starts with mere imprints. Just look at what became of Rune Factory 5.

>>157355 >How many redditors enlisted to assist the Ukrainians on their efforts? Are they generally North American? A couple hundred so far, and I think so. >why isn't the Ukrainian army/government/whatever being more strict regarding what they can share about their ongoing situation and where? The same reason that (((Zalensky))) refuses to negotiate despite losing the war on day one: the longer this drags out, the more military contracts can be made to launder money, the more foreign aid can be stolen to whites and given to jewish oligarchs in Ukraine, and the more whites in Ukraine and Russia die in fighting for no reason whatsoever. Don't believe me? That's fine. Try to explain why anything is happening WITHOUT viewing it from that angle, then.
>>157356 I am deeply sickened by the media mass-manipulation, turning the public against the general Russian populace who is not to blame for any of this circus. I've seen rags posting guides about how you can "help" by DDOSing Russian websites, all the virtue signaling from corporations. It's demonization of the highest order, and the only time everyone sings in unison is when there's a common mean baddie. Sick. That's all I know, and it makes me disgusted.

If Hollywood hadn't already tried and failed at making a remake of Red Dawn I wouldn't be surprised if they did so now.
>>157356 >Be a country >Full of old military paraphernalia from the cold war till the 80's >We can't buy new weapons/ammo/vehicles because we have the old stuff, so we won't get the budget >War breaks >Hey, let's dump our old stuff on Ukraine. This way we can justify a new budget AND pretend to be heroes >PROFIT! On a related note, Putin was in the Young Global Leader program from the World Economic Forum. He's just playing his part on the theater to justify the planed energy crisis leading to starvation. This war bogus and both sides are puppets. A new rumor claims the “valuable lessons” DICE has learned from this game will be used to shape a new game in the Battlefield franchise, which is already in the early stages of development. <What we know about the next Battlefield game >A new Battlefield game is in active development at the pre-production stage, with EA providing as much resources as needed to bring Battlefield back into the limelight for all the right reasons. >The next Battlefield game will be set in a modern or near-future setting, according to XFire‘s sources within DICE and EA. >The title was originally due to follow on from Battlefield 2042, with 2042 acting as a new foundation for future titles. >A former DICE developer said the upcoming title was first intended to be a “hero shooter” where specialists became mercenaries, but it is believed these plans have now changed since “valuable lessons” have been learned from 2042. <An insider source thought that “we’ll be reverting a lot of the changes we made in Battlefield 2042”. >Meanwhile, DICE also continues to work on DLC for Battlefield 2042. This includes four specialists, four battle passes, new modes, weapons, vehicles, and maps. >One such map called Exposure is due to be released this summer. Ripple Effect will be adding more content to the Battlefield Portal too. More news is expected on this content very soon, especially as Season 1 is due to be released in the summer. >In other news, Season 2 Reloaded is live in Call of Duty Warzone and Vanguard. Warzone players get Rebirth Island Reforced and several new game modes, while Vanguard gets a host of new features, including a game mode, map, vehicles, Operator, weapon, and Zombies additions. <Elsewhere, Rocksteady has confirmed Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice Squad has been delayed until 2023. https://archive.ph/bYkeo Activision Blizzard is facing a new sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuit >Activision Blizzard has been hit with a new lawsuit containing fresh allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination. >Attorney Lisa Bloom filed the suit in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday on behalf of a current employee referred to as ‘Jane Doe’, Bloomberg Law reports. >For years, Activision Blizzard’s open ‘frat boy’ environment fostered rampant sexism, harassment and discrimination with 700 reported incidents occurring under CEO Robert Kotick’s watch,” the lawsuit reads. >Doe, who joined the company in 2017 as a senior administrative assistant in the IT department, claims she was regularly pressured to drink alcohol and participate in lewd games. >She also says female employees were regularly subjected to sexual comments and groping by male colleagues during alcohol-fuelled ‘cube crawls’ around the office. >Doe alleges that complaints about excessive drinking and sexual advances made by her supervisors were explained away as “leadership being nice and trying to be friends with her”. >She also claims to have been told not to air her concerns due to the reputational damage it could have on the company. >Having failed in multiple attempts to escape to a new job in a different department, Doe says she was eventually offered another role with a lower status and a significant salary decrease, after complaining directly to ex-Blizzard president J. Allen Brack. >The studio’s former leader left the company last August, weeks after Activision Blizzard was hit with a lawsuit by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which accused the company of failing to handle sexual harassment and discrimination against female employees. >She also says her November 2021 application for an executive assistant position was rejected after she spoke out about her experiences at the company during a press conference the following month. https://archive.ph/293NL

