Took longer than expected.
How should a gauntlet be structured ideally?
Under the presumption that a repaired and redeveloped Inazuma has an area of 2593 square miles, has a population of 537,267 people, and is deposited roughly in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean in the year 1000 AD, should I expect Christian Europe to pull A Northern Crusade on them, or would they just be an absent curiosity for Europe?
I like way too much Asian fantasy mage stories. Things like Warlock of the Magus World, Age of Adepts, Diary of Dead Wizard or Wizard: Start with Biological Transformation. I might do Generic jump based on that stories but it will take lot of time and I need to read Dairy and Wizard till the end of at least till released chapters. >>159927 No info when it would be released. same with 3rd season of anime.
>>159955 In whatever why best fits the challenge and setting. Gauntlets are idiosyncratic by nature, and don't fit as well into standardized formats.
>>159958 Ah, fair. Thought to idly question but that's reasonable.
>>159959 Questions are good. I was just giving you my take on the matter.
>>159957 Did you read Book Eating Magician? I heard it's kinda good. Also what would you even name the genre?
>>159956 No. The naval technology of the era makes it a more arduous undertaking than it'd be worth, especially if the Inazumans don't periodically raid them.
>>159960 I don't have much of a Jumpmaking bug anymore, but a series I quite enjoyed just wrapped up recently and I was idly thinking about it. The setting feels like it doesn't work very well as a normal Jump, but it would work really well as a Gauntlet I think because of all the narrative fuckery and rules involved.
>>159955 Depends on how similar to a normal jump you want things to feel. But aside from it being a kindness to put drawbacks first since the player will need to know how they're getting their points to make choices there's really no set method. Some will give you the other choices in the normal jump order, some will break things up into different phases so you get some drawbacks followed by some options, then another section in the same order as to imply that you can't spend points from section 2's drawbacks (or other parts later you eventually choose from) on section 1's perks (or other parts earlier than the one you're currently choosing from) - and that style seems to be the way that Light of Terra is handled from a broader perspective since it broke the sections into individual jumpdocs. You can also leave everything in a normal jump order if the jumpdoc has a way to switch between taking it in a normal jump mode or specialized gauntlet mode. Just do what you feel works for the way you want it to play out, or don't if that seems too complicated.
>>159963 I always enjoy your work, so I for one would like to see it made.
>>159961 >Book Eating Magician That one was good. I read it alongside Valhalla Saga and Breakers. >>159957 >No info when it would be released. same with 3rd season of anime. That ain't good.
>>159955 To me ideally they should be structured identical to jumps since I hate gauntlets
>>159964 Many different approaches being acceptable is good news. If I made the thing I can't imagine structuring it as a normal Jump, so it would likely end up segmented; broken up section by section. The series was called "Surviving in an Action Manhwa." A random guy was summoned into a manga he loved yet criticized due to his favorite character's death, only to end up summoned into the world by the author and told to make a better ending if he thought he was so great. It's not that simple though, as he was quite literally summoned into the story through its original schedule, with heavy restrictions on how he could interfere with planned out plot sections, and he needed to justify his presence in the story by appealing to the audience all while contending with the author trying to make things interesting while fucking him over constantly. Perspective shifts, time skipping as one chapter ended and another began, etc. Fucked up situation for the guy. The story had a point shop trope where he could basically spend his popularity to obtain abilities or features that would help his character and stuff, so I'd likely try to take cues from that if anything. >>159965 I'm likely going to think on it quite a bit, but given my lack if results with a few other attempts it's probably best not to expect anything.
I woke up and had an absolutely terrible idea this morning. So terrible I have to share it with someone. Steven Universe, but during Rose's Rebellion she revived some human/caveman who helped lead the human parts of the rebellion, and due to Rose's power is now an immortal who goes around fighting gem monsters. And this immortal pink-haired caveman is essentially Big D from Hunter the Parenting. He eventually decides to visit Beach city with him family to visit Rose like he does every century or so, and they get embroiled in the plot of the show Man, I wish I could write. Or know fanfic writers to badger into making this terrible idea real.
>>159961 >Did you read Book Eating Magician? Nope. Looks like I will have a lot of to read to even start working on this jump. >what would you even name the genre So far it is generic asian wizard. Opened google doc file, named it and went back to reading. That are all of my steps so far.

https://8chan.moe/jumpchain/res/157915.html#q159861 Toying with the idea of "solving" a Sono Karada jump 1 going through FGO and wondering why it isn't uploaded to the drive. Skimming through the various mostly disconnected inspirations for the jump shows their attempts hinge on ignoring how things don't work that way. Thankfully Idolmaster, Kancolle, and Blue Archive don't have any effect on the world spanning plot of FGO until after part 2 or so. So far the main hangup is having to go early and solve FGO's plot myself since I can't count on Dantes, Abby, etc. to just suddenly not care at all if done midway through. Jump 1 Sono Karada >Drawbacks A Taste For Cosplay Greyscale World Change Is The Spice of Life Multiversal Mix-Up >Perks Nothing To See Here Citizen Those Aren't My Nerves You're Getting On Hello Yes I Am Real Master Secret Keeper Manifestation Of Desire Hold On Bro, She's Resisting I Died And All I Got Was This Shirt A Slimey Fate This Is More Than Mere Cosplay (Ashiya Douman) I Died allows for effectively becoming whoever you possess by soul absorption and A Slimey Fate covers for anything else left out. Meaning that the snowball effect will leave jumper rather powerful the further in they go. Going with Ashiya Douman as a demiservant choice was due to it being the best possible option for this dubious endeavor. Not only being an alterego composed of numerous divine spirits but his entire existence uses a spell for absorbing and growing past the usual limits of a human soul by becoming a living spell more or less. While the curses and magical abilities are a nice cherry on top the main thing is the shikigami clone trick which not only adds for survivability but allows for making up the numbers from absorbing servants as we go along. It even lets me somewhat sidestep the big issue of magical energy supply until other means can be reached. Nothing To See Here, Real Master, and Secret Keeper are for keeping up the charade in the early stages and keeping things as on the rails as possible. Manifestation of Desire is in part to keep up the act but also get the memories to go along with using all of those abilities I'll be gaining. Hold On Bro is just in case when dealing with the more powerful souls and divine spirits. Regardless I start out in Singularity F as either a master or spirit and completely absorb Ritsuka. Gaining their plot armor level luck and command spells lets me burn through the latter empowering myself to fully absorb the spirit of Douman to ensure there are no hidden dangers later. From here I'm stumped as how to proceed since while it is somewhat of a loss to not go for acquiring living Gilgamesh in Babylonia its ultimately better to keep to the rails of part 1 to eliminate two Beasts. Absorbing a demon pillar can be done in Epic of Remnant so I'm not in a rush there. Cosmos In The Lostbelt allows for more opportunities to gain powerful living bodies of lostbelt kings and similarly powerful beings but getting to that point is the problem. I'm not sure if I'll checkmate myself in Ordeal Stall or not this way, but after a point I'll have to play it by ear. Part of me wonders if I should even bother with Ordeal Stall if I can absorb coma!Olga and skip right to absorbing ORT after regenerating her heart? Given her 100% self is allegedly capable of such. Going that route leaves me out of servants but I can just drain the Throne of Heroes and leave by that point.
>>159969 I'd read it. And I don't even like SU. >>159971 Yep, it got added during the last thread. Fitting, huh?

>>159971 Yes, I remembered an old screencap and knew I had to make a Jumpchain version.
>>159967 If it was a normal Jump it wouldn't be that terribly different in all likelihood. The story revolves around the (in-story) author constantly hassling and railroading the protagonist, being generally pretty involved even if he only explicitly forces things every now and then. The literal narrative forces of the world can quite seriously just fuck your whole life if they don't like you. The protagonist generally needs to avoid table flipping the plot too much to maintain tolerable levels of favorability with the author for that reason.
>>159956 Better image definition. >>159962 Makes sense, thanks anon. Would I be correct in assuming merchants would still make the journey when they realize the Inazumans have silk, spices and unusually high-quality steel among other trade goods, or is it that not practical for them?
>>159978 Yes, probably. Finding a sea route to Asia was one of the main goals of the voyages during the Age of Discovery. The only question really is "when".
>>159973 Wheres the Sono Karada jump? I don't see it anywhere. Is it the drive shitting itself again?
>>159980 So far it has only been posted in the horny thread.
>>159978 >silk and spices. Brother, multiple european countries became powerful naval forces and empires just for spices. Merchants will go through literal Hell for spices.
>>159981 I see, Thanks for answering.

