Robot 04/28/2025 (Mon) 16:12:39 No. 3125
sometimes i become delusional and think itd be possible for me to leave my room and go into the outside world with other people, but so many things prevent it so i made up a mantra to repeat it goes "I have no reason to leave I don't need to leave I don't want to leave" I think it's alright, I don't think many anons are posting on /r8k/ anymore but if anyone is do you leave your room often? how is it if you do or how do you cope with not being able to if you dont?

>>3125 i usually end up repeating something like your mantra whenever i feel the same way. i only leave to do the bare minimum. i'll use the bathroom, clean up, feed myself (thanks mom), go to work, run the occasional errand, but that's about it. I used to go out a lot more but just don't care to now. i live with my parents and usually stay in my room until they leave. i love them and we have a great relationship, but i also love to be alone. what are some of the things that prevent you from going outside?
>>3128 i dont like being around people, having people look at me, talking (especially to others), and the sun i like the outside very much but it is very hard to go out when there are people all around, if i lived somewhere very remote i think id be okay i also like my parents a lot, they are nice and i interact with them every day usually, since i will sacrifice a bit of my comfort for their sake why do you want to stay inside and in your room anon? since you can hold down a job and all and get stuff if i go outside to my backyard it is usually during the morning or late evening when the UV index is very low, but never in midday

>>3143 i dont like being around people either. i stay inside for the same reasons you do. i like venturing out late at night or very early in the morning when there's the least amount of activity. i used to live in southern california and loved to go out driving/exploring late at night. not so much here though. this part of texas is bland.
>>3144 im glad you understand anon, i dont think id ever drive im scared of cars but if i could dress up in something very concealing id like to go exploring somewhere late at night, id need some really thick clothing so i wouldnt get poked by anything though

>>3143 I also don't like being around people; them hearing me and looking at me. But I seem to feel more at ease when I have someone I know accompanying me. I still usually become quiet when someone passes by though. Also when I see people, it seems like they're mostly not looking at me, so it makes me feel better. I would like to go outside only to do activities like cycling, skating, parkour, climbing, running, gardening (possibly); but not in front of other people.
>>3168 i cant really relate, just being near others makes me very uncomfortable, ideally id just be totally alone, i think cycling might be fun if it was one of those city bikes but there are just too many people out and about and a bike would make me stand out more, i think going on a walk at night somewhere with no light could be fun, there is too much light pollution here and too many streetlights so it feels like daytime even when it's night
>>3125 Is this really delusion? You obviously want to leave your room. Are the "things prevent[ing] it" real or just imaginary? Remembers what leaving your room or house was like as a child or whatever the most comfortable point of your life was. It was just an action, right? You opened a door and walked out. If you're that anxious around others, start by occasionally leaving your room at night. If you have a source of income and know how to ride a bike, buy a bike and some reflectors and ride it at night.
>>3179 >buy a bike and some reflectors and ride it at night. I don't know where you or op are from, but doing that here is just asking to be robbed
I thought that I am better than other shut ins in going outside but after I come back home from my errands I always feel really drained and I have to zone out on my computer for hours to recover. It's weird because I don't even think I was anxious but I guess my nervous system and subconscious think otherwise. Mind over matter my ass. I still got stressed even when I don't have negative thoughts.