The Halo show is nothing like the games, and that’s why it’s good <Halo’s showrunners earned criticism for saying they didn’t consider the games — they were right not to >After seeing the first episode of Halo, I’m totally on board. I’m a Halo lore hobbyist, meaning that while I’ve enthusiastically experienced the campaigns of Halo’s Combat Evolved through Guardians, go on regular Halopedia wiki dives, and own a well-loved copy of Eric Nylund’s The Fall Of Reach, I haven’t consumed everything the Halo universe has to offer. >(Ghosts of Onyx, I swear I’ll get to you one day.) But based on the Halo stories I do know, I think Paramount Plus’ series offers a far more compelling look at the Master Chief than anything the games have done so far. <Spoilers for the first episode of Halo below: >It’s hard translating video games to film and TV. It’s only recently been done right with Arcane, Castlevania, and the Sonic movie. And the common thread for all these successful titles seems to be “chuck out every established story the audience knows and tell a new one.” >Halo’s showrunner Steven Kane said in an interview with Variety that “We didn’t look at the game. We didn’t talk about the game. We talked about the characters and the world. So I never felt limited by it being a game.” >His comments drew criticisms from Halo fans on social media worried that this show was going to look nothing like the games. It doesn’t, and that’s what makes it really good. >I love that the central premise of the first episode has barely anything to do with the fight against the Covenant. It would have been very easy to make a show about the Master Chief with his Blue Team pals running up on the Gravemind or 343 Guilty Spark. >Instead, the entire first episode is all about the friction between the Chief and his UNSC masters — a topic that wasn’t even broached until Halo 5: Guardians and, even then, only in the context of “I must save my AI girlfriend / mom, and you won’t let me.” >The showrunners were absolutely correct in their choice to “not look at the games.” The result is a story that asks us to grapple with the very reason Spartans were created: as weapons for the suppression, repression, and subjugation of humanity — a premise the games have almost never asked us to interrogate. >Spartans have always been these superhuman human-killing machines devoid of emotion, but we have never had the chance to see how the Spartans themselves feel about that. That’s the promise of this show, and I’m super invested in the conclusions it’ll draw. >That’s not to say I loved everything about the show’s first episode. I am befuddled by the introduction of a high-ranking human in the Covenant faction, and, as my colleague Charles Pulliam-Moore alluded to in his Halo review, it’s a bit too gruesome. >Halo as a game was never like Gears of War. You shot the Covenant, and they fell down — they never exploded in a cloud of purple mist. >Maybe that choice was made out of consideration for the game’s ratings or some other unknown, but I always felt that choice made it such that when gruesome things do happen (like That Scene in Halo 4), they hit harder. >The bloody violence of the Halo show seems to lack that same gravitas and comes across as a cheap-feeling Game of Thrones-like gratuitousness. >I’ll also say this: Master Chief is already the chosen one. In the games, Cortana literally chooses him based on nothing more than her perception of his “luckiness.” So I find his additional “I am a very special boy” modifier in the form of his preternatural connection to the show’s mysterious artifact a little annoying. >Ultimately, this is only episode one. There’s still time for the show to devolve into an “oorah let’s kill us some aliens” fest. But if it continues along the path this first episode has charted, I think the show will be a refreshing entry in the Halo canon. https://archive.ph/Xjw8u Ex-'Fable' Developer Explains Why The New Game Is Taking So Long >You know what I'm getting a little tired of? Games being announced way too early. It seems to happen so often these days that we'll get a teaser for something far sooner than we really needed to, and the result is sitting on a CGI trailer, or worse, a simple logo reveal for years on end. I'm looking at you, Metroid Prime 4. >Remember the Fable reboot that's happening? I'd certainly hope so, it's a pretty big deal. Announced back in 2020, it's being developed by Playground Games, y'know, the team behind the Forza Horizon series. >People were already a bit perplexed by this - to change devs is one thing, but to hand over an open-world RPG to a team best known for their racing games? It's a strange one, to say the least, and it may be part of the reason why it's taking so long. >As reported by TheGamer, ex-developer Juan Fernandez recently explained in an interview with Vandal (and translated by wccftech) that in his time at Playground Games, progress on Fable's development was slow, and that there weren't enough people working on it who really have the knowledge to pull off the gameplay properly. >They're very smart and they know what they're doing. They wanted to branch out with something different[,] and they thought that what they do well is open-world racing games, [but] they lacked people with the knowledge of how gameplay is done," he said. >In an open world, how you control a character and the actions are very different from what you have in a racing game." >So that's...slightly concerning? We've still not seen anything of the game beyond that CGI reveal trailer almost two years ago, which was already pretty telling in terms of the state of its development. >Then again, the same seemed to apply to Hogwarts Legacy, but as I'm sure everyone on the internet will be acutely aware by now, that got a colossal gameplay footage trailer last week. >So, a long wait isn't necessarily indicative of a game's doom, but if the devs "lack knowledge" for the game they're making, that's at best questionable, and potentially disastrous. >On the back of all that, as you'd expect, there's currently no release window for Fable, other than the fact that it's apparently set to come out before The Elder Scrolls VI. >Which doesn't help a great deal, as that's also probably years away, but it's something, I guess. https://archive.ph/W0N38

