since this is technically for DDLC discussion, what did you guys think of DDLC Plus? Personally I couldn’t get into it. DDLC wasn’t exactly subtle with its themes, but the side stories felt very much like Moral Lessons. Ironically I think they were also hampered by Salvato caring too much about the girls. A lot of the girls’ edge was lopped off, even compared to Act 1, and so they felt more stifled.

I’d argue the game itself plays with the question of how much Monika was at fault, and how much of it was preexisting darkness within the game. I forget where but Monika rationalizes herself by saying she just “undid a knot”. Yuri and Natsuki’s relationship in Act 1 shows that they were capable of both reconciling *and* digging deeper into their grudges. it’s arguably a more general theme of how much corruption/evil/self-destruction is internal, and how much of it can be induced
