Sup, fellow NEETs.
It's time to sell drugs, breach sites and sell their customer info.
>get an email 30 minutes before interview that the job was cancelled/put on hold man fuck you

Hopefully HR can be fully automated, that way they get to have the wring around
i think i should try data analytics instead
>>20217 Tech jobs are just inherently insecure now, the only way we'll be safe is with a good old 9 to 5 flipping burgers at mcdonalds, it's not like we have any marketable skills

Is networking still worth getting into? I feel like at the end of the day if worst comes to worst I might still just run cable for a telecom company. Currently I'm a bottom feeder helpdesk guy moving tickets, e-mails and taking calls. Ripe old age of 30. Got myself the CCNA books, but struggle to work up any motivation. Is it worth proceeding down this path?
>>20384 dude it's time to give up, AI is coming for our jobs and there's literally nothing we can do, unless you've already made it in a company it's already over
>>20387 I don't see how AI is going to take over decades of tech debt where I work. All the EU data privacy fuckery is also heavily limiting AI progress here.
>>20392 I have a friend who is up the chain dealing with a few companies and apparently there's a slow process of outsourcing tech work as much as possible because they want to rely on AI rather than human workers, apparently they consider the IT worker obsolete in general and plan to gradually lay them off to avoid people noticing the change I don't know man, honestly I don't work tech I just listen to someone who does, but he makes it pretty clear it's hopeless, whether that's different in the EU I don't know, but considering these are multinational companies and they're outsourcing their IT side to places like bangladesh for an AI backed skeleton crew, I don't think there's much hope at all anon
>>20396 I don't think you can outsource running optic cables in rough terrain to India. That's basically a reasonable end goal if I start now on the network engineering journey. What I'm wondering if there is a good 3-5 years left for the middle level networking jobs so I can stack experience until I'm at that level. >I have a friend who is up the chain What kind of company is it though? A network provider / telecom company? If it's some generic tech company I can understand.
>>20384 you will never not use networking once you learn it after learning networking you can learn a little bit of linux and then onto pentesting if you want one of the smarter things my youngerself did was do the ccna course work even if i didnt get a cert certs dont matter, skill does ccna has a software application called packet tracer that lets you setup virtual networks without a lab >>20387 dont listen to this guy
>>20398 He helps manage people who coordinate intercompany stuff using qubernetes or something, he works at microsoft but he was recently sent some weird sub companies I don't remember the name of and I'd never heard of before, I think it was called Durgasoft?
>>20411 Bro come on. I learned Java from the BIG SIR at Durgasoft. I know you are full of bloody bullshit.
I'm looking at a potential job as a "data center technician", and I'm wondering if anybody knows what sort of progression is possible. I have a compsci degree that's doing me no good, so I thought I might do this in the meantime, or maybe just transition into IT entirely. I'll go ahead and apply, but I doubt the recruiter will be able to tell me much.
>seven years help desk experience >pajeets running the company explicitly refuse any advancement or pay raise >go work low voltage construction for two years so I'm not slipping closer to the poverty line >fired with no warning over false accusations that nobody is able to cite the accusations of >said accusations keep me from even getting unemployment, and feds are stalling the appeal What options do I have?
>>20612 You don't have any options unless you're brown anon, Durgasoft is taking over the industry, it's time to flip burgers
>>20612 get a new job, go back to helpdesk hell, threaten to sue your old employer, sell weed or acid to junkies, commit credit card fraud, slip and fall into a 10 million dollar pile of cash, or be reborn as a jeet in the next samsara cycle of reincarnation
You're only allowed a real job if you're black, sorry *sips pumpkin spice latte*
>>20612 Join the army, obviously
I am in fact retarded. I have no clue how to make a resume. I have no work experience. I have projects. I put this into an ""optimizer"" and it got stuck in a loop. I want to get a foothold in the industry. I do not know what that means. I am in fact retarded.
Why doesn't /g/ get together and form its own tech company?
>>20384 The books suck. Neil Anderson + Jeremy IT Lab on YT + Boson exsim/netsim + 2-5 months is what it takes. Say goodbye to your evenings after work everyday. Setup EVE-NG. Setup ROAS on your home network. You should be able to 1.5-2x your salary if you're in tier 0 with that. Stay off of image boards for advice about your career there are a lot of demotivational forces here, always consult with reputable sources, this isn't one of them. Ignore my post.