Xseed is a small studio in Torrance CA while the town felt conservative in the 90s when I grew up i.e boomer whites/skaters with asians it is still driving distance from the cancer city of LA. On Rune Factory itself the western fanbase(at least reddit) struck me as fujo/wahmen infested which makes since given that it is a simulation game and the female players have more variety are marriage candidates then the male players do along with the ongoing slaps in the face with giving the mothers more sexy bodies for whatever reason. If I am right about the fanbase good chunk of them wants the forced gay shit but on the other hand both this game and Xseed themselves are niche so burning the good will of their predecessors isn't wise. However it seems like even they still don't like the game and I don't see the nips taking too kindly to this whole event due to the lack of bug fixes and the loss of the two dlc girls. Maybe if the game bombs in the west they will start to ignore Xseed's faggots.

The U.S. is a food exporter and one of the most agriculturally self-sufficient countries in the world. Of course you should also keep in mind there's a lot of politicians and billionaires who would love to use our fucked up infrastructure as an excuse to B& private ownership of cars so fuck those guys which is why we shouldn't rely on the Federal Government to fix our problems especially since this is just yet another one it created in the first place with it's retarded zoning laws that were forced unto everyone. No it should be fixed on a community by community basis. Here in Pennsylvania though we've got a couple of tourist trains you can go hop on, watch the country side and mountains go by and have a delicious lunch/dinner on but it won't take you anywhere important obviously. Link related https://vacationidea.com/pennsylvania/best-pennsylvania-train-trips.html >>157421 >This is all kinds of gross. If you've got a spare USB drive or SD card laying around you can fuck around with a live CD and not wipe your hard drive. If you don't already have one I'd suggest getting one from Transcend or Samsung because fuck Mainland China. Some operating systems like Puppy Linux or CentOS will let you use the flashdrive as your bootable OS drive in fact meaning your don't have to wipe your main hard drive which is useful and a cheap solution, of course it won't be as fast as a pro gaymer SSD but because those are so light weigh and use very little RAM that doesn't really matter. That or just get a second HHD or SSD and swap them out whenever you need to use one. Just start with a baby's first Linux distro like Pop! OS or Fedora Linux for Intel CPU's and Manjaro for AMD CPU's or any weird Chinesium Wifi card. Also consider buying used to avoid paying the Windows tax or just buy a purpose built Linux computer like a System 76 if your willing to spend more money, plus System 76 doesn't cheap out on cooling fans at least for the towers anyway, I have no idea what their laptops are like. A draft dodger isn't a deserter and would fall under civilian law rather than military law. Some states have removal of some civil rights for draft dodgers, like gun ownership, but if we get to that point then it won't matter because the government will have a full rebellion on their hands. At that point the government might as declare martial law and announce that they are preemptively starting Civil War 2.0.
I smell a potential operation! For those who don't know, over the past week, Jewtube videos relating specifically to Bungie's Destiny series have been receiving DMCA claims that have effected high level Jewtubers in the Destiny community and even Bungie themselves. Yesterday, however, one of the culprits behind the DMCA claims revealed himself: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=2W75qipKEVo Under the alias of "Jeremy", the guy claims that he had his Destiny channel false DMCAed; and, after no luck with the counter-notification system, he started filing false claims against high level Destiny Jewtubers for the purpose of forcing Jewtube and Bungie to get involved about all of the false claims and to solve the issue. Whether they will or won't is still up in the air, but that's beside the point. Where the possible operation comes from is that, according to Jeremy, it's incredibly easy to sign up as a representative for a company for the purposes of filing DMCA claims. You just need to provide some bogus info, state that you work for some copyright strike firms, and state which copyright holder said firm representatives. Once you do that, you have free reign to take down anything and everything related to said copyright content without any retribution. Couldn't this be exploited for the purposes digging Jewtubes grave even further? The only flaw that I see is that any attempt by users to send a counter-notification to the DMCA claims you make is that they will have to end up doxxing themselves to you because they are required to fur the purposes of completing a counter-notification.

