no version of indiachan were enthusiastic about automotive. Whys that? because average anon is home dwelling autist? Anyway really feel sad about the situation of automotive in india. We have absolutely nothing. Sure we have few things like new scorpioN but its not m340i which by the way attracts 40+20% tax because boomer thinks protectionism is the way to grow home market. The 2w home market thrived despite having so tiny amount of protectionism. So, boomer retards should think about how less protectionism would effect the 4w market than just being NPCs. I just want to drive a miata man. Mahindra has an engine that feels alive and responsive. The 2.0L petrol mStallion. They just need to develop a chassis. Put some seats in it and sell it for <20 lkhs. Having driven the new scorpioN, i say mahindra is capable of developing good chassis. It would be indias first true enthusiast car Thank you for reading my blog. You patience was appreciated.
>>5352 this is such a low quality thread, could have easily been a reply to the random thread also, this is not your designated blogging street. why are indian retards so antithetical to anonymous/imageboard culture?
>>5353 so you have problem with me killing such thread if i could reach you id pull your gut out for being a massive faggot
>>5354 >killing early spam with more low quality garbage sounds real good, retard
>>5355 You sound underage and calling 'this' an 'early' you prolly are
>>5352 >no version of indiachan were enthusiastic about automotive. Whys that? because average anon is home dwelling autist? Because the average income vs. the fucking taxrate of India/BD for automobiles makes them inaccessible for 99.9% of the pop. Cars are too expensive of a hobby. Besides, public infra is good enough to make cars redundant in almost all places.
>>5352 People aren't really that enthusiastic about vehicles More than half the driving population doesn't know how to drive properly Indiachan was/is a subset of people America is the best country to be born in if you want to enjoy cars Europe and Japan probably follow up close by India even if you buy a fast car where are you going to drive it we have barely any tracks, we have like 5-6 race tracks in the entire country I think. Highways are boring to drive on, anyone can drive fast in a straight line That's where people find their comfort zone, zig zagging through traffic, calling themselves enthusiasts, bragging about their skills If something that resembles a sports car is ever launched at affordable prices it is going to meet the exact same fate as the KTM bikes, chhapris are going to do chhapri things on it, only this time more innocent people will die You talk about the mStallion, good idea, there are a lot of combinations that would have worked well but nobody attempted them. You don't realise it but a car is a big luxury in our country Though I can't say I have ever met a car owner who doesn't like driving You probably had a car at home since before birth or very shortly after I would like to see an actual sports type car but I really don't want to get crashed into by one, people are retarded and cannot drive and have misplaced notions of what to do with those "enthusiast" vehicles. If something like this is launched I hope they price it so most people would buy a creta instead The closest thing you can get to an enthusiast car at ~20L is probably the Polo GTI, ik it's fwd but what can you do I don't even want displacement or power, just make something low to the ground and rwd/awd The cappuccino has a 600 cc turbo engine, they could do something like that >They just need to develop a chassis. Put some seats in it and sell it for <20 lkhs. I used to think this way in school, but launching a new car is not a small thing to do, you definitely can't use the adverb (adjective?) "just" before it You have to test it extensively, get permits, set up supply chains etc etc you're out 10s maybe 100s of crores by the time you end up with even a prototype that you believe works well, even is it's "just" developing a chassis, and you take like 5 years to do it too, at least Mahindra especially has taken a bunch of Ls with their recent launches, no one bought the marazzo and their other new cars sans the Scorpio and the XUVs No one wants to take that risk, but one day they will, and it will open up a new market Until then Alto me petrol daalo aur chalate raho >>5358 I wish we had really really good public transport. I like driving cars and riding bikes but I don't like to commute. it would be better to use vehicles for weekend joyrides instead of commuting in them sitting in traffic for hours.
>>5352 I am not a fan of automobiles. They are the machines cities choke on. Netherlands model ftw.
