One of my irl friends described Metroid's story throughout the games and side material to be "all over the fucking place" and now i've got Samus on the mind so I just wanted to know what you would suggest reading/playing/watching to get the required knowledge to use the jump?

Are there any jumps where I can make a physical trait into an indicator of power? For example having freckles mean you can use magic or something like that.