>>159986 Some of it does and other parts of it do not. For the purposes of the jump I'm just fanwanking that with the 3 capstone perks in tandem my jumper more or less is working with an application of the third magic or something bordering it. Douman being a living spell meant for this is part of the attempt to make it work closer to setting logic. Hence why I'm just chugging on ahead with body and soul alteration through templates and such. Don't worry about the missed opportunity, its just something to work towards over the chain. Otherwise included in a later update I guess. Thanks for the jump.

I'm wanting to start a new chain and hit up Fallout pretty early, probably jump for the first Fallout jump and then just go through them in chronological order. Could you guys drop some, non-magic, jump suggestions that don't completely invalidate the Fallout setting. I've got Oblivion (the movie) as one, for the drop in items primarily, and potentially CATastrophe as a second, the stable super soldier serum and the gun that functions like the Fallout pulse gun. Although I'd appreciate any jumps with some really low powered shield technologies or basic manufacturing stuff, so Factorio is a maybe.
>>159861 Ordem Paranormal/Esoterrorists. >and why haven't you posted a build for the jump? Because I have only finished Enigma of Fear. The Ordem and Esoterrorists jumps are on the backburner and work on Ocean Game is stalled until power comes back to my house.

Any place I could get Shapeshifting clothing that would also allow you to store stuff inside it like equipment? >>160132 Okay, so...I was initially planning to highjack Amakusa's plan at the last minute to make it materialize everyones souls without mind-raping them, but some complicating factors arose. Namely, that all relied on no one else knowing I was there, which with Tamamo's ability to conceal herself from mystic detection was pretty easy. But I was kinda just...a block away when Reika and Jack were butchering some mages to feed Jack. Mages are, of course, typically acceptable targets, at least in the context of a Grail War. But...well, magical fox ears give you good enough hearing to guess at the age of some of the people screaming, and while it turned out the child wasn't going to be harmed, it's kinda hard to distinguish between a child screaming because he's having his chest slowly torn open, and a child screaming because he's watching his parents be butchered for parts. So I intervened, and managed to kill Jack by using my mastery of curses to tank her NP and then land a solid Fiery Heaven followed by Void Cleft on her. Reika was injured in the fighting, but didn't die, so I just knocked her out and left her for the authorities to deal with, even if that was pretty much the same as killing her. Couldn't save the kid's dad, but I was quick enough to save his mother. I didn't bother erasing their memories, since hypnosis strong enough to do that to them in the time I had would risk damage that defeats the purpose of saving them in the first place. All of which served to end up with me being shanghai'd by Jeanne into helping her against Amakusa and co a day or two later, because a third (incarnated) caster in a two-team war interfering to kill an Assassin isn't something you can really cover up without a lot more prep. Which meant I had to stop the ritual I'd intended to highjack for my own purposes. Like, I could've betrayed them, but...wouldn't have felt right after Jeanne saved my ass a few times in the subsequent battles. If the PCs accumulate 10 Forgiveness Points, grant them 80 XP and 2 Reputation Points with the Sandpoint Cathedral. Abstalar Zantus announces plans to erect a statue in Nualia’s memory in the square outside of the cathedral, and as time goes on, memories of Nualia slowly turn from fear and anger to shame, regret, and ultimately forgiveness. Nualia’s spirit in the Boneyard hears this—but more to the point, Pharasma does, and when the aasimar is finally judged, she is sent on to Elysium to continue her atonement rather than being consigned to an afterlife of torment in the Abyss. The night after the PCs achieve this victory, they have dreams in which a tearful Nualia thanks them for what they have done—the details of the dreams vary, but Nualia’s thanks remain constant. Her gratitude grants the PCs a permanent +1 circumstance bonus to all saving throws against emotion effects—and may have other repercussions near the end of the adventure (see the Nualia’s Intervention sidebar on page 153)

Say that I make an Unbreakable Vow with some spirits, and enshrine that vow into a contract. Then, someone else destroys the physical medium of the contract. The Unbreakable Vow was made as something along the lines of "do you agree to the terms and conditions of this contract?", for speed and simplicity's sake. >>159955 If made as a gauntlet first, you should have ways to get points before perks, because it's a pain in the ass to have to go toward the end of the document to figure out what you have to work with. Companion options are always going to be somewhat limited in gauntlets, especially in gauntlets where the struggle is the fact you are doing something by yourself. If you include them, make sure to clarify that companions don't keep their powers as well. You should also generally have options in the gauntlet to get a limited perk/item set, as it makes it feel more interactive in general. Depending on the setting, it's better to have tiered rewards for gauntlets as opposed to a singular one, as it provides more replayability factor to the gauntlet. Finally, you should always have an option to convert it to an ordinary jump if it feels reasonable, because some people don't like gauntlets by principle. >>160207 Depends on the definition of "contract" you are working with. >>160231 >You could houserule it if you really want to force going back like that Yeeeah, I guess... the jump even has a time adjustment drawback, it's just... not a very significant one, and I want to go back a long long time. >>160220 Yes, but knights and nobles at least make up such a drastic statistical minority that coupled with overland travel still being limited by non-Mongolian level horseback travel lengths still makes me think Inazuma (whatever it is) would have to go out of it’s way to attract adverse political attention. Alternatively they’re not Anglo bumpkins) Also how do you edit or delete a post? My internet shorted out on the train and now there are two chessman and I wish to delete the one not attached to text. >>160211 Kinda-sorta, the Titans (sentient planet dudes) wanted to awaken Azeroth’s world soul because she was supposed to be the strongest Titan ever. To accomplish this they engineered cosmological constructs like the Emerald Dream or the framework of time (although subsequently there’s contradictory lore about how much they made and how much they simply altered from an existing force), created a giant beast to fight the then-vicious tree menace that shattered into the orc race, fundamentally altered dragons into guardians of those established precepts, and did all kinds of other things. That said to my knowledge the establishment of sentient races was never a priority. Instead, living things having FLESH is technically an aberration in the Titan’s design caused by the corruption of the Old Ones (generic lovecraftian tumour issued by the Void Lords to infest and corrupt Azeroth) and by default they make dudes out of living metal or celestial phenomena. Since they operate on a scale and timeframe greater than most things in the setting plus apart from the token evil one the Titans seem to be well-inclined towards sentient life despite being made of meat, it’s impossible to disprove that at some point isolating the populations didn’t advance it somehow. That said, their ultimate goal on Azeroth ultimately didn’t involve any of the created races. There is some debate going on right now whether the Titans were evil all along or not, mainly in the form of confusing new lore implications that have currently been downplayed in favour of the Void finally fucking making progress to eating Azeroth via the Void Lords’ equivalent of the Silver Surfer catching her Void Lord in a pokeball and using it’s power to sic armies of void creatures on the Sunwell.

>>160226 There's an immortality perk in Code:Breakers that lets you add however many years you want to your backstory, a perk in Ninja Gaiden that lets you set your age to be really young, and I know a few jumps have drawbacks that let you start off as a baby Combine the three and you could start off being born however long in the past you want
>>160239 Fair enough. I suggested Oracle of Ages because the time travel in it is the one I like because it doesn't let you do detailed time fuckery. It is limited to large inaccurate jumps which I like because it prevents me from doing detailed complex timetravel bullshit.
>>160226 We don't usually like to do that here, because starting date can be an element of balance. Like, for example, in any apocalyptic jump, you could start 10 years before the apocalypse and completely ignore it.

