I'm not sure if this is the place for this (and this is a nitpick), but I was watching the Selen Starcraft 1 playthrough and certain decisions made to the remaster annoy me slightly. It's not a major thing, since I think they re-rendered the cutscenes at a higher resolutions and aspect ratios, and the in-game models almost look identical. So those look the same but just clearer.
But for the text they show you between scenes (pic rel), that is completely new artwork that wasn't in the original game. I think they chose it because it makes it more clear what's going on in the story, and I think they also might have only put it in places where there was only text in the original. But Starcraft was made in the 90s and all the artwork from the original had a certain kind of feel to it. The new artwork is clearly from a different time. It's not bad, but it's not the original, and it's got a different feel to it. Whenever I look at it, my brain just immediately goes, "this art is from the 2010s."
There's also slight changes made to the menu models and character portraits as well. Again, they arguably look better, but I guess I played the original so much as a kid, that Jim and Kerrigan look very different to me. It's been a while since I played the remastered version, but IIRC they let you switch between the orignal in-game art and the new one, but I don't think they had that option for all the menu and user interface art.
I think part of my frustration is that I lost my original Starcraft 1 disks, So now I don't have any official way of getting the original version anymore.