(2.13 MB 636x360 porsche_vs_greta.mp4)

>>5358 I have heard its even worse in bdesh. Its 400% its all so fucking grim. But there isnt any hobby that give you any close dopamine, excitement, feels than automotive >>5361 i use public transportation or motorcycle in the city. Automobile is an hobby because it feels good to drive. Im sure if you drive a good car, youll caught up with it. For eg. honda city vtec type 2 of year 2000 >>5360 well in the years 2024 the situation of road infra isnt as dire as it was in 2009. You can open half liter 2w about 60% of your road trip that includes back roads. The chapris have their zens, maruti 800 but people being able to afford second car costing 20lkhs may not be as chapri as ktm dukkers mStallion is mahindra home grown engine so they can save lot of cost unlike tata that buys fiat engine and it also demonstrate their capabilities and the fact that such project will be easiest for them out of other domestic companies. Inch anons may have been a single subset of people but if given option the average jeet would pick the comfort over enthusiasm but i blame it on not having access to good driving vehicles because while buying second car, the though of how does it drive crosses the poor man's mind at least ones. I have seen it. Akshully, ignis drives good too. The enthusiasts car dont have to be all mighty always. Just like the new improved chassis of duke 390 offers better feel than many that comes above or how classic 350 is such a sweet ride with its not overwhelming and sweet tune and chassis which not only agile but also transfers the road feel despite being dogshit slow Yeh you can not put a 'just' before car development. But for mahindra it maybe easier than we might think because already having all the facilities one would want including owns racetrack, all they may need is small team. They could always copy the miata and work around its patent. There have been many instances in automotive history where 'just' have worked. But for mahindra its easier than 'just' of shed car project. Projects like marazzo, xuv300 and some may have been a disaster but scorpioN sold close to 70k units and xuv700 sold about 150k units just last year both of whose average price is 20lkhs. So, the situation is not as dire
>>5361 +1 to this. Being this dependent on oil rather than learning to do city planning is the dumbest thing. East German commies got city planning right. Car faggotry is just added tax by government onto the public. >>5352 >>5358 >>5360 I like motorcycles, 2 wheels, lot of kms per litre, easy to repair, etc. Cars are expensive to maintain, insurance, parking , dependence on petrol etc. Hate dealing with traffic cops trying to get money from me. I hate petrol price fluctuations and dependence. I couldn't care less what car fags want to do. But auto-mobile fags drive their vehicle anywhere and everywhere. Pedestrian roads occupied by bikes and now Maruti's (whatever the new 800 is called). Driving rules in India are whatever everyone is doing. A fucking hive mind of lowest IQ in the crowd. See how many people die of road accidents in India. Simply, driving to and fro for work is added stress on a person. Driving for the sake of fun is niche. Mostly we don't have roads for it. When we do, other drivers make sure we cannot enjoy it. If ever I could buy a dream car, this would be it https://wiesmann.com/pages/homepage But I wouldn't. I will stick to two wheels and pay for delivery of goods to my house.
>>5363 I drove the XUV500 and 700, excellent cars, though 700 is overpriced. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=KV51udbBj-w Check out this channel and keep your eye on the speed FAAAAK. 8ch not letting me upload images related to previous post.
AS LONG AS MAJORITY OF ENDIANS DRIVE LIKE PICREL,I WILL KEEP OPPOSING CAR FAGS.
>>5364 I hope that synthetic fuel catches up. Currently it costs ₹800 per litre but porsche is confident they can make it cheap by 2030 (picrel) after endless thinking about 2w vs 4w, i came to the conclusion that one cant replace the other.
>>5371 Yeah. 2W vs 4W is pointless. My issue with cars is the general disregard drivers have for everyone else. Have been almost run over multiple times, twice when I was nowhere near the road. The other issue is cost of ownership. But in any decently big city (even tier 3) car ownership is more or less compulsory. I agree with other anon though. Big cities need Netherland kind of planning. Towns and tier 3 will still need 2 and 4w's. Synthetic fuel I will look into, looks very interesting. Thanks.

the shitbox ive been ignoring drives really good in fact really good if any of youse want a cheap family car, consider Tata Altroz first. Bonus for iturbo edition No seriously do drive one if you doubt
>>5352 or maybe an avg. inch dweller can't afford a good car ,leave inch dweller even an avg. indian except ulta rich can't afford a good sports car ,we all just drive the same shitty run of the mill cars that cater to indian middle class (tata, mahindra, suzuki, hyundai) in bumper to bumper traffic on a road filled with potholes ,it's just india kills your enthusiasm about anything pretty fast ,the bans on customisation ,zero DIY culture ,zero places to explore and no matter how far you think you are from civilisation in india some mf always jump out from bushes to say "HI buddy ,what are you doin here ?"
>>5515 I know your point and given the boujie direction of your thread, I see it too. But I don't agree with it. This post gets it >>5515 a. Hobby is not about having the best and greatest. I have driven expensive cars and bikes. Best memories on an old Splendor that still brings tears to my eyes. b. Best cars/bikes to own in India are cheaper ones. They give you good mileage, very important for long trips. They are easy to get repaired, (also very important) and they don't make you a target (also very important). Owning expensive vehicles is not fun, unless you have a servant to go get repairs done and don't care about money. More importantly, attention kills the fun. Good road trip involves maybe good company, more importantly, you enjoy your vehicle and you learn how to use it well. You cannot do that on a vehicle that is too expensive and you are worried about getting it dirty or scratched. If you drive to Ladakh in a sports car, firstly it is a bad idea. Secondly, it becomes about owning the car and not really about the drive or the location or the experience. > InCh tard is gareeb And that is fine anon.