Should the 40k leveling system project funnel energy to the emperor? Part of its function is regeneration but considering his....state, it would take a lot.
>>160245 Yes, anything to restore the Emperor is a good thing.
>>160242 I know it's uncommon. I'm not new. But it has bothered me since the early days, like the early madoka jump that puts you in before the plot ever happens. But, I'm happy to play loose with the rules, so long as I'm doing so within certain constraints. I'm not actually trying to avoid anything, I just want to take part in the ancient history of the setting, and then take a return trip to visit the events of the books.
>>160246 Unless you accidentally him into the Dark King, or into the Chaos God of Order and Tyranny, or he just wakes up having learned nothing, being the same violent, myopic, overly ambitious warlord he always was, or he wakes up still missing the better parts of his soul... there's a lot that can go wrong, is the point.
>>160243 I CAN'T STOP WINNING!
>>160153 Using my godlike crafting build to make Ranni progressively cuter and more realistic doll bodies but each one is 1cm shorter than the last.
>>160245 Only if it includes a safety valve to cut it off if he starts turning into the Dark King.
>>160252 >Dark King I know that "Emperor might be turning into something evil" existed as a brainbug in one form or another for literal decades, but that's not a particularly great execution of that idea.
>>160245 Fixing Emps is going to need a lot more than regenerating him, as >>160248 can attest. Also, no, because the Emperor very likely just goes back to being as much of a problem as he was in 30k, just with a bunch of crises to distract him from doing the really stupid shit for a bit. Now, if you could specifically give it to the good part of the Emperor which isn't a asshole, MAYBE, but its best not to replace one magical tyrant (the Chaos Gods) with another if possible.
>>160254 NTA but isn't the Star Child the Emperor's discarded compassion? If you sent the healing energy to him through that and made them fuse back together as part of the process. . .
>>160253 Yeah, it’s literally just a Kirby villain. Kind of…off-brand.
>>160255 As I said, Maybe. The ultimate issue is that even if you fuse the Star Child properly back with Emps, you get the Emps of 30k. Which was a paranoid wreck, which, on paper, cares about humanity and making sure we can reach our potential, but was so openly xenophobic that he was willing to attack other human space empires for the horrific crime of getting along with xenos. Reviving him properly means you have a chance to convince him not to be a raging asshole, but it will only likely work because if you created a level system he very much will think you are some entity similar to the Chaos Gods but siding with him for some reason and he might not want to fight you now. Even then, if you can't be convinced that you are genuinely friendly and helpful, he likely would try to undermine you out of paranoia.
>>160257 The Emperor has pretty much always been a net positive, he has his flaws many of which trace back to him mutilating his own soul to be more coldly decisive but even going full warlord the Imperium would be a better place with him in charge than with him stuck on the torture throne. Sure the brutal oppression would get more efficient but it would also be less common as those who actually follow the imperial cause will have better lives in general. Which is most people. The Tau will get fucked and only some of them deserve it but most of those getting screwed over by a return of the Emperor in full will be genuinely evil abominations since for all his faults the Emperor was vastly better than the High Lords and the bureaucratic nightmare under them. The current situation of 40K is not one that would be made worse by the Emperor, at worst he just won't improve things as much as he could if he was less of an asshole.
>>160068 > Tamamo is closer to a jackal that gets fox features from Amaterasu Tamamo is actually still a fox, jackal is a shitty translation of Yakan.
>>160259 >>160260 I SAW THAT.
>>160258 I do agree that the current situation would be improved by the Emperor returning. This is less because he is some sort of Saint and more because the situation is just that bad at this point and the Imperium has fallen into so much corruption and rot that anyone capable of cleaning house at all can vastly improve the situation, as seen with Roboute Guilliman. But if its between that, and a top-level jumper capable of giving a leveling system to the galaxy who is likely far more capable of actually fixing things up then Emps while also not being a paranoid authoritarian dictator with a bit to much of an obsession with gold, then I am going to suggest the latter over the former.
>>160258 This is ridiculous apologism for a man who created the imperium in the first place, an atrocity built on a mountain of atrocities by any reasonable standard. The solution to the problems the Imperium has is to destroy the Imperium as a political entity and let the fractured remnants of mankind crawl out of the hole that the Imperium put them in, building a better civilization unfettered from his corpse and leaving him to be remembered as the monster who enslaved mankind for most of its history. Obviously, you do this after killing the Deldar and various other shitstains.
>>160263 I'm a secondary, but isn't the Imperium a necessary evil? Like, its horribleness is, at least in part, due to the galaxy being awful and there being legitimately no other option, and without the Imperium humanity gets turbo-fucked in short order.
>>160264 >I'm a secondary, but isn't the Imperium a necessary evil? Yes, it's currently the least bad option available (for humans).
>>160261 Messing up as bad as Typemoon translation team.
>>160266 Now I am curious. What was it?
>>160214 hm, odd. Just saw it on Youtube and it triggered a memory of people discussing it, figured it was on /jc/ but if the jump is that old it is likely before me
>>160257 >so openly xenophobic that he was willing to attack other human space empires for the horrific crime of getting along with xenos To be fair that was so rare as to not really be a thing. Remember that Horus was the first officially found Primarch, and was maybe the one fighting with him the longest fucking Alpha Legion multiple choice backstory bullshit and his response to finding an empire of humans and xenos working together in true harmony was to go “Secular shit! I didn't know this was even possible!” which means that he never came across anything like that before at all.
>>160268 >Paprika is still free on YT after all these years Thats genuinely surprising
>>160269 I'd like to back when interex and shit was confusing new lore rather than established bit of canon you are forced to adress in some way.
>>159956 I'd be shocked if Christian Europe even realized you were there by the time the jump came to a close. An island chain in the middle of the Atlantic in the year 1000 AD? Odds are decent they literally never even come across you, no one is going that far out into the Atlantic in that time period. Unless you go to them I can't imagine they'd even know you exist.
>>160264 Sort not really. The history of the Imperium starts before civilization, because the Emperor is just some random ass caveman who happened to have always been the most powerful guy ever for nebulous reasons, who decided his was the right to determine humanity's future. In the course of this, he was basically the illuminati throughout everything leading up to the Age of Strife, where the interstellar civilization humanity had already built collapsed into pieces due to FTL breaking. At this point, he decided to declare himself king of fuck mountain and brutally oppressed everyone, made everything completely dependent on himself to satisfy his massive ego, and is himself responsible for the technological regression, the inequity of planets, ect. all of which are endemic to the modern Imperium because he instantiated them by deciding the Imperium should exist at all in the way it does.

Why are female Servants like this?
>>160274 What are the female Servants going to do? Not rape their master?
>>160264 In universe? Yes and no. While by the current date the Imperium represents the majority of humanity and is one of the few things keeping humanity in general from having to side with Chaos or something similar, the only reason it got to that point was that any other human entity which might have actually grown to be a formidable force themselves were destroyed by said Imperium. Additionally, there are a lot of signs that the only reason Chaos has gotten so strong that it threatens humanity as a whole was entirely because the foundation of the Imperium was so brutal and the Horus Heresy strengthened them so much that it allowed Chaos to actually push out of the much smaller region they originally controlled and actively start conquering more human planets. As seen with the Voltann, while they are not nearly as expansionist or caring to fight Chaos as the Imperium, almost any other human civilization would have ultimately developed much stronger without any of the overly restrictive shit Emps enforced on humanity. >>160269 Eh, not wrong. The fall of the Interex are kind of complicated, but its pretty telling that the first reaction of the Imperium, after a horrific diplomatic incident where they effectively got accused of siding with Chaos after one of Warmaster Horus retinue had stolen a major artifact wasn't to attempt to diplomatically resolve the situation, but to conquer them and exterminate all of the xenos which were originally seen as 'fine'. It was less that they were fine with the xenos as a whole and more that they were willing to postpone killing them as long as relations were maintained. >>160271 I mean, the Interex mostly were added to show how grimpdark the current setting is by essentially adding an actual reasonable empire and saying "see, humanity could have been this, but it went wrooooong!".

