It is literally a search bar with a bunch of preview images of the galleries available for the term you're searching, it is a design literally copied from old Google Images. It used to be a lot more inconvenient for non japanese speakers since you had to use the equivalent term (ショタ), but a few years back they added automatic term equivalencies with english terms and romanji. So just searching shota will search for pics with both the english shota tag AND the japanese.
