Is Argent around? I had this weird brainwave about something I could do with a mini-Perimeter that I can get in Enigma of Fear, and I need someone who's familiar with the setting to sanity check this.
Alright. So, the Perimeter doesn't properly exist, right? Anything that happens within it essentially never happened in the rest of reality. But what about things from the Perimeter? Say that I create...let's say a clock, made purely out of materials that exist only inside the Perimeter. Now, let's establish something else real quick before I continue; people can exit and leave the Perimeter. That's just a fact; it happens multiple times in the story, though it's noted that you forget anything you learned inside the Perimeter when you leave it. So, let's say that I have someone come inside the Perimeter, take the special Perimeter Clock I made, and leave it with a note to the effect of "don't return, you got what you came for".
Does that clock exist in the real world? It's made of stuff from inside the Perimeter, of something that by its very nature doesn't exist. When the Perimeter fell Mia was left stranded outside of reality due to having been born inside the Perimeter, and thus with the Perimeter's collapse she never existed in the first place. Given that, then my basic assumption is that the clock would exist in a sort of limbo state; as long as the Perimeter stands in some way or form it will "exist", but at the same time very pointedly doesn't actually exist.
This feels like a weird sort of ontological argument, yet if I can pin down how this works I feel like I'd be able to leverage this state of paradoxical nonexistence to do some very funky artificing.