>>160258 We got along pretty well, yeah. It’s nice to deal with someone with whom I know where I stand. I just helped him finish his Enuncia translation project then sat back and watched him work after firewalling off Chaos. … …actually, I wonder if I should create a human subspecies of my own? Recreate my cute monstergirl daughterus using local stock, as I did in Destiny. Now that the corpus thing is confirmed canon dealing with the Chaos Gods is much less complicated than was previously assumed. I’ve already nullified all of the missteps of the Imperium from preventing the departure of the Primarchs to (amazingly enough) being the voice of reason and moderation to the Emperor regarding the divergent human civilisations (the cuendillar seals on the Warp as a whole helped). I’ve already leveraged the completely inexplicable friendship between Sanguinius and the Silent King which is totally not just the Silent King fucking with ignorant naked apes as a gobetween due to being the galaxy’s token semi-benevolent C’tan and granting the Necrontyr a form of immortality that preserves their souls. I have an entire Space Marine chapter that feels kind of sad knowing their Primarch’s purpose will eventually involve leaving the Imperium behind. Oh, and I have two Erdas bumming around in caves doing nothing. I could do it. Reverse engineer the principles of enhancing psychic potential through collective conscious which regardless of the Emperor’s past has been substantiated by very old 40K precedent specifically Inquisitor Draco, then use enhanced psychic power as well as the Enuncia to sculpt life on a scale matched only by the Old Ones. Give humans better collective psychic might and uniform purpose/nature than orks, more adaptable physiology than tyranids, and with all the finished science of the Necrontyr. I don’t have to contest the Emperor over the galaxy. As a eusocial ethnostate I would have them hunt and eventually domesticate the migratory patterns of the Tyranids, adapting to the interstellar void and spreading to not just the far corners of the universe but alternate timelines and the past or future. I probably shouldn’t because even if I don’t set out to be the final boss of 40K, the Emperor would absolutely lose his shit and come after me for making Xeelee Saga-like humans to cultivate into Downstreamers. It’s just a shame it has to remain theoretical for strategic concerns despite the lack of a resource shortage at this point. >>160273 >nebulous reasons Either his birth was the plan of a bunch of fused shamans or he stole power from the Chaos Gods, and either way he was the top psychic dog on Earth by the time he was trying to recruit the other Perpetuals to his cause.
>>160258 It's also worth pointing out that going by canon just leaving him on the golden throne isn't a solution anyway since it's in the process of failing after so many thousands of years without proper maintenance >>160273 I feel this completely ignores just how bad things were on Earth, much less other planets, before the Emperor actually revealed himself and got going. Whether these are Christian already or just the last few pagans, you might be seeing longships before long. What happens from there depends on whether they're trading, raiding, exploring, or settling, but the Viking Age proper ends just sixty-six years out from when you're landing, so you shouldn't have TOO many problems. >>160282 >I feel this completely ignores just how bad things were on Earth, much less other planets, before the Emperor actually revealed himself and got going. Yeah, I am ignoring that, because in my opinion Earth doesn't fucking matter in the grand scheme of things. The forces of Chaos are self sabotaging even on their best days, if the Emperor had poofed at the start of the Age of Strife, then Chaos would have ripped Earth apart and then petered out because they can never build successful empires, only subvert them. Earth is just one fucking planet. There are plenty like it in the galaxy. And, you know, many of those other planets which you seem to gloss over would have been the seeds of much better civilizations than the Imperium would have been, had they been allowed to grow. Would they have also destroyed their competitors? Yeah probably, I'm not saying a lot of them didn't deserve to be destroyed, but they would have managed it without establishing an absolute central authority dependent on a single man who maintains his autocracy with literal brainwashing. The future of humanity would have continued to progress even if most of them eventually collapsed because there would be something that could feasibly grow into the gaps left behind.

I mean, here is the thing: all the various Chaos cults pre-imperium were so scattered in their beliefs, a lot of them wouldn't even have empowered the actual Chaos gods but create alternate versions of them in the Warp. Chaos ironically became more united after the Imperium snuffed out the cults, as it allowed certain interpretations of the Chaos gods to take hold and spread because it let the remaining Chaos worshippers solidify their beliefs. Additionally, the primary reason why Chaos can invade other planets AT ALL is because of all the Space Marine legions that fell to Chaos. This is a risk regardless on which hypothetical supernation fell to Chaos, but most Chaos incursions would be far weaker if they didn't get as far as it did. There are also some signs that Chaos intentionally wanted the Imperium to come into being to increase their power, but this is much more speculative so I figured its best to spoil it. >>160287 It really is not that hard. Again, when your best argument for Emps is that the other side is worse, that doesn't exactly make him the most appealling individual. >>159973 >>160117 Absorbing both protagonists and largely sticking to the plot of 1 leaves us mostly at the same end result. My occasional lapses in possession and absorption mean that by the time Epic of Remnant comes around everything is off the rails. Holmes catches on early which leads him to avoiding Chaldea, and consequently throws Shinjuku's original plot to the winds. Seraph avoids chain ending solely due to using a clone to go. Agartha is a major breakthrough point solely due to absorbing Phenex who immortality aside is a major mana generator which clears up my biggest weakness with it's addition. Ashiya Douman as a foreign disciple takes an interest in me and decides to make everything from Shimousa onwards ten times more obnoxious since instead of casually playing around he is actively messing with me. Part 2 is a hot mess the whole way through as I scramble to adjust to all the moving bits and pieces after they've been butterflied. Atlantis onwards is particularly bad and I largely pull through in the same ways as canon by relying on the remnant servants and God Destroyer Alliance. Avalon le Fae goes off the rails when a few clones I snuck into Camelot take advantage of Morgan's execution to absorb her when she is weakened. From there I give up on Ordeal Stall and just beeline to absorbing U-Olga and then ORT (subspecies) before cracking the planet and vibing in space for 8 years. A Bevin is an artificial sanctuary cave dimension thingy made by ancient Conduits. It's a place of rest and recovery, generally taking the form of a comfortable cave lair thing with a huge lake and nice water features A Golden Pearl is something only a person who has chosen to master a Bevin can produce and they can only make one per decade. They can either use their pearls to make their Bevin bigger, or they can give it to someone else to turn them into a Lesser form of a Conduit. Basically, I reward my most loyal people by giving them an incredibly limited resource that'll give them an eternal sanctuary and immortality

Would make things kinda awkward.
>>160339 Nah. Although a Bevin's an absolutely wonderful place for Xianxia things, now that I think about it. It's a safe and comfortable place that no one else can get to, and it comes with loyal unseen servants that'll do whatever you need them to do, before you even need to order them. They'll even learn new skills if you bring the appropriate tools into your Bevin Basically, absolutely wonderful place to spend a large amount of time meditating or to start an alchemical garden.

>>160349 Correct. And that…honestly depends on which branch of the Imperium encounters it first. The most likely and grimdark explanation is that some high-strung Inquisitor who hasn’t had his daily dose of BLAMS to feel good about his worthless existence sees spacefaring nonhumans and immediately orders an Exterminatus for no good reason. But there actually is a chance that if a pragmatic Order Xenos rep or an EXTREMELY eccentric Primarch (I’m talking Roboute and his memed gf) is the one to make first contact, the Bean Species is benign enough to be considered potential allies. This is however very unlikely. >>160351 To be fair, you had roughly similar gods between the different Germanic groups, but they diverged during the Migration period even before a bunch of them turned Christian. Tiwaz/Tyr became less and less important to the Norse as Odin/Wodanaz waxed in prestige whereas he was just fine elsewhere, Frijjo may or may not have split into Frigg and Freya in the north while remaining one goddess in southern Germanic lands - their pantheons weren't exactly the same, but they were variations on a theme. Beyond that, you get the Celtic gods (differing between continental and insular, with the insulars in turn not the same between Britons and Irish) the Greek gods (who may or may not have absorbed some Semitic and Mesopotamian gods during that 500-year-or-so period when the Greeks forgot how to write stuff down), the Italic gods (and the Etruscan ones they absorbed while also syncretizing with the Greek ones), the Baltic gods (Lithuanian, Latvian, and Prussian), the Slavic gods, and they're all very distantly related to the Vedic Devas by virtue of ultimately stemming from the original Indo-European gods. It's a big beautiful mess full of people (outside of the Greeks and Romans in Europe) not writing things down because oral traditions are honestly pretty reliable right up until someone starts killing the storytellers. Then you had all the migrations and conquests mixing things up and people failing to write things down, and before you know it, the Greek god of the North Wind (Boreas) has become the Japanese wind god Fujin (it starts with Alexander the Great marching all the way to India, continues with the Greco-Bactrian kingdoms doing Greco-Buddhism, and sees Boreas turn into Wardo in India and Feng Bo in China as he travels east with Buddhism proper until we finally get the green guy with the bag of wind). It can be a bit difficult for the average person to keep track of, even if they are a dedicated reconstructionist Neopagan, is what I'm saying.