>>5518 you wouldnt believe but tata altroz, mahindra scorpioN, hyndai i20, shitzuki swift and baleno drive fine. Personally I dont like the shitzuki, both to drive and to look at the material but they are nice. You can always stage 2 them for more power. In city I use public transport or motorbike because that make sense and the average common man mostly use their 2-3 times intercity and once in a while on long trip because petrol is costly. So, majority of owners arent facing bumper to bumper traffic. The situation of roads arent as grim as they used to be really. I go on trips and I can drive without worrying anything. I live in MH but having seen north indian bike tours on youtube, I say that 'surprised motherfucker' is fairly common occurrence

i forgot rwd thar triumphs over them all currently funny but without 4x4 or 4x2 drivetrain, its lighter by 150kg so it becomes sporty thing even with 120hp diesel although i might just stick with bikes, every car feels compromise in some way wished i lived in west. Would have bought miata or c5 vette
>>5534 It's slightly less worse then pooran's inch >>5529 >>5525 Good takes Love cars not the brand I would rather go out and drive an Alto to some rural backroad than argue Tata vs Volkswagen on reddit or YouTube. (ofc i like productive discussion. it's just no fun when you turn vehicles into brand wars or treat it like consumerist bullshit like smartphones.)
>>5539 >>5541 Travelling in North east with very few garages and next to no parts for anything good, you quickly appreciate an Alto or a Pulsar so much. The easy repair from every mechanic and retro fitting non standard parts is so good when you need it. > Driving in western nation Its cucked. They are soon making it compulsory to have chips in all cars to have automatic speed limits. It is facing criticism in Germany atm but of-course, the current govt wants to shove it down peoples throats.

>>5794 >classic >new Royal Bhangfield fans will do anything to defend their fanboyism
>>5808 Classic is the name of the model, that is still being made.
>>5810 I like the idea of keeping the old model going with tweaks and improvements a lot. Are there any other good cruisers below 2-3 lakhs with decent mileage ? Unlike popular belief mileage matters a lot on long trips when you are not sure where the next petrol pump could be. Unrelated but Germany increased driver licence charges to 3000+ Euros (27000 Rs). Impossible to own a car and save money now. Parking charges for SUVs are impossibly high now

Reckon the Ferrari still has the spirit. Though it was gone with twin turbo v6 296. Tho, still good car but certainly doesn't have charm of F355
I had planned to rent an audi and drive it around in South-Africa, that did not work out and in retrospect was wishful. Kidnappings and extortion of foreigners is way more common in SA than anyone expected. Instead, I ended up in Mauritius on company money, so rented an old Mercedes (sadly digital era, automatic not mannual). This was my first automatic car and it was fun. The car was smooth as butter, under 150 kmph, you don't feel the speed at all and if the car was maintained better, I wouldn't feel it above either. I just cruised on empty roads through fields without any music and got my head cleared. It has been years, since I have driven like that in flow state.I had missed this terribly. It was short but nice, given the country is small, I just did a few laps around the coastline roads and then stopped. Driving in Germany is too expensive and many times not fun due to hidden speed cams that fine you. Back in India, it is impossible to drive in flow state or high speeds, there are scamsters lying on the road everywhere, dying to get hit and extract money.
>>6636 You have some nerve going around touring in SA, I once saw a video where there came this Land Rover in what looked like a rich neighborhood, stopped for a few seconds, put it in reverse and absolutely floored it. Iirc some guys turned up on foot after that. It was unexplainable. Then I went into the comments and people said it was South Africa and the rule there is that if you find a stranger car parked in front of your house, there are robbers in there and you have to get out ASAP Then there was that video of a truck driver being shot at with automatic rifles and while he took evasive action he looked very calm, far from the first time that happened to him and it actually looked like he was expecting it. Driving feels like a chore these days, used to be i was eager to drive a car every opportunity I got. would go for long drives all the time. Highway driving is boring as shit so id go off onto the highway and then look for interesting, smaller roads to turn onto, rinse and repeat till I ended up in the middle of nowhere. Fun.