People have written about this, and retards (I'm not naming names, mostly because we're all anonymous here) either ignore it and do nothing or instantaneously forget it. >It may be inferred again that the present movement for women's rights will certainly prevail from the history of its only opponent: Northern conservatism. This is a party which never conserves anything. Its history has been that it demurs to each aggression of the progressive party, and aims to save its credit by a respectable amount of growling, but always acquiesces at last in the innovation. What was the resisted novelty of yesterday is today one of the accepted principles of conservatism; it is now conservative only in affecting to resist the next innovation, which will tomorrow be forced upon its timidity and will be succeeded by some third revolution; to be denounced and then adopted in its turn. American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows Radicalism as it moves forward towards perdition. It remains behind it, but never retards it, and always advances near its leader.... Its impotency is not hard, indeed, to explain. It is worthless because it is the conservatism of expediency only, and not of sturdy principle. It intends to risk nothing serious for the sake of the truth, and has no idea of being guilty of the folly of martyrdom. It always when about to enter a protest very blandly informs the wild beast whose path it essays to stop, that its "bark is worse than its bite," and that it only means to save its manners by enacting its decent role of resistance: The only practical purpose which it now serves in American politics is to give enough exercise to Radicalism to keep it "in wind," and to prevent its becoming pursy and lazy, from having nothing to whip. No doubt, after a few years, when women's suffrage shall have become an accomplished fact, conservatism will tacitly admit it into its creed, and thenceforward plume itself upon its wise firmness in opposing with similar weapons the extreme of baby suffrage; and when that too shall have been won, it will be heard declaring that the integrity of the American Constitution requires at least the refusal of suffrage to asses. There it will assume, with great dignity, its final position. ~ Robert Lewis Dabney; 1897

>>157554 That's what was so baffling. Nolan isn't really a good director and the other two movies in the trilogy aren't that good, but The Dark Knight just works extremely well and may as well be standalone. While also supplying anti air missiles to Russia and having to keep a navy presence in the Indo Pacific Sea? Raging a two front war while also fighting your own population sounds like a horrible idea, not to mention they'd have to pull soldiers out of Iraq, Somali, Japan, and Korea just to name a few places we have bases and even a good chunk of those soldiers would just join the American militias. DC would basically have to build it's own rag tag army of police offers and technically they already have that army but there's no way it would hold out forever even if they're well fortified. I really hope our government isn't this retarded because that would likely end up making the Spanish civil war look like a walk in the park by comparison especially since the rebels would be using AR's and even a cheap Brownells or PSA is going to out perform a beaten up handy down Mosin Nagant or Conquistador's surplus Flintlocks easy. Not only would America+Canada+Mexico suffer but the few countries we occupy like South Korea, Albania, and Djibouti that actually want our presence would suffer too from having to pull out of those countries. Everything about that just sounds like a terrible idea and not worth it for more reasons than I could name. It's better to just send people over seas who actually want to fight in a war and know what the hell they're doing. Plus conscript armies typically suck and that goes for most nations including Russia for that matter, but that's why they have Spetsnaz to handle the important shit while the retard brigades handle everything else. Another great example would be Israels IDF of which the top brass there don't even trust their conscripts to carry loaded rifles so they're forced to walk around without magazines inserted in their mag wells and I'm sure that's because some retard either hurt himself or someone else by accident. >>157502 Well I have always wanted to shoot a genuine AK but not like that against my will. >>157503 You have to get normal, critical people into that state of reality denying first, but as it turns out that's not hard at all if you know how to manipulate how they view common sense. Mainstream covid 'studies' have shown that perfectly, and you can do it with every other issue you want to. Want to ban or heavily regulate heterosexual sex under the guise of science? Just spam academia with grants for studying the effects of rape among heterosexual couples, harassment and other issues. Bias your samples so you only focus on negative examples of heterosexuality, ignore the positive, go into detail about the source and the the consequences of negative heterosexual encounters. Allow the media to pick up on this and sensationalize the idea that heterosexuality has problems, while at the same time comparing it to unbiased studies about homosexual encounters, which have also been paid for by vested interests through seemingly reputable institutions and 'caring NGOs/charity organizations' This will slowly create a cultural momentum that hyper focuses on the negative aspects of heterosexuality, and as such, begin to view it a problematic and in need of improvement, allowing governments, or anyone with authority to offer solutions to solve this problem. They've done it many times before, and they've already been successful in it with at least one issue. They've also failed once, with violent video games in particular, because the explosion in popularity of the genre outpaced, if barely, the manipulative propaganda that was being spread to create a universal fear of a certain kind of games.