Strangely enough, it wouldn't be as much as you would think. While all people being killed does strengthen Khorne, the very fact that it has a purpose (even if the purpose was to 'prove your strength of ideology' or something like that would actually make it less empowering in a symbolic sense. Combined with the fact that Armstrong isn't going to be arbitraily fucking over existing religions, and Chaos is still net weaker in this scenerio, as the various gods of humanity will still be around to push back against them if they are present. This is ignoring the fact that everyone would obviously begin worshipping Armstrong, of course, but I'm giving some slack here.

Also getting to face boss enemies that aren't status immune with Lilithmon on my team is so fun. Right now I think my main team is Lilithmon, Examon, and Chaosmon. While I scaled wide and rotated a lot, three of the four components there were digimon I'd already trained up quite a bit and so the fusions are pretty good. No idea what I want for my reservists; tons of viable viruses, few ideas on Data. Idly thinking maybe Belphemon Rage Mode or Milleniummon for a physical virus, and Venusmon for a vaccine. I got that buff all stats on heal skill on Venusmon so she would be really good. Stuff like that.
>>160456 Creepy pasta jump to allow you to become a black furry with tentacles and eyes on one side of your head

Well, my computer just crapped itself and now is running at hilariously slow speeds. Going to have to run some shit as soon as I can while phone posting. Goodnight thread, I hope I can get this working soon.

>>160461 G'night.

>>160456 Pathfinder. Any of this thread's mainstays would also work. Feito, Exalted, whatever. Do you want a jump where shadow powers play a large lore or you are fine with getting them from anywhere?
>>160454 …not an unfair comparison honestly, I would go so far as to compare the Votann to the Tau but if they actually 100% lived up to all their propaganda between having quality of life technology so advanced they can SIMULATE ALCOHOL DIGITALLY for their Ironkin (read: AIs with robot bodies accepted as equals) citizens, well-preserved ancestral knowledge data banks, cloneskein technology that has resulted in the League reproducing artificially since living memory without a single unintended mutation, superior alloys like transubstanium, and permanent solution to Chaos corruption (dimming their souls using a genetically induced “shroud” that makes them much harder for daemons or other Warp predators to find. The “downside” if you can even call it that is this means they produce fewer, weaker psykers). They don’t even have a funny Warp entity trying to co-opt their entire culture!
>>160465 >Do you want a jump where shadow powers play a large lore or you are fine with getting them from anywhere? Either is fine. Also, what's Feito?
>>160466 You're really explaining why no one ever talks about these fags, these are the gay D&D equivalent to 40k since they're the anti thesis to everything 40k. And I liked the Tau

>>160467 Anyway, shadow mages exist in both Pathfinder and DnD, so you can get some stuff over there. Shades is a pretty swell spell. Alan Wake is all about shadow stuff. You can get custom shadow powersets from any of the custom power maker; recently Static Shock had one, there is another in RWBY, JJK has both canonical shadows user and would allow you to makee a custom powah
>>160472 Agreed
Huh, I wonder if theres any chance of there being coma patients in 40k in hospitals or if its standard practice to just turn em into servitors.

>>160476 >a rare very well off planet. Brother even Ultramar, the Jewel of the Imperium, has a life expectancy of only 30 years.
>>160485 There are pleasure worlds and other worlds with similar tech to ours.
>>160485 >Brother even Ultramar, the Jewel of the Imperium, has a life expectancy of only 30 years The fuck? 40k lore is all over the place once again. Dark Heresy had examples of reasonably well-off planets. Fucking up one was an Ascension plot hook, even. There was a bunch in books I don't even really remember now.
>>160397 >where almost EVERY SINGLE xeno ally humanity had betrayed them and tried to wipe them out after the rebellion of the Men of Iron, so Big E just decided to not take any chances again. I dunno man. It seems like the sane decision was to try to secure your independence and security against the dudes who regularly engage in gunboat diplomacy to get 'allies' they can push around at will, have spent the last few thousand years producing horrible WMDs on a cosmic scale while performing horrific experiments on themselves, and are now producing the planet-killing mutants who serve as portals to Hell AFTER almost getting everyone killed by their rogue AIs. Like, from the perspective of most aliens, humanity fucked up just as hard as the Eldar, and no one likes the Eldar either.
>>160486 In the past, sure, but not in the newer lore. Also pleasure worlds don't count since there would be vast armies of slaves and servants tending to the nobles who actually get to live well. >>160487 Modern 40k is really going all in on the GRIMNESS and DARKNESS of the setting.
>>160488 >Like, from the perspective of most aliens, humanity fucked up just as hard as the Eldar, and no one likes the Eldar either. You're not going to have me disagree with you on that anon. I was just explaining the reasoning. >>160489 >In the past, sure, but not in the newer lore. This fugging sucks >>160489 >Modern 40k is really going all in on the GRIMNESS and DARKNESS of the setting. No they're going in on what they THINK is grim dark, and that's only on some areas. Because they can't write and the writers don't even talk to each other. Everything is all over the place
>>160328 Are....are you Tiamat?
>>160482 >kemonomimi Generally speaking, you will want the Kithain (Pooka specifically) or the Gallain (specifically, the Nyan of the Hsien). The Garou, on the other hand, have Homid (just a guy), Glabro (somewhere between Mr. Hyde, a Neanderthal, and the Wolf Man), Crinos (the battle form you're probably thinking of when you think of Garou), Hispo (big old dire wolf), and Lupus (literally just a wolf) forms by default. There's a Merit called Fair Glabro that lets your Glabro pass for Homid so you don't lose social attributes, but you're still HUGE in it. There's another Gift called Partial Transformation that lets you sprout specific features, which would allow what you're hoping for, but not every Garou has it and if you botch it there's a d10 table for how it goes wrong.
>>160491 Not yet. But that is the plan.
>>160490 I mean it's just grimderp shit again. That's why I was emphasizing muh GRIMNESS and muh DARKNESS in allcaps like that.
>>160454 The reason they're around is because they should be. >>160495 >The reason they're around is because they should be. Again you're seething and are hearing things I didn't say, I said from the beginning that I don't think the Emperor is the best thing or that everything he did was right, I said I understood why he did some of them but know that he messed up. Also retroactively adding things to the setting tends to change things. >>160494 My apologies.

>>160502 Anon, he ate a time-out. You can relax now. But yeah I think modern GW can't into worldbuilding at all. Inserting a major faction like that is... Well, they got to sell the minis, I suppose. But even Fantasy Warham managed to integrate their "they totally were there all along" new factions better, if only by the grace of "They are literally on the other end of the planet, behind a giant mountain range and devastating desert." I guess it is good to be less successful sometimes. Less writers, less hacks, less pointless "we pay you for the wordcount and vibes" inane lore.

