The synthesizer helps me get my base stock of materials to work with and ingredient manipulation gets me the rest of the way to making my old magitech designs. Once they're all set up I have Lent and Lilia haul perpetual cold fusion reactors with vitalism diffusing attachments to directly inject various parts of the island with life energy and regrow whatever materials can be scrounged up. Most of the first game sees me working my ass off and only showing up for turning points like the Dragon Hunt, Prynor Holy Tower or the Underworld. By the end of the first game I had cooked up an equivalent local set of recipes others could use and leveraged Empel's Alchemist's Guilt to fill the lands with temporary versions that self terminated after a period of time to avoid incidents. Tao got an upgrade to those dumb goggles he wore in the next game, Lent had some new gear and adventure knick knacks, Klaudia took home a souvenir panacea, Lilia didn't really need much so a backup weapon was given. Stop looking taken aback and come off it, you need someone to stick around and focus on making the island prosperous again while you focus on the other details. Besides you want to fix the underworld so watching my work up close is the fastest route. Inbetween the first and second game I got closer to Ryza while working together on fixing up the island. Given the sheer dismissal and disrespect from the villagers I didn't bother getting close and stuck with the alchemist grindset by finishing up reverse engineering whatever Klint-era items were found earlier while going over the rest of what usable knowledge remained in Prynor. Knowing what was to come I went ahead and set out a bit early for the Capital to establish my own atelier a ways out from the city with various anti-monster measures. This foresight turned out to be well worth it since Fi hated my guts and did his level best to cock-block me until he had to go back, ultimately offering me a lay up. Losing the opportunity to work in the same atelier let me build my own crazy setup that improved as I discovered more about the world's alchemy and lost magical traditions. To a degree that the philuscha king was defeated in a rather anti-climactic manner of a single explosion from over-engineered enchanted weapons. Post second game I was back on Kurken helping Ryza through her depressive empty nest syndrome and although the decline in her alchemist skills happened for another reason. With the island back on it's feet from non-stop forced rejuvenation my spare time was used on final preparations for the third game since I had already humored the spirit of adventure by playing along nicely once I had finally become "playable" during the kingdom delving episode. Turns out you can crank out an army of golems and just win. While I didn't have any souls to bind to the golems I did know how to make shikigami which was a close enough patchjob and worked well for automating various processes later. The multiplicauldron still needed alchemic power to complete the process but the golems can do assembly and autohunting, which improved once Lent let me borrow his skill as a template to add to their design. Despite my friends grumbling about the spirit of adventure they had nothing to say against making the island safer against monster incursions. Of course it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows since Ryza herself was also reluctant to leave our child in her parent's care while we traveled about multiple lands but the alternative was worse. My total lack of Alchemist's Guilt also rubbed Kala the wrong way making earning her trust much harder and her opinion of me barely improved only after helping to take down the Temple of Knowledge. Instead of relying on Fi (who didn't take his failure well) for a life saving last minute aid I just used spammable master spark to defeat the Code of the Universe. When the adventure ended I went home to be a family man for the remainder of my time in that world, making use of my alchemy to amass a fortune so the future of the increasingly large household would be secured. Kaludia didn't feel as deeply for me as she did Ryza but a merchant knows how to compromise to get what they want and this wasn't my first time juggling multiple women and tricky relationships. Meeting her parents was a more fearsome experience by far. As for not bothering to make use of the Temple's technology I was content to wait to implement it later on just as I had when waiting in Gensokyo for the dozen methods of immortality I had hoarded like my name was Sun Wukong. No rush.

Every time I consume any kind of vampire media, there's always a solid couple hours afterwards where I'm convinced that vampires are the single coolest concept in all fiction and I should totally do a vampire Chain. Just watched the Unimatrix episode and its absurd how many things need to happen at the exact time to Voyager make a plan that requires TURNING INTO A BORG DRONE and somehow work. I'm just imagining now the luck perk i'll have to add to my jump.
