Anyone see Sinners? Why are normies losing their minds over schlock?
Nobody is losing their minds. It's just being shilled.
>>399 I'm getting Longlegs type vibes from Sinners. Lots of hype but it's ultimately a boring dumb film that quickly falls out of social awareness. Except Longlegs was only like a $10m picture. Sinners is $90m. Wouldn't be surprised to see Minecraft is back in #1 next week but we'll see...
>>390 It's another racial based movie from the director of Black Panther with the star of black Panther who didn't die. Same blind hype is surrounding it even though it's a boring piece of shit which takes 30 minutes longer than From Dusk Til Dawn to do the same thing but worse. And the gimmick of Jordan playing dual roles is pointless too as he plays them exactly the same way for 90% of the film
>>410 that is a shame. I hoped he would try something different.
>>413 Oddly enough the best part of the movie is just the mundane stuff at the start about setting up a juke joint. It drags too long but at least the dialogue and characters were interesting. The moment it becomes a vampire movie it's the most generic vampire movie with the most cliche shit you've seen a million times. The fact it's set only 1 year after the Bela Lugosi Dracula film came out isn't played with and nobody asks "what the fuck is a vampire?". There's an underlying thing about music being supernatural which is cool but Coogler doesn't seem to want to just have fun with it. Instead it's capeshit-tier post credits scenes where something interesting MAY be done with it in the future.

>>453 That post is only true of the left.
I really wanted to ask about this overtly shilled movie but you guys were dead. I cant just scream "Niggerphiles" at the twitter dipshits losing their mind over this.
>>464 Is there anything else opening this weekend? The only hype I see for this is on Reddit.
>>455 >squint eyes Is that spottemgottem?
>>390 >Anyone see Sinners? Nah i'm not black. It's clearly not for me.
Don't listen to the faggots here the movie was really good
>>511 Does Hailee show her goods?
>>513 There's a sex scene with her character but I do not believe she goes topless
>>418 In my opinion this was not a generic kind of vampire affair especially the literal song and dance, the shared mind, the manipulation and emphasizing the invitation aspect (though I find it annoying that anyone could let them in and not the owner of the location). you can even interpret the vampires being good in a way or at the very least not evil.
>>511 Nice try shill
>>511 If it's shilled by journos, it's shit. It was shilled by journos and is therefore shit. I don't make the rules.

>>632 Do you think it is funny? I show you what is good
I saw it and it was okay. Shot really well, good acting all around, but it hits you over the head with the racial themes, and the vampire stuff was pretty tame. Funny enough my favorite part was all the stuff before the vamps showing up. I almost burst out laughing at the big music scene and also when they tried to relate the irish and asians with the nigs lmao Leftists who worship black people seem to be the only ones saying this is amazing, but it wasn't bad.
Just saw it last night at a standard theatre and it made me immediately want to see it in IMAX. The movie is really well shot and the pre-juke scenes are pretty stand out. It seems more knowledgeable than average about the dynamics of the Delta that it makes the film interesting. Having southern heritage myself (North Carolina), its very clear that while distinct, the film pulls a lot from themes unique to the Bible Belt. The vampire action was just cliché and bad, but the Post-credit scene is one of the better scenes that at least makes vampires a bit more than just some antagonistic force. Its very clear there is a lot of theological messaging as well, but I'd need to see it again to seriously extract value from it. Its a solid 7 if 5 were average. There is a reduction from both the vampire action scenes and the cathartic 'kill whitey' scenes. I'd see it again probably.
>>390 I was wondering the same, I watched yesterday and it's a mid movie at best, I don't get the high praise that's getting.
>>719 6/10 for me. The only thing it really had going for it was the photography. Everything else was just kind of flat. Maybe it's because I'm a dirty Yankee.
>>390 It wasn't a bad film. Vampire stuff felt like it stole a potentially good film from me.
It's okay, cinematography and the songs were pretty decent
>>390 Shane Gillis said this movie is about evil white Irish vampires that wanna steal souls and rock & roll from black people, and i almost can't take it seriously anymore after hearing that. black people are a trip. lol
>>632 >redheaded potato niggers trying to steal souls and shit from ameriniggers Done right this could been funny
>>1020 > black people are a trip Certain films and filmmakers not withstanding, black cinema definitely has this weird simpleness to it. Like being completely devoid of nuance and subtlety. It's all so on the nose.
>>390 Finally watched and have to agree with other anons, the first two thirds about them setting the weed joint was way better than the horror stuff. Could have been just about that and it would be fine, the horror is the weak aspect of the whole movie. Hailee was pretty hot as always Don't know why the scores are so high except for "we wuz nosferatu" because while not bad there is nothing special here.
>>1051 >while not bad there is nothing special here The racism of low expectations.