>>160171 Dresden Files is an interesting choice. The jump itself is built around the assumption going in that you're still a mortal human (or else at least still in spirit) and has its custom fail condition based on you loosing that soul. Which is kinda curious if you're going in as something that very much doesn't have a mortal soul anymore. Like, I had what would probably be the equivalent of a mortal soul, yeah. But then I ended up as Tamamo, and so now I'm a ghost-liner with a saint graph fitting that mold. Presumably the jump-background just gives me a mortal soul that I can loose, but that doesn't make much sense if I pick the Outsider origin (trap option it may be, and kinda-sorta maybe misunderstanding what Outsiders are in-setting). Might still pick it, but there's a lot of factors there to consider. ...this is probably a very talked-out topic given how old this jump is. >>160175 The thing about that scene to my knowledge, is that Hakuno's servant is barely conscious in that scene and generally isn't there right state of mind. So Tamamo is supper giddy about it because she's essentially drunk off her ass, Nero is flustered because she's not feeling herself, and Archer....I dunno. For some reason no one talks about him here. >>160187 Given tha vague and contradictory implications around Daji as well as that scene with the foxes in Foxtail, there's a decent chance Amaterasu/Vairocana/Dakini-ten does this multiple times by default. >>160190 Sometimes the choice to be the villain isn't one that's easy to make. Sometimes it's hard, and painful, and unrewarding. Sadly, I am not devoted enough to Evil to do it in these circumstances. Gnarl would be very disappointed in me.
As my first Digimon game I've loved since forever, with Lilithmon being both my starter and favorite unit, I'm now very happy that I was assigning her as Juri's partner in my chain. I don't have a massive attachment to any other specific Digimon that might help dictate any changes to my partner situation in my chain though. Digivolved them up and down and swapped them all around a lot. I had a few I was a bit interested in but they're inconvenient for Tamers. I am rethinking things though because I'm actually sorta frustrated with what Dynasmon was given to work with.

>>160509 For me when I jump DF I take the Outsider Origin and then just don't tell anyone about it. Parallel worlds are a rare but known thing in universe so If anybody realizes enough to ask I can just give that answer and since I don't have the eldritch aura that the actual Outsiders have they won't assume otherwise. Then I spend my time doing weird magical science to the red court vampires in South America.
>>160512 Time Strangers. It's pretty great. I'm towards the end of the game now but they gave like tons and tons of side missions before what seems to be the final dungeon/fight/zone/whatever the fuck is over there. Lilithmon has an amazing signature move doing AOE damage, super poison, and three turns of anti-heal and it's very fun.

>>160509 >The thing about that scene to my knowledge They weren't well, but IIRC not that badly fucked up? It's been a minute. >Given tha vague and contradictory implications around Daji... Yeah okay, my lewd indulgence jump just swerved hard into El Melloi style adventures. ...Actually, they are dealing with gods now, IIRC. Might as well straight up go there. Crossover toggle prolly allows that.
>>160517 NTA, but no, there's no jump for that setting
>>160496 Just take this perk from the Werewolf: The Apocalypse jump >Sidestep [400] (...) Normally, the ability to step sideways into the Umbra or spirit realm would be of limited help after you leave the jump unless there is a compatible spirit realm, but this makes sure there is some type of spiritual realm to step into even if the world shouldn’t have one. It doesn't explicitly say as much, but it's pretty fair to infer that a spirit-world compatible with a Garou's ability to step-sideways would also have spirits capable of giving Gifts. Alternatively, go to Dark Medieval, it ensures you can keep getting gifts in subsequent jumps.
>>160468 Or the equivalent of Exalted 3e’s attempt at moral relativism for many notable characters, I imagine. I’m glad I was never a true 40K fan even though I read a lot of shit for the sake of chain writings, I just got to be confused and amused by stuff like this instead of being truly enraged. I distinctly remember my first reaction to the League of Votann was immediately imagining a Dwarf Fortress/Deep Rock Galactic Jumper entering the setting and trying to build something more sustainable than the Imperium at a face distance. >>160509 >Dresden Files I’m still waiting for the bombshell about what being Starborn actually entails to drop, especially with the comically metal circumstances revealed about how it comes about. >>160515 Apparently one of the future books is going to be entirely dealing with an alternate timeline where Dresden teamed up with Mavra and (presumably) went evil.
>>160520 Alternatively, you probably can power through with a learning perk. Preferably one flavoured for sudden enlightens and such. Spazz's chinaman isekai actually got a perk that prolly could be bent into making new gifts, I think. Not quite the intended use, but I think it could be made to work.
>>160509 >Presumably the jump-background just gives me a mortal soul that I can loose You might read as a particularly busted Changeling before inconsistencies and such start to pile up. They are supposed to be half-monster half-people locals.

This ultimately got Jumper killed, simply because due to being absolutely fucking crazy and seeking to consume reality, he made enemies of everyone. Final part of the chain was Planewalker Jumper vs heroes and villains from across the multiverse in an epic final battle that saw people working together to get past Jumper's powers and defenses and immortalities and one ups, though at the cost of almost everyone dying and the entire multiverse being scarred forever by Jumper's rampage.

Think of it as choosing to do what you want, rather than being tied down to a specific set of actions. As for where to go next, try Fate Strange Fake. You might be able to finish the ritual there.
>>160515 Red Court's kinda weird tbh. Like, just from top-to-bottom. The way the early books talk about them describes them as creatures of the Nevernever who are fundamentally alien to the physical world (if less so then other Nevernever critters) and aren't all that strong magically. This is pretty easy to infer is Dresden kinda talking out of his ass, given it turns out Bianca was fully capable of becoming a Kemmler-type necromancer with some tutoring, and the Red Court was able to get mortal-magic using vamps by turning practitioners and wizards, but even then it was still pretty heavily emphasized that their advantage was numbers and physicals. But then we learn their big daddy has been impersonating Kukulkan for millennia, might or might not have a basement full of captive gods he and the Lords of Outer Night are draining, and either way has been mainlining the faith of the Maya and Nahua speaking peoples for a long, long-time to the point he's comparable with an actual (if severely nerfed by both lack of faith and the sacrifices you need to make as a god to maintain a material presence in the physical world after everyone agreed that you needed to accept a degree of mortality to do that for the Oblivion War effort) god like Odin, and can pull mojo sufficient to wipe out the majority of Wizards with a single ritual. Like, I'd be fascinated to know how the Lords of the Outer Night went from little pot-bellied bat-dudes into eight-feet tall Swarms-That-Fly, and how the Red King got vaguely Outsider-ish power when only mortals are supposed to be able to have it, and by all indications this isn't a recent development (which the Red Court's involvement with Outsiders is implied to be). ....uh, but yeah. Dissecting and playing around with Reds (not our lady of jumpmaking) sounds like a good time. And that is a good way to avoid the issue, least as long as you can avoid running into heavy-weights who might be able to notice on-sight. Just have to make the choice as the writer to not have a Gatekeeper, Mab or possibly Hades interrupt (since it's kinda implied the Greek pantheon used to be responsible for manning the Outer Gates which Winter handles now, I think). >>160518 >Yeah okay, my lewd indulgence jump just swerved hard into El Melloi style adventures. Fun times ahead for you! Just remember that while Tamamo is largely self-hating for little actual reason (she killed a lot of people, but it was legitimately in self-defense while undergoing a mental breakdown), Daji was legitimately a cackling maniac who enjoyed bathing China in a literal sea of blood. Taigong Wang found this very hot. But Daji was (probably) made by Amy so she could fuck around on the mortal plane. Tamamo was made so she could experience life as a human and understand their feelings and happiness...which is naturally why she had no memory of who she was until her last month of life, turned back into a fox, was confused and horrified, and then got revealed, and at the cost of 160,000 soldiers was traumatized enough to allow herself to be killed. >>160522 It'll be exactly the sort of shonen power-up Harry needs in that specific plot which will then shift and evolve as needed for future plots until Butcher finally manages to crash the series (unless me reading about him being tired of it and wanting it to stop being popular, but still needing the money despite his exhaustion with the setting was me being mislead by rumors). >>160524 Yeah, that fits. If I go with me NOT having a (local) mortal soul, I'd probably explain it as my actual background-self being a fox-spirit (with similar abilities) who possessed a changeling and consumed the poor bastard's soul to steal their power, and is on-insertion trying to figure out how to disentangle herself from her victim's mortal relations so she can to about her own business, only to mentally come apart at the seams and reform into me, her true-self. Which would be a nice way to hit me with a guilt-train of having incarnated as a soul-devouring murderer. On the other hand, could just be normal multi-soul jump shenanigans and I can just freak people out by being recklessly uncaring about the ancillary mortal soul attached to my actual soul. Especially since Multiple Choice (especially if I take it) implies that despite what the ending says, loosing your (local) soul isn't a problem, it's not having a mortal soul you can call yours by the time the Jump is over. After all, with Multiple Choice you can choose to become a full Fairy for a bit, loosing your soul...and then it just pops back when you go back to being a human/changeling. Like, it's technically still your soul, but for a bit it ceased to exist, so you could make an argument that if your consciousness isn't actually in that soul, then all that matters is that you have a soul that's yours by the end of the jump. So theoretically you could just take some poor schmuck's soul, hollow it out, put a copy of yourself in there linked to you, and be fine. Maybe. Probably better to just keep that soul safe than risk it, even if it's just a weird vestigial organ spiritually. >>160540 >What is Clocktower's position on people with very, very strong inhuman ancestry, these days? Mostly depends on politics and personal influence/power, right? If you're not politically connected, aren't very powerful personally, and are actually noticed, people may want to dissect you or use your organs/bones/flesh to make a mystic code or magic crest. If you're either of the first two things, or else avoid attention, you're probably fine. Also, if you're more useful as a living resource or are too much trouble to get rid of (become a pop-star) you can also avoid bad stuff. Even if you get a Sealing Designation, with some connections, power, and the ability to show that you aren't gonna get yourself killed (and therefore unstudiable), you can probably work an arrangement out similar to Touko. >>160546 You are wise my fellow anon, very wise. Hm, a good idea. Especially since I picked up the Grail Blueprints. I can probably justify having a Grail in the warehouse from the years of down-time in F/A to add ANOTHER layer of Grail War to Snowfield.

