I wasn't but that anon was strangely upset about my initial remark, plus calling that barebones site infinitely better really irked me
>dealing with the encumbered mess of menus, distractions, unneeded and unwanted icons, widgets and other bullshit that makes using and navigating Pixiv utter hell. Pixiv is one of the most difficult sites to use, especially on a phone. It's also one of the ugliest, overdesigned and outdated piece of shit sites.
Nigger what the fuck are you on about????
It is literally a search bar with a bunch of preview images of the galleries available for the term you're searching, it is a design literally copied from old Google Images. It can't get any simpler than that.

>people are not going to know where to find all the Shota artists on Pixiv or even what or who to search for
Hmmm how about just typing shota on the search function of Pixiv? Huh, it's that easy!?
No, like, really it's not that hard... 90% of the new shota artists/content I find is on Pixiv by simply searching for that term on the search bar.
It used to be a lot more inconvenient for non japanese speakers since you had to use the equivalent term (ショタ), but a few years back they added automatic term equivalencies with english terms and romanji. So just searching shota will search for pics with both the english shota tag AND the japanese.
Another thing is that the "Related works" shown at the bottom of the page are very useful to keep finding stuff you'll like.
>A significant percentage of Shota artists have left Pixiv.
dafuq? Are you confusing Twitter with Pixiv?
Pixiv is so convenient that even western artists use it even if they have to censor their shit.
Twitter and Mastodon are not really gallery sites, and they suck at finding new content easily since a lot of people don't tag their shit properly there.
The only other proper image gallery site that competes with Pixiv is Xfolio, and barely any shota artists use it.
>Being introduced to artists you didn't even know about or know exists, is absolutely fundamental
Artists that still post in Pixiv, so nothing has changed...
