From top to bottom -
>Hakka, Octavio
Team Shills Everything (branch, merch, songs, etc.); Hakka can definitely get too excessive with it (there are points where people are clearly annoyed about it and have called him a used car salesman in a nice and not nice way), but then again, can't say it's not working for him. He's probably the best about birthdays and anniversaries, while Octavio is best about branch events. Octavio can get the same way with all the covers he works on, but he's not as bad as Hakka can get. Both of them have the hustle for this type of stuff, it's obvious.
>Altare, Goldbullet
I'll be honest, it's been so long I don't remember how he is, but Altare usually shilled stuff pretty well. He got called Shilltare for a reason after all. To me, Auntie is in this same level, as he's pretty good about the same stuff as Altare is, but definitely not consistent with it.
>Bettel, Flayon, Jurard, Ruze
Team ME ME ME. This isn't a bad thing, they have to build a brand for themselves obviously. But they tend to hard focus on themselves or only one other person/maybe their gen. Jurard and Ruze are both their own unique mixed bag on branch events/personal events, so I think here makes more sense. Bettel and Flayon are obvious. Bettel seemingly forgets he's in Stars but will still promote stuff fine. I'd just say he's just too sporadic and there are times where he's clearly very detached from all the happenings. He also tends to not mention personal events and with him being the "most popular", that's eyes being lost. I'd argue Flayon is easily the worst in StarsEN about promoting anything outside himself and Bettel. He's hard focused on himself and his fans only.
>Shinri
Shinri was pretty bad about shilling himself, but got better about it at some point last year. He's clearly more of a fan of promoting the branch, that just seems to be how he is. (Like I would almost say he's a better hype man for branch stuff than Hakka at times.) I remember Koi's being proud of him mentioning his own projects or things, so it was a noticable problem for them as well. He started doing better with his personal merch shilling after his first year, so he's not nearly as bad as-
>Axel
>TL;DR when his chat is now proud of him shilling anything and praises him for it, you know something was fucked up
I love Aniki, but this man has been fucking horrible about promoting himself in particular, and only now, 3 years in, has he finally gotten it kicked into him to actually shill things. It was almost notorious that the Axelotls had to promote things for him because he'd drop a cover/merch and then promptly never mention it again. (Case in point: I saw a lot of people mention that him having his anniversary merch on screen during streams and actually verbally mentioning it helped them remember to buy it. Cause you know...that's how you promote stuff you worked on...) Deep down everyone knows it's that Axel doesn't want to be annoying or come off as greedy. But when he would get a chance to promote anything, he'd say "oh I have nothing" while his chat was screaming at him to mention covers/merch/events/etc., you know there's a fundamental disconnect somewhere. It's even more confusing since this is also the guy who made fancy Twitter posts for hinting at participants in BEN and Mr. Schadenfreude but hasn't put that level of promotion into any of his other covers/etc since. Branch stuff he's fine, but he's been pushing Everglow pretty hard (even in that video he did with Steve), so he understands that he needs to get in gear.