>>160536 I wanted to just do my duty and fulfil the pact before retiring to be a NEET in my pocket dimension. Then I realized that the place I was gonna get the perk to fulfil the pact had no human civilization and not a lot of available food, and my pocket dimension didn't have enough food or room for a bunch of people to live in for a full decade, so I had to prioritize food and shelter over power I ended up stuck as the unwilling leader of a Clan in FFXII, unable to abdicate my position because the Clan Grounds and alliances were the direct result of my own perks.
>>160547 >unless me reading about him being tired of it and wanting it to stop being popular, but still needing the money despite his exhaustion with the setting was me being mislead by rumors I am not sure about exhaustion, but he absolutely does not handle on-screen appearances of all these beeeeg capital P-Powers on screen. Forget about funny things like actual smart intrigues or that one angel who is supposedly nigh-omniscient through shadows, just not jobbing to a bunch of rebar is too much to ask. It's not that terrible, but hype is very much deflated.
>>160547 >avoid running into heavy-weights who might be able to notice on-sight Yeah it is a concern but for my jumper by the point I head to DF I have picked up perks that cause reality near me to be reinforced and made 'Realer' which is very much the opposite of what Outsiders do so even if they think I am weird they won't assume Outsider.
>>160547 >Hm, a good idea. Especially since I picked up the Grail Blueprints. I am not up to date about all the Jim gossip, but I honestly would not be surprised considering that his divorce INTERESTINGLY coincided with Murphy (the character often seen as a stand-in for his wife) getting killed off and shipped off to Valhalla so conclusively that it was flat out said Valkyries don’t return to Earth until all living memory of them has faded. Coinci-fucking-dentally, the latest couple of books started ramping up the chemistry between Harry and Lara to the extent of ending up in a politically arranged marriage despite supposedly only tolerating each other out of enlightened self-interest. Subtle, Jim. Real subtle. Also supposedly there was going to be a children’s series about Harry’s daughter taking place after the series which, uh, kinda spoils the fact that the Outsiders are getting royally buttfucked since the world is in fact still around and SAFE enough for a little girl to go on magical adventures with a big dog in. At least there was going to be until life hit Jim like a truck. >checks Oh, and 12 Months’ release date is officially January 20 next year. And Mirror Mirror’s after it. And if Jim’s plan is to be believed there’s meant to be 22 main series books before the main story is capped off by the apocalypse trilogy. So. Hooray? >severely nerfed Don’t forget that Kukulkan (False) also periodically goes batshit insane due to an unimaginable amount of blood addiction. Nice bit of ass coverage by Jim to explain the Red Court’s inconsistent performance, one day he’s as tactical as you’d expect an immortal god-king to be, the next he’s a junkie snorting bloodbags like crack cocaine. >when only mortals Given what Nemesis did to Maeve I don’t think it’s a rule only mortals can get Outsider powers, the supernatural communities just policed their own well enough to avoid them spreading until recently. The absolute mindfuck of Ethniu wandering in like a DBZ character still baffles me, straight up establishing powerlevels and demonstrating exactly how high the bar has to go to statcheck all the big name heavy hitters. And also why it’s a terrible fucking idea. Also lmao at Marcone BTFOing every single Denarian in the series on his first joyride with a coin, Thorned Namshiel must be overjoyed he’s not passed around by the usual Denarian jobbers now he’s being worn by the guy with the most plot armor after Harry himself
>>160547 >Just remember that while Tamamo is largely self-hating for little actual reason (she killed a lot of people, but it was legitimately in self-defense while undergoing a mental breakdown), Daji was legitimately a cackling maniac who enjoyed bathing China in a literal sea of blood. Taigong Wang found this very hot. I probably should stop being lazy and figure out a particular reason for repeat visits. Particularly in this post-Age of Gods Era, it would be best to have at least some sort of a reason. Although mixed setting might have some implications for that. But I guess just gods playing divine GTA is an option. I already had chain almost swerve into being a funny thematic BBEG recently. Say, what would happen to FGO's plot if Olga sprouts fox ears?
>>160555 >INTERESTINGLY coincided with Murphy (the character often seen as a stand-in for his wife) getting killed off TYPICAL. Taking inspiration from IRL events is not actually uncommon, but major tilting like that does bad things more often than not.
(30.32 KB 894x894 accurate.jpg)

