Quick question; is there like, an actual storyline for XCOM (Enemy Within)? I've been watching a youtube playthrough of it and so far it's just sorta basebuilding, random missions, and research to build up to more Cool Shit to fight aliens with. Is that the whole thing, just fighting aliens until you win/lose and building up to fight aliens better, or is there an actual plot and narrative running through this that only kicks off in months two/three?

What are the most magically/technologically impressive feats in the Lands Between? I'm going all-in on crafting perks and I've tried binging some lore videos about it. The most impressive stuff all seems to come out of the Eternal Cities, such as the Silver/Mimic Tears, the Fingerslayer Blade, their general fate manipulation/erasure bullshit (Puppetry Magic, Invisibility Sorcery, etc.), their fabrication of artificial life (the Albinaurics, the Dragonkin Soldiers), and their attempts to design artificial Gates of Divinity to create and ascend their Lord of Night. I know Miquella created some impressive stuff like his Haligtree and Golden Needles. The Primeval Sorcerers of Raya Lucaria are doing their wacky shit of trying to ascend as "starseeds" via the Law of Regression. There's Enir-Ilim and the original Gates of Divinity. In Nightreign there's Revenant, of course. Is there anything else I'm missing?

The high end comes in where sufficiently advanced Zerg evolution meets Protoss psychic power, forming a Xel'Naga. Unfortunately, Kerrigan is the current Starcraft universe's example. This is, as the other anon pointed out, basically an offbrand Phoenix Force user "merely" limited to easily flying interstellar distances under her own power (if she doesn't feel like teleporting, which she can), perceiving the lifespan of entire universes at once, spreading life across the universe freely and blowing up a previous Xel'Naga that had taken control of the Void with her abilities. Keep in mind that Xel'Naga was said to have the power to destroy the universe if allowed to get back in at full power, and can apparently ONLY die in the Void.