>>6636 >Back in India, it is impossible to drive in flow state or high speeds I do 60-80 on highways, very comfy speed. From what I understand, flow state is driving subconsciously. Tbh I drive like that all the time. It's very comfortable and calm. I do rev matching and engine braking all the time. Sure I don't leave overtaking and lane changing decisions to the subconscious but it's easy enough
>>6641 Well, not my idea. My boss is desperate for a win. I went along just to see her fave and rub it in that I was right. But it was worst than expected. I suspect that we were followed right from the airport itself and the hotel we had booked was somehow involved. I had made some alternate arrangements, just in case and we ended up using that exactly. The country is not in a good place right now at all. > Highway driving is boring as shit so id go off onto the highway and then look for interesting, smaller roads to turn onto, rinse and repeat till I ended up in the middle of nowhere. Fun Yeah. It has to challenging enough to keep brain engaged at a base level. I used to do the same, but on a motorcycle it is more engaging. > Tbh I drive like that all the time Most of what I did was city driving, which means gear 1, brake, gear 2, back to gear 1 etc. Wait for mess of scooties to sort itself. Drive again etc. Brake hard to prevent aunty on scooter from dying, get abused from her etc. I know eventually you de sensitize from all this and just react, like an animal running in the jungle, but I am not desensitized right now. I feel it all.
>>6647 >city driving This just means driving from one speed breaker to the next one 100m away. i encounter like a dozen of them every day. They are not made because people overspeed, but to appease people coming from adjoining roads who do not have the common sense of stopping and looking before going joining the road. They would rather die than stop for one second. Don't mind their deaths, but problematically, when they do die they leave speed breakers in their wake and sometimes they die under your wheels which is not amusing.

Haven't been here in a while. Might book m8 competition this year. It ticks all the boxes for me
>>6812 NICE. It is an impressive car. Also cool webm. Unfortunately and ironically, ownership cost in Germany is too high to own such cars. You have to get company insurance, which in itself costs as much as a new mid tier car.
>>6652 Yeah. For me its traffic lights. But its different from city to city, with same experience as the end result, i.e. to keep traffic predictable. It isn't even lack of speed. Dealing with the scooty aunties and underage kids, as well as raging drivers is tiring.
>>6831 Yeh state of insurance is dire out side but then again we pay 100% tax on car 1. Grunty engine 2. Good interior 3. A cruiser 4. Something that can still cut corners 5. Mass produced 6. Better fit and finish
>>6963 You also can only rely on official dealership for parts and maintainance. The issue isn't the cost as much as how it is artificially inflated. That said, if you can pay it, German cars are still the smoothest. Even if I think they won't do well on Indian roads.

During a job, my tasks got upgraded to handling 3 projects with 3 different locations in different corners of the city. At the same time, I had a motorbike accident so I had to switch to auto/bus. Company gave me a used Swift gen 1. Shitty interiors, dead electronics etc. I took my tools and removed the back seat, made space for mini cabinets and made it a mobile 2 seater office. I hated the people I worked with and now I would have a few hours to myself. Sitting near the chai dukaan and get some work done between offices. It wasn't a luxurious car, but I could push it shamelessly, burnout the tires, speed up and waste fuel because office was paying for it etc. Installed a music system of my choices, got my old cassettes from home etc. When I was done with the job, the company let me have the car instead of paying me my overtime pay. It was comfy maxxed for me honestly. You don't need too much money to make a vehicle your own if you are ok with used cars, old parts and a little knowledge and some DIY or know some good mechanics, you can get quiet far with treating a vehicle well and installing good tyres. Anyway, expensive cars don't make sense if you live in a city. You cannot speed up much and expensive vehicles attract attention and thieves.
>>7189 This is impressive although ill wait for reviews. Are elctric bikes any good ? I mean do battery burnings still happen ? Are there enough charging stations ?
>>7194 Electric bike are good for commuting. Battery has improved. There are fair bit charging stations in major cities. Tho, battery will lose its capacity over time. And battery replacement cost is a major expense. With coming of Bajaj cng, I don't think i need electric
>>7194 >impressive CNG stations are overwhelmed with taxis rickshaws and even passenger cars wonder how this will work out Or you could run a pipe from your kitchen to your parking kek >lctric bikes any good ? Pretty good I think. You don't need a charging station because you can charge overnight unless going further than 80km or so >battery burnings still happen ? Haven't heard one in a few days, tbh not worried because you can just drop it and run and while I don't trust the likes of Ola one bit, news portals are bad and once a story gets famous they keep highlighting the same kinds of stories again and again (a few days after the shraddha walker case every boyfriend seemed to be chopping his gf into pieces). In reality battery fires were probably not as frequent as they were made out to be. And you see e bikes all the time these days. There are 2 issues with the electric 2 wheeler scene, one is the degradation of batteries (and the cost to replace them - buying a used bike is going to be a gamble), and that i dont like the scooter form factor. Bikes are better with footpegs and bigger wheels, less shocks and destabilization from speedbreakers and bad roads. >charging stations ? You don't need one for your regular commuting but there is an increasing number of them on highways. "Not enough infra" is not really a valid excuse for any technology that seems hot (to investors) and isn't ahead of its time. The infrastructure will build itself if the technology is there and if there is enough money in it.