>>160555 >Marcone
>>160557 (that is to say, IRL influeencees are unavoidable maybe he should have touched grass for a little before writing that book)
>>160556 >Say, what would happen to FGO's plot if Olga sprouts fox ears? Literally nothing. Nasu said Olga’s design is already supposed to be over the top and trying too hard to look impressive, so the fox ears are just completely drowned out by the overall concept of Olga being a huge walking ROLL FOR ME WAAAAAAAH moment. >>160557 Yeah like, it was fine while Jim’s relationship was actually intact (and it was definitely fine when Harry and Murphy were just work friends who had each other’s backs), but the moment it went sour it became a “this is why you don’t date your co-workers” PSA. >>160558 Marcone is Samuel Haight except he put all his XP into backgrounds instead of new race templates. But no seriously at this point Marcone is carried so hard by his status of being Harry’s designated shounen rival it’s a mystery how he can’t find anyone to cure that little girl he accidentally shot that has haunted him for the rest of his life. Remember that? Remember when he was willing to grab the fucking Shroud of Turin to try to cure her? I’m not sure Jim does. Or maybe he took care of that offscreen with his mighty networking powers and Odin already fixed her in his capacity as Santa Claus.
>>160560 > Remember that? You know what would actually be pretty good, imo? He forgot. He ate too many power-ups, got in too deep and bamboozled too strongly and so he just kinda left it by the road the same way Kars just kinda forgets about Wham after ascending. And then he dies with about as much dignity. Maybe less. I don't think he needs a volcano.
>>160560 How would Harry fare in the old World of Darkness?
>>160561 >bamboozled ...dy denarian
is the movie for hunt for red october good?
>>160562 Reasonably well. He could b roughly mapped to a Forces... 4ish Prime 2 Correspondence 3 mage, I think, although he is substantially better at just whipping out biggatons without prep.
>>160560 >Literally nothing The implication is that she gets possessed and so on. I am mostly curious if Marisbirri decides to invest his nebulous Marisbirri powers on getting the fox out of his daughter or he'll just look disinterestedly and continue seething about this not being FGO timeline or something.
>>160566 Needless to say, either way, pre-FGO.
>>160568 It's Death Battle, anon. If you expected better, that's your fault.
>>160568 >watch shit >it's shit ???
>>160570 >How could this be happening to me?!
>>160568 I'm curious about Dante vs Clive, even if I couldn't give less of a fuck about modern FF
You are about to transition from >>160571 to >I made some mistakes Why care about things you know are gonna be shit? You gotta let go, anon.
You cannot escape your sins, anon.
>>160559 Jim has never touched grass before writing anything, and his excuse that the stories are supposed to be seen through Harry’s lens of sexual frustration rings a little hollow when he has written from other PoVs and…it’s often still quite horny. Which I mean hey, relatable, I just wonder if the guy worries about how transparent the ruse is. Sometimes I think he established the Summer/Winter Lady mantle forces you to never have sex, ever, to try to escape the grooming/toxic relationship allegations for Harry re: Molly. Especially after how hardball he played with her like say-with that literal trial by fire in White Night. Even if it raises…questions…about how exactly Aurora was enabling the transfer of her mantle to Lily to make her the new Summer Knight at the time. >>160561 With how often Jim likes to make scenes in which Harry stares at Marcone taking care of battered women, donating to charity, rescuing puppies from trees and then thinking something along the lines of “GOD I fucking hate that nasty crimeman but…BUT…I have to respect him as a man” I’m increasingly convinced the final boss of the series is going to be Marcone mainlining the full power of the Outsiders somehow like a more successful version of the Illusive Man in ME3. He should be dead ten times over from the kind of bullshit he’s gotten into. >>160562 He does reasonably well in the kiddie pool, but he’s absolutely fucked if he tries his usual audacious shit because the higher powers in oWoD are much, much less willing to humour one man going rogue to do the right thing reliably. And the Messengers viewing you as deserving of Solar-like Hunter powerups is complete RNG. He basically has to limit his shenanigans to Dead Beat levels at most or he’ll end up dogpiled. As the Eebs showed, an entirely valid way to gank Harry is attrition and firebombing him in his own home. >>160565 Personally I would give him Forces 3, Correspondence 2 and Spirit 4. Yeah, Harry thinks of himself as a fireball merchant but in oWoD terms his ability to mind spirits is actually really fucking impressive. How he handled the Erlking and Demonreach would be much more concerning to an Earthbound than his sub-nuke level spells. >>160566 Oh, still literally nothing because Olga was never part of Marisbilly’s original plan. She was explicitly chucked into CHALDEAS to delay the Alien Planet’s plan, all but spelt out to be manifesting a proper vessel for the Alien Priestess who is essentially it’s Archetype. Presumably the resources that were supposed to make the Priestess an Arc expy went into making Jobga and her exponents instead. >>160568 Nah it hit rock bottom with Toph vs Gaara, everything past that has just been people getting back their taste. Your sins will not fade from memory.
>>160572 >Clive dude's supposed to be literally jesus or something so he has a type advantage
>>160575 >Oh, still literally nothing because Olga was never part of Marisbilly’s original plan. The disrespect, lol.
>>160575 >Toph vs Gaara See, this one is actually funny, because they went 'man, why can't these anime people stop losing?!' and then everyone tore into them for their shitty research and nonsense results. This hasn't stopped them, of course, as seen with Omni-Man vs Bardock or Asura vs Kratos, but it still is funny how they practically invited getting bitched out over it.
>>160575 >how exactly Aurora was enabling the transfer of her mantle to Lily I just assumed that Summer transferred the Mantle in a different way than Winter.
>>160578 >Asura vs Kratos Crazy how hard they fumbled on that one, they had so much material to work with only to make the most boring shit possible
>>160579 Some technically legal lawyering, maybe.
>>160575 >Nah it hit rock bottom with Toph vs Gaara, everything past that has just been people getting back their taste. Was Yang x Tifa before or after that?
>>160582 After.
Also I'm surprised they let Maka beat Ruby's ass
Reminder: November is Pokemon Mating Season.
>>160584 RWBY characters constantly job even in their own show.
>>160580 Because what the actual fuck was Kratos supposed to do against accurate Asura? Making him a giant monster, fine, Kratos has fought giant enemies, they could bullshit with that. But the second they actually properly represented canon Asura and what he could do, they're handwringing over 'w-well, Kratos could POSSIBLY do this' or 'Kratos could THEORETICALLY do this' goes right out the window. We all know the real reason is because they were scared of getting harassed by God of War fans when Kratos lost, so they took the coward's way out. >>160584 They also let Weiss lose, and with DB no longer being owned by Rooster Teeth, any defense RWBY characters had because the bosses wanted them to win is gone.
>>160585 Jokes on you, I'm into that shit.
>>160588 But are you into nerdy pokewife who likes Yugioh?
>>160587 Who did Weiss battle against?
>>160579 I…I don’t think Jim has ever established anything definitive about it, but it’d be odd if the court that’s supposed to be about “the wisdom of the heart” (TL note: Mab has been objectively correct about literally everything so far except how far beyond reason Maeve ended up being and how much she could threaten Harry while standing on his buddy Demonreach, and has actually gotten shit done while Titania has been such a histrionic bitch about the consequences of her own parenting oversights that Eldest Gruff had to prevent her from nuking the supernatural community’s current anti-Outsider messiah) did things in a less intimate way than the court that’s exists to be cruel and merciless enough to fight eldritch horrors indefinitely. >>160580 I haven’t watched it and will never watch it because I refuse to let their fanfiction contradict the evidence of my own eyes for both franchises, but I heard they showed the alternate ending with the episode. Which they don’t normally do. And says quite a lot about how confident they felt about the integrity of the result. >>160582 After. >>160587 To be fair if they were worried about fan backlash I don’t think they would’ve wasted so much time on Goku vs Superman episodes just to hand out the same result over and over again, I think they just decided to farm nerd ragebait engagement as part of their business model.
>>160587 Are modern GOW fans even that scary?
>>160587 I had my "this makes absolutely zero fucking sense" already, I am not gonna spiral again. But yeah that was nonsensical.
>>160589 Is that... supposed to be Hatterene? Kind of hard to tell if so, since it only vaguely resembles it.
>>160584 Sacrificial lamb, like how Batman died so the rest of DC (except Kyle, rare anime W) can shine brighter.
>>160589 Second verse, same as the first. Gonna double, triple, maybe even quadruple her life points with the new life going into her.
>>160594 According to Salty, it's a Hatterene named Ana. Specifically a hybrid Pokemon, which is Salty's go to excuse for "human/anthro pokemon with massive tits and ass"; they're human-Pokemon hybrids.
>>160597 The funny thing is, knowing what we know now he could just assert that she’s a genetic throwback to the old days when humans and pokemon CANONICALLY interbred with each other. Got some of those recessive genes acting up.
>>160598 He also had this weird thing about inventing an entire fake religion where people worshipped a fertility god(dess?) named Sinnoh for a while. Which was vaguely interesting background lore, but also just confusing.
>>160590 Mitsuru from Persona 3. >>160591 I think the difference there is that they could go 'welll some versions of Superman would get stomped by Goku' or 'hey, different kinds of stories' or similar meaningless platitudes. With Kratos vs Asura, it's 'the guy who you think is so cool gets shit stomped because Asura is actually as powerful as fans of Kratos wank him to be'. >>160592 They definitely seem pretty crazy still, though not as bad as they used to be, admittedly. >>160593 Fair enough.
>>160599 I mean, technically speaking, Legends: Arceus has Arceus referred to as 'Sinnoh' by the people, and we all know about that unused lore of Arceus being a mother goddess that slept with a mortal man and gave birth to Dialga and Palkia. Plus all the memes since about Arceus being a total slut. So in that light, fertility goddess Sinnoh/Arceus checks out.
>>160599 Well he might as well use the leaked Gamestop lore about Arceus fucking a mortal Chad who protected her from an enemy she couldn’t overcome alone after impregnating her with the gods of time and space, because honestly that’s somehow hornier and more romantic.
>>160601 >>160602 Huh, the more you know
>>160602 I think the best part about that myth is that, not only did this mortal man stand between his kids and an horror that nearly killed Arceus, but when he did in their defense, Arceus created the Lake Trio from what remained of him. Dude was such a fucking beast that not only did he earn the genuine love of Arceus and father the gods of Time and Space themselves, but three deities were born from his remains, and those three would go on to help look over Palkia and Dialga long after his own death.
>>160594 a distressingly high amount of people seem to get catfished by the hair loli