>>157535 Consuming media is not easily gatekept. Working in an industry is. Lefties easily gain HR positions due to their "muh feels before reals!" dispositions, and from there, can easily gatekeep the hiring process until wherever they work is majority left wing. Once that point is reached, it becomes unspoken practice to shun anyone who says anything right wing, or who doesn't openly say left wing shit enough, and it's considered unethical for the organization and its members to not go out of it's way to support left wing causes pushed by the media. Any organization that is not explicitly right wing will eventually become leftist by these means. The only time this doesn't entirely hold true is blue collar work, which is more focused on utilitarian results than subjective qualities of work. As such, lazy commies who want UBI and such are weeded out by the bosses firing them to keep the company from going under against their competition.

>>157674 >countless Nigger you bad at math. You would waste the same amount of time reading 20 50 chapter manga as you would reading One Piece right now. If you "value your time" stop consuming media of any kind.
>>157674 Nobody seems to understand this, for me this is why mediocre games are no different from bad games, you only have so much time so why spend it on something subpar.
>>157681 If One Piece was mediocre I'd have to agree. As it stands though I have people in this thread complaining "Dark Souls too long I value my time" as they play Candy Crush on their phone instead.
>>157679 I've seen a couple of guys get into reading it every now and then. So that's not true. Unless you argue otherwise.
>>157679 >There are no new fans. You sure it's not just people waiting for the series to end before they start reading it? That's what I've been doing.

>>157679 I got into it 6 years ago. I understand people are intimidated by the size. Sometimes it can a bit rough taking in a series that long. Especially if it's their first time. However, I can assure you that One Piece takes you on a pleasant ride. It starts off gentle, plays with you and eases you into it's world. Once you're invested, relaxed and enjoying the experience, it picks up the pace. The story thrusts forward into all kinds of interesting places you didn't know existed. It is an endurance ride, it can get a bit rough at points. As long as you pace yourself and relax around One Piece's massive atmosphere, it is a great read. It really fills you with the depths of the character's emotions. It stretches your imagination and what you can expect with it's wide range of locations. Still waiting for the climax though, so it's a bit of a tease.

>>157638 >>157652 That's what I was thinking. Luffy has now fully embodied rubbery cartoon physics. His body warps however, whenever, like a rubbery cartoon which he was already doing in the past, but now it's even more immediate and fluid plus he can alter his surroundings as if they were rubber like how Doflamingo's awakened ability could turn things around him into string. Presumably he can affect enemies and their weapons to do the nonsense that cartoons do like tie the barrel of a gun into a bow. I hope he ties Kaido's club into a bow to really embrace this stupidity of this power. Reminds me of Arale in Dragon Ball. What's Arale's power level or abilities? Doesn't matter. A "gag anime" character can do whatever the fuck they want. I do however expect the usual time limit or other such limitations that are frequently used to slow down character buffs unless Oda really does intend this to be the final upgrade with the only limit being a mastery of it. I feel like a time limit is practically guaranteed though. >>157659 Fun things are fun.

>>157707 Yes, in fact, it just finished two weeks ago. Can't say it's the best, but the art is great, and the story is solid.
>>157638 I don't like it. A big part of Luffy's character revealed after Marine-ford was that he started out extremely weak. If the fruit was some stupid OP mystical variant, that takes a lot of the fun out of this point onwards. Where is Luffy's imagination in coming up with new attacks/techniques? Gear 1-4 and many of the attacks in were products of his own hard work. This is just handed to him after an assbeating after (presumably) getting enough Haki to shake it awake. >>157703 After thinking about it, this is the result of a fruit awakening. We've only seen two people ever get an awakening. Doffy, and arguably Blackbeard. Nobody else. You can tell it's a genuine fruit awakening because he turned the ground into rubber. >>157679 I got into it last year. It took me a couple of lazy months to get caught up, usually binging 5~ episodes a day, sometimes more depending on individual episode length. The anime is heavily bloated, in reality it should be around 300-400 half-hour episodes. And that's what a fan edit "One Pace" does, which makes it much easier to get into than consuming 1000 fucking episodes. After that, the chapters go by pretty fast honestly. It's shounen, so they're short. Usually.