>>7202 https://newatlas.com/motorcycles/bajaj-freedom-125-cng/ You have a point about the stations being overwhelmed. > News portals are bad True. Very true. >>7201 The range part of electric bikes is scary. I have driven an electric car, it was unsettling to have no vibrations or sound. I have mostly driven analog cars i.e. cars that are less computer than a mechanical machine. I am always paranoid about things breaking down in bad weather, too much heat etc. A vehicle needs to be reliable above anything else. If it is not reliable in extreme cases, it will let you down when you need it the most.

Even with the rains and the mud it's unlikely that you will need a four wheel drive system, you shouldn't risk getting stuck because you need another four wheel drive to save you if that happens. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-AN0NNeWtfMIx6vX0ewxrA fun channel if you like this sort of thing

>>7640 I am oversimplifying. I know.my terminology is wrong technically. From mileage POV crossover would make sense in some scenarios. I prefer a proper 4x4 myself.
>>7641 In non-rural Germany? I don't see the point of anything raised high above the ground In India? Yes a body on frame suv would be good, 4x4 a bonus, crossover a compromise
>>7649 I don't drive in cities at all. Public transport, bicycle or motorcycle. I go away every weekend. Europe is best experienced in smaller towns and village.- Big cities are all the same. >>7954 Maruti's biggest strength was ease of serviceability. I found parts outside of Tawang in Arunachal , in the middle of a storm. This was an 800, that was not mine. Then there was a Swift. Going to rent a car for few days and go into Poland for sometime off. Electrics are being promoted right now, but I want to try an Audi. Lets see if the premium is worth it.
https://odysee.com/car-companies-are-selling-your-personal#a074c92e96a5e64a830cc79c7db3c1e92205c8d9 They do this in India too. Gadkaris GPS tags will allow companies to supercharge this
I have had time to think about this. There are cars I think I would like, then in practice, I don't enjoy driving them. About me - I don't like loud cars or motorcycles. I don't want to wake up my parents when I come home or make a statement. I do like feeling the gear change so ofcourse, mannual gear drive for me. I do like a moderately powerful engine, it is useless in cities but very useful outside especially in sand. I also prefer higher ground clearwnce because Indian roads. I thought I would enjoy EV's, since they are quiet and powerful, but I don't. They are more of toys, like smartphones. Most cars that I miss are simple machines. They do one job and do it well. And don't pretend to do anymore. Repairing or servicing these cars is easy too , as is using them. They also don't cost as much as luxury cars.
>>7997 Literally the best car I can think of is a simple sedan or hatchback that is cheap and reliable enough to run daily, but also have enough power. >They are more of toys, like smartphones. It's weird I spend the day working in front of a screen I come home and spend much of the rest of the day on the screen Last thing I want is another big huge screen shoved in my face. I don't like thier childish user interfaces and buggy code, tracking, backdoors. Small monochrome or 7 seg screens to show the radio station were fine because they were very functional, easy to read and not distracting at all.
Gadkari is shilling his way into 15% ethanol in diesel. Although I need to read more about it, first thing I think worry about is the high pressure injection pump in diesel engines They're built to very tight tolerances and probably won't like ethanol infused diesel. (Diesel also works as a lubricant in those pumps) One of the reasons why diesel in a petrol car is just a matter of draining the tank and cranking the diesel out of the fuel lines, while petrol in a diesel engine is a costly affair
>>8137 Diesel was always a mistake and it was pushed on us by Europeans who wanted to get rid of their excess stock. There are ways to phase it out. But this ethanol plan is retarded in every way. I don't see any sense in it at all.
>>8155 If you say this because of the pollution thing that's just not relevant. Diesels have marginally higher NOx, sulphur and PM emissions but they fixed it in bs6 with their particulate filter and catalytic thing (adblu) also to push the blame of le pollution on random citizens is stupid. Trucks, coal fired power plants, industries, stubble burning and marine engines they account for a large, large percentage of air pollution. Diesel will be truly dead when all trucks run on CNG and the government removes subsidies and stars taxing diesel like they do with petrol. Not that I want it to happen. If a car runs well, keep it running. Pretending to care about the environment to kill off perfectly working cars is criminal. They (government, auto industry) do it for the money, if you haven't seen the pattern yet.
