Celebrating its fifth anniversary all September

8chan.moe is a hobby project with no affiliation whatsoever to the administration of any other "8chan" site, past or present.

If you're unfamiliar with /r9k/ I suggest you look through some of the threads and get a feel for what the board is about. It should not be conflated with what you might know from cuckchan's /r9k/

Robot 04/19/2025 (Sat) 15:50:10 No. 2564
I want retaliate against soyjak niggers Why are they doing this to 'us'? I hate soyjak memes since it was created too
>>2564 somone was posting all of junji ito's work on /a/ too. it was comfy.
>>2564 Because they could and because it's Hiro's fault for not updating his site or doing fuck all with it since he acquired it. Who would have thought that it was m00t all along who was the glue holding 4chan together.

I wouldn't even bother checking that shithole, they've got a whole datamining setup. I'm retarded so I'm not certain on the specifics but I saw people discussing it on the /v/ meta thread, looked pretty spooky.
>>2585 >tfw on W7 >visited the sharty a few times Uh ohh
>>2585 its probably because half of them communicate exclusively in cp and gore spam to the point that their images need to be manually verified
>>2564 Here's the thing, we're all thirsty for blood here, but the hacker known as 4chan as become pretty impotent and weak. At most we can raid them and call them faggots but that's not going to accomplish anything. I can't see them facing any real backlash from the users of 4chan.

>>2564 we dont even have do anything anon, the site is going to destroy itself. wanna know why? they now have the exact kind of attention that helped 4chan go to shit in the first place, saw an article referring to the site as "the hacker known as soyjak.party" and saying that this was "a war between hacker groups to assert digital authority" (fuckin lol) they are currently on the cusp of a shallow normalfag grave, expect things like soyology to pop up in the near future. and with crap like this >>2585 they are going to gain federal attention much quicker than 4chan did. you WILL do nothing, you WILL win, and you WILL be happy. also im pretty sure the hacker isnt even one of their own, they hate anime over there and he was an anime avatarfag. didnt use their lingo or """memes""" either
>>2777 Trips of truth I've heard speculation that it was kiwi and the user intentionally directed the backlash at sharty. Halfchan hasn't been updated properly since moot but honestly the site just needed to be purged. So many bots, so much spam. Just the same shit over and over and over. If it comes back hopefully it'll be better, and instead of having to wade through 5 miles of shit to find a good thread we'll only have to wade through a mile. Traffic is slow here but it's always been relatively slow. At least there are humans around you can actually talk to. Plus the image/webm posting is way better, not counting load times.
>>2576 the mac minis got ddos'd a lot, but he always had it back up in a matter of hours... rip moot
>>2808 my hope is that the downtime will be long enough for the problems to just move on. >problem jannies and mods unlikely to come back out of fear. >bad attention moved to soychan >shitposters and bait posters moving to greener pastures (its piss easy to bait the soykids) >normalfags need constant attention and are easily scared off, they'll most likely have no interest by the time 4chan comes back. >hiro forced to pay attention to the site really this downtime has the possibility to be the clean slate purge that the site has always needed.
>>2818 well, not always. but well over a decade at this point.
My solace is that the rumors are probably true, the hacker most likely was trans, and these things typically sort themselves out with time.
>>2564 I was indifferent to them until I learned of this >>2585
>>2585 If you use uBlock Origin, enabling the list "Block Outsider Intrusion into LAN" (might be enabled by default) should achieve the same without requiring a separate addon. >>2576 Running software over a decade old on a machine exposed to the internet is waiting for an accident to happen so not very surprised. Of course this is still a risk with up-to-date software but at least then they could simply have patched it and the server could be back up within a day or two. >>2808 Who knows? Even if it was a user of soyjak party it's not like the entire site is responsible, similarity to how 4chan itself wasn't responsible back in the days when raids were allowed. I'd be kinda surprised if it was actually a user of soyjak party because they posted miku and I think the music was from touhou, soyjak party is even more anti-anime/2D than modern-day 4chan.
>>2867 only in like 0.25% of cases
>>2818 Agreed, 4chan needed to die so that it could be born again. The Sharty is just part of that process.
>>2871 All my ports are stealthed, so that's good, right?
>>2871 I think directing blame at sharty could serve a couple purposes. Red herring for anyone looking into it Attention to the site, bringing normies, trolls and bots Lulz After all, why not get two people you don't like fighting each other and then sit back and laugh about it?
>>2876 I assume you used some website to scan your ports remotely. Unfortunately this isn't what websites do, they use javascript to perform a local port scan from within the browser.
I prefer it here. 4troon was so shit.
>>2564 some anons on /b/ were saying how Hiro would likely sue because its losing him money but take it with a pinch of salt
>>2901 the implication here is that hiro was earning money in the first place.
>>2902 ad space and 4chan passes
>>2585 Doxxing is basically the only way they know how to communicate, they're mostly extremely socially stunted teenagers, so they have to protect themselves constantly from each other. >>2808 4chan had horrific moderation and Discord raids were being allowed, if not explicitly encouraged or led, by the lefty moderation. After m00t left, pretty much the last /pol/-derived admin, who still was only there because m00t at the very least understood that the site culture needed some balance to stay the same, was pushed out and it just became wannabe feds and trannies in charge of the thing. I don't think the site, in terms of culture or userbase, is dead, but it would be better to have everyone who cares run to here (and all the annoying doxxing teenagers run to sharty) and try to go back to holding pre-2011 4chan numbers rather than trying to revive 4chan, with its full left moderatorship and site owner who views it as nothing but a passive income stream.
>>2911 i have to disagree for one simple reason: 4chan being "lost" is exactly what they want. im saying this as someone who never touches political threads or goes to 4/pol/, 4chan is an important part of the culture war. as far as the general populace is concerned 4chan is the biggest furthest right site on the internet. if people leave just because the moderation is filled with leftists then it will turn into a leftist shithole, and further it'll show the world that the left has practically won the culture war, with no care for if the people simply moved elsewhere.
>>2899 So should we system restore or what?
>>3098 You don't need to worry that much. A port scan isn't the same as someone gaining access to your system. I would guess they use it for fingerprinting users.
