I think the most valid criticism I've heard is that they're trying to push into an extremely unforgiving genre, and that there may not be enough depth/bullshit to keep players interested and learning new things. As someone who played the Destiny games for thousands of hours, I am also extremely skeptical that they will be able to provide updates at the frequency the community requires to stay alive. Really, if they were constantly pumping in new gear, quests and locations in the Destiny games they would've been remembered as some of the greatest pseudo-MMOs but instead everyone is going to remember how
(((profit-minded))) Bungie has become, to the point where they spite their core audience with their predatory business practices. That sounds like hyperbole and maybe it is, but I still can't think of companies as money grubby as Bungie and Bethesda.
Aside from that you have the more common complaint which is just that the aesthetic is weird, which is true. I kind of like the weird look but they're going to alienate normies with it.
Also I may be wrong but I think I heard some of the people who made Concord also worked on Marathon and vice versa. Bungie laid off a ton of employees so who really knows?