>>8156 Diesel pollutants are particularly notorious and have serious health concerns. Don't believe the filter bullshit, car companies push lot of money in Germany to suppress studies. It is a citizen issue if everyone does it and if it harms everyone. They should just have let diesel cars die natural deaths and stop registering new Diesel or ban their sale/manufacture. > Pollution Fully agree. We just need to take care of stubble burning and stop with the GMO and 3 crops a year nonsense. This is a deeply frustrating thing where govts refuse to put their foot down. The rest is all noise. < CNG I have terrible experience with CNG, so kind of biased against it. Car with CNG can barely climb a small hill, let alone intense driving. Fully agree that impounding good cars does more harm to the environment than letting them run when the harm is marginal. > Back to Gadkari Un necessary intervention does more harm than no intervention. There should be an award for people who do good by doing nothing. Cops who let street justice happen, judges who keep their mouth shut , doctors who don't prescribe medicine for no reason etc. Gadkari doesn't belong to that group. He should have used his brain somewhere else. The GPS project he is pushing is just expensive surveillance.
Anyone who says they hate good interiors and smooth rides, is a liar. Plus Interiors and excellent suspension is worth it if you drive a lot. The issue is, a lot of luxury cars - Use exotic parts i.e. maintenance takes a long time in India and parts take time to come. - They break down since they are not designed for India. India only makes things for middle class and lower class. India hates people with wealth. So owning a luxury car in India quickly becomes a pain. Best is to get a good performing car and spend money on interiors instead.
>>8250 MS finally accepted that the market is moving and moved accordingly. Competitors need to worry a little now. For many years they touted their safety ratings and people also started caring about those. Now they have lost this edge. >>8169 >Use exotic parts i.e. maintenance takes a long time in India and parts take time to come You don't even need to go full luxury car for this to happen. Any European company will suffice in giving you this experience. Euros design such parts that are so complicated to make and so expensive to stock, they are only made in some European factory and stocked only by them. So if some precision part in your Volkswagen TSI engine fails, you have to wait a month+ after your dealer orders the component. >They break down since they are not designed for India Only true for things like low profile tyres and suspension components. Despite how much we like to say "we Indians" and think the country is somehow different from others and very special, that is not the case. It's hot, but cooling systems are designed with a big factor of safety, and we aren't the only hot country in the world that those cars are sold in. It's dusty, but air filters can just be changed more frequently. It floods often but you should not be wading in waist deep water with your hatchback regardless of the make and model of it. As for the suspension components, they also need to be replaced some ~60k km, not talking about the struts, just the bushings and control arms. Use rated oils and coolants and go to competent mechanics. As for "modifications" letting 14 year old chhotu from local accessories shop near your car with his pair of pliers and insulation tape is also a bad idea regardless of brand. Its saddening to see so many retards on youtube glorify le Karol Bagh accessories shops. The only real issue is fuel quality. If you use bad fuel in a normal (non turbo/non direct injection) petrol car, worst case scenario your injectors and fuel pump goes bust. If you drive some turbo petrol or turbo diesel they do not like bad fuel at all, expensive components can and will fail because they were designed for Euro VI super clean fuel but you filled up at a shady HP petrol pump in the middle of nowhere run by some village strongman.
>>8260 German love for complication is legendary. The stories I have ! I agree with a lot of what you said, but some points you miss. > Deviation in values of single parts are not a big deal on their own. > Deviation in values of parts within a system lead to system being unreliable > Indian roads are much hotter than the average atmospheric temperature as is the air near the road. Many a times parts reach values of 60°C + inside the car or under it. > Lot of certified repair centres install used parts and keep the new parts for themselves < European cars suck now. VW especially. You are spot on about fuel. Outside big cities, everything you get is absolutely mixed. The ethanol idea of gadkari will lead to further issues. Many issues with electrics but at least they don't have these issues.

I fully forgot about this site. Good to see thread is alive. Ktm finally laucnhed their big bikes in india. Although, just 1390 and 990 models and many dirts too but they are pricey. Unfortunately they missed out on 690 supermoto. Which is my abslolute fabourite. I dont even like 1390. Furthermore, 990 RC, which isnt just based on super duke chassis but developed from top to bottom as seperate product, did not arrive. Honda launched a v3 engine. Its p-twin at front and 1 at the back . Its 75 degree without any intercooler. Yes and its a high revving engine which will be put into sport bike. Reckon they could also use it in Afrika twin as it used to be V-twin initially. It has forced induction too. Electric compressor is sucking air in. Which may or may not help cool the engine. Tho, it imprives low torque, now you see why i think it may go in Afrika twin KTM has also showcased their 390 Enduro, adv, een SMC at EiCMA. Lineup doesnt just look like its moded 390 but the chassic has enough agility to provide different character. Enfield lauched the classic 650. Cherry Red look with hand lettering on tank is a must. Updated RS3 which is a sedan broke M2 ring record by 5 second. Hopefully, bmw learn their lesson LFA has successor, LFA but a v8 and doesnt sound anywhere as good vette c06 did the ring in 7,10,51 which is very disapointing Jaguar has stopped selling cars anywhere. Readying to go electric fully whcih is disapointing in many way. The new XJ sucessor was spotted testing. The new 992.2 T will be manual only. Thinking most Ts sold are manual which makes me happy
>>8293 I remember being this enthusiastic about automobiles, it is a distant memory, looks like i am very old now
>>8298 I used to buy those auto magazines in the days when these things were more common than a decent internet connection. >>8293 The Enduro 390 makes lot of sense for touring in Indian conditions. Someone I used to work with had a 690 and used it to do cross country tours. The enfield linterceptor looks incredible in chrome finish ! It is really popular here too and the price isn't too bad. But changing to winter types is an added expense and right now the recession is looking hardcore already. > Jaguar The re branding has been a disaster. Not that the company was doing too well, their market reputation has suffered heavily and tata already poached their best engineers.