Where are the young adult games? Is it too much to ask for the real treasure to be the friends we made along the way? (This is real text in a real article written by a real journalist and published by a real outlet.) https://www.destructoid.com/where-are-the-young-adult-games/ https://archive.ph/IaYIl >Aside from games, reading is my other favorite pastime. I’ve gotten through quite a few books this year, with most of them falling into the young adult or children’s literature genres, and this got me thinking — why don’t we have more games like this? For as long as I’ve played games, there seems to be a clear divide between games that are made for kids and games that are made for adults. Kids’ games are often simple, and pretty pristine in terms of subject matter, but developers do a good job of making them equally fun for adults. Good examples of this are Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and the Super Mario franchise. Then we have, well, the majority of the gaming market, which are games made for adults and adults only. They’re usually very violent, have lots of swearing, sexually explicit content, et cetera. >I guess the closest thing I can think of to what I’m describing is Breath of the Wild, but that game’s narrative was a bit bare. I’ve been told Pokemon fills this role for a lot of people, but unfortunately I missed that boat growing up so I can’t speak to the franchises’ impact as much. There’s also The Walking Dead Telltale series where the player gets to watch Clementine grow up, but those games are so bleak and sad, they still don’t quite scratch that itch for me. Minecraft is pretty YA-friendly, but it’s a bit too open-ended. I’m asking for something that’s specifically story-driven, because I want a game to take me on a ride sometimes, rather than making my own fun. I know I’m being picky, but it’s my column and I’ll do what I want. >Life is Strange feels like it’s the closest to what I’m describing, but that game leaves a lot to be desired, in my book. The real problem here, though, is that its tone is a bit too dark, too pessimistic to be the next uplifting magical friendship adventure. All I want is for a kid or young adult to be able to load up a game and have it be a magical, formative experience for them akin to what Harry Potter was for my generation (JK Rowling can kick rocks, though). I know Hogwarts Legacy is right around the corner, but like, I’d rather stay away from that franchise from now on, thanks. >I’m certainly not planning on having kids anytime soon, but if I did, I would want them to be able to play games that speak to their maturity as they age, while still remaining age-appropriate. I would want them to experience that same sense of adventure and fun you get from the aforementioned books, just, you know, in game form. Hell, I want that for myself right now. Translation: Let us brainwash your children even earlier than we would have otherwise. We have to capture your minds from childhood to the grave with our propaganda. Also this is truncated; the article is longer at the link.

>>157833 Okay, so Korea in the 19th century was basically the same as Japan back during the period of Sakoku law. No foreigners (especially Christian missionaries), anyone who left couldn't return, and the only diplomacy they conducted was with the Qing Dynasty. Obviously, this was motivated by the defeat of the Chinese in the Opium war, and the growing presence of missionaries in China attempting to supplant Confucianism with Christianity. Now, Korea remained isolated from roughly the 1830's until the 1880's. In the 1870's, the Koreans killed a bunch of French missionaries who tried to set up in Seoul after being repeatedly told Christians weren't welcome, they also massacred a bunch of sailors on an American ship that ran aground called the General Sherman. In response, France and the US launched punitive expeditions against Korea, effectively wiping what little military they had out and paving the way for a newly industrialized Japan to waltz in and make Korea a colony.

Google Issues Emergency Security Warning For 3.2 Billion Chrome Users—Attacks Underway https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2022/03/26/google-confirms-emergency-security-update-for-32-billion-chrome-users-attacks-underway/ https://archive.ph/0FoEN Google has issued an emergency security update for all Chrome users as it confirms that attackers are already exploiting a high severity zero-day vulnerability. The emergency update to version 99.0.4844.84 of Chrome is highly unusual in that it addresses just a single security vulnerability. A fact that only goes to emphasize how serious this one is. In a Chrome stable channel update announcement, published March 25, Google confirms it "is aware that an exploit for CVE-2022-1096 exists in the wild." All Chrome users are therefore advised to ensure their browsers are updated as a matter of urgency. Not much is known, at least publicly, at this stage about CVE-2022-1096 other than it is a "Type Confusion in V8." This refers to the JavaScript engine employed by Chrome. This holding back of detail is not unusual in such cases where a vulnerability is already being exploited by attackers. Google often will not reveal technical details until such a time as the update has been able to protect most of Chrome's 3.2 billion users. Serves them right; they trusted ✡the goog✡.