Cities other than delhi, comparable in area, have a comparable number of vehicles, but no smog issue. Bangalore for example now has more vehicles than Delhi. I have not been able to find out conclusive answer as to why, but one of the answers is just the general geography of the region. The 10/15 year rule is not primarily aimed at reducing pollution, the point is to reduce the number of cars on the road. It's unfair because only poor people who cannot afford to buy new cars will suffer, but it seems to be working. They can't just outright say their motives to our face but this is what it is. Apparently a good portion of the smog comes from brake and road dust (tyre wear). Most publications seem not to be blaming the stubble burning. I am not sure if this is the reality or if they just want to act woke and not blame the farmers, but the odd/even rule seemed to have worked when it was implemented so it could be true. Delhi just like most metro cities is overcrowded as h*ck, Delhi is taking the right steps in trying to reduce the number of cars from the road. Where it does lack, is giving the citizens and alternative. Delhi doesn't have enough buses per statistics, and I personally don't know how effective the metro project is. People will curse and swear at expensive cars, taxes, 10/15 years, odd even, but in the end they will buy cars because there is no option. Maybe they will buy a bike, but it will still be a motor vehicle. If they splurge on public transport and good, safe, maintained cycle paths, with robust campaigns that will encourage people to use these. And simultaneously make it a little more harder to own cars (very phased manner) it will eventually probably work out. It's best to have extensive women-only public transport because women might understandably not want to use a cycles. It's not like I want them to outright ban car ownership but if people just stopped taking cars to daily commutes and take out vehicles for just the weekends, even that is going to be a big help. It needs more effort than a half hearted effort though. It might seem impossible, but it's really not. I'm thinking it's just red tape. They built an automobile-dependent city and now want to reduce the number of cars, maybe if they started to slowly convert it to a cycle centric city it would help. Dutch people are doing really well with their bikes arent they? (I had written out a long essay about Delhi smog, but I don't want to post the entire thing here.)
As things should be.. Ferrari's roma successor looks like a front engine race car over a GT >>8318 idk lad how long you've been living in germany, but road conditions arent as bad as they were in 2005 although, I like the capital GU in branding. If they had kept the cat purring and made it as they as they wanted, people would have let go of wokeness cherry caught mine https://youtu.be/c-X9tx23i68?si=TFi4c1DBiUBGzPHF&t=247
>>8320 Top causes 1. Crop burning at the particular time when Delhi has a low pressure formation. 2. Dust from construction 3. Traffic mainly diesel 2.5 Odd even did not work man. The data was clear. That said, I am for making bicycle lanes, introducing e bikes and taxing big vehicles more. Chintu Bittu don't need to burn petroleum to eat their chole bhature. They are fat enough as it is, more importantly, that oil has better uses for industry and agri in producing fertilizers. I don't like banning cars in general though, but walkable cities with mass transit and bike lanes are much better. I am sure there is a way to transition to this. So I agree with your solution, just not the problem itself. Fuck Kejriwal man. Delhi has a much better bus system before. Now it has only metro. Rage driving is at all time high. Will check videos later. The Enfield looks amazing. > Note of Ferrari's Italians have insane pride in the work they do. It is really worth emulating. I really hope Indians learn from it and work hard and work with pride, to make something their own.
A well-known motorcycle manufacturer is facing bankruptcy. The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM AG announced that it will file for bankruptcy on Friday and initiate a self-administration restructuring process. The parent company Pierer Industrie AG is also undergoing restructuring. Sales in Europe and the USA are significantly below the company's expectations. Production now needs to be adjusted to demand in order to reduce inventory. Hundreds of jobs will be cut by the beginning of 2025.
>>8268 How did I miss this post. Shit. >Deviation in values of parts within a system lead to system being unreliable The systems are largely unrelated, the drivetrain for example functions completely separately from the suspension and the steering systems, and if one of these fails it >> Indian roads are much hotter than the average atmospheric temperature as is the air near the road. Many a times parts reach values of 60°C + inside the car or under it Tarmac gets very hot and engineers know this. As I said these cars are sold in countries as hot as ours or maybe even hotter. They are designed to withstand these temperatures. With a big factor of safety. Also, on-road real world testing does exist, companies test these things extensively. The snake oil salesman of a CEO of Tesla decided to install an large industrial grade display in the middle of the dashboard. Industrial grade not automotive because back then it wasn't such a big trend to have a large, gay TV in the car - no one had made an automotive grade display of the size he wanted yet. Result, the screens started melting. They started dripping liquid from the panel resulting in bubbles. Because industry grade displays aren't rated for temperatures that high. I can't find exactly what standards these displays are supposed to follow (phoneposting) but apparently they are rated for more than 80° C - for the cabin. Surely there must be similar standards for other automotive components as well. If nothing else just think of it this way, America has a desert in Utah so if you want to sell your car in America you have to make sure your product can sustain temperatures that high. This means if you sell the same car in India it should still work well. >service center Yes these people are looking to make a quick buck Make sure to ask around for reputable service centers. Businesses are usually divided into two, some people who want to do honest business (as much as the country permits them) and cheap-minded crooks who are basically con men or goons and have established their businesses as fronts, or another way to loot people. Most are of the second kind but if you find one of the first kind it's worth the while. Also always be present at the workshop preferably every time you send the car for service, but always when replacing expensive/important parts.
>>8333 >Odd even did not work man. The data was clear. Well the report I read did state the contrary. I don't really know tbh >I don't like banning cars in general though, but walkable cities with mass transit and bike lanes are much better. I am sure there is a way to transition to this. Cars should not be used for daily commute, and as cities grow larger this is going to keep becoming a problem. Cities usually start at the banks of rivers, then the expand into the plains, then into the surrounding hills. What was once a small road on the outskirts of the city leading to some small village (that the land mafia took over) is now a major connecting road. But it is still a 2 lane road and is expected to carry 10 times more traffic anyone ever thought there would be on the road. Adding more lanes is not just difficult it also delays the problem as the city expands further and now even a 4 lane road is not enough. Considering anyone with a decent job living in the city easily makes enough money to buy a car (if only on EMI) it's going to happen sooner or later. The problem here, to some extent, might be the number of cars but the biggest problem of them all is that all drivers leave at 8AM to get to office at 9AM and then they leave at 5/6PM to come back home. Total chaos on the 2 lane road. On the contrary there are no 100% fixed timings or destinations for family outings, people depart in a more staggered manner. Now if you eliminate the office workers the 2 lane road magically seems enough. You can make them ride motorbikes or cycles. Cars take up too much s
>>8374 This is a topic that I spent a few years on. Made a useless publication about it too. Nobody cares in India. Nobody gives a fuck. It is not important. Indians make noise about it on social media for 2 weeks, but nobody asks their MLA to do anything about it. In return, governments also don't give a fuck. AAP is guilty of one thing, they buy ton of ads in all media. Even the media houses they call Godi media. In return, media churns fake reports to defend them. Forget air pollution, even with education and transport, jhumla after jhumla. It is all so tiresome The solutions are easier. Tax cars much much higher in NCR, make the licence exams much harder and corruption free. Parallel, provide lots of buses. Doing a dedicated lane is ideal but not possible in Delhi. Bicycle paths are easier to provide too with shade as well. The issue is not how. It is a lack of will power. >>8371 Brain is too fried right now. Meds haven't kicked in. But a simplistic answer would be < quality control on European parts is very low since 2014 < markets like south and central america as well as tropical Islands get European cars < high cost of maintenance due to low quality < European cars start getting rejected What I have heard is India got their B tier vehicles, so not as bad as Brazil, but still not as good as the ones they keep here, leading to dissatisfied customers. German quality is a fucking joke now. Italians are better but not worth the cost that you end up for paying for Italian arrogance (it has its own beauty though, a topic for another time). The Tesla post hits at the heart of this issue though. Modern cars have multiple computers in them, that record and report everything. The consumer is not informed of these , but lot of Youtube videos or articles about this. This data is sold to governments, insurances etc, but again thats a topic for another post and another time. These computers also coordinate the different systems of the car. Not just interiors and music but drive train and engine power curves and suspension. Computers also need cooling. They produce lot of heat by themselves. Add this to tarmac heat etc. Idk about companies like Mahindra. I know Tata made a mess of this in India a while back and they are not competitive anymore because of it.
>>5627 >xpulse sirs, did you buy it ? What was the experience? That is the only bike I want to buy to replace the old one and keep it as a permanent one. That and a second hand ktm 390 and a second hand car similar to 800 before gadhacurry ruined all vehicles.
Motorbikes are manly as fuck and riding a good motorcycle is such a romantic experience.
