Alright, lemme try to explain all this. Starting with the System I guess, it's nothing too outrageous. In this system everyone is automatically bestowed a job that provides natural inclination towards certain skills and stats. You can get experience points both by fighting and killing things, as well as just honing specific skills or crafts through training. Either way, once you have accumulated enough experience you can level up by praying to a deity of choice, though most unthinking creatures auto-level through sleep by the oversight of different deities. After leveling, you experience small growth, but also obtain stat points you can deliberately use to develop your different abilities. Skills that reach certain levels may grow into new forms of homogenize with similar Skills to form a distinct whole. Sapient races like humans or elves after reaching certain levels can progress their god given job into a superior form based on their skill and stat progression, while beasts and monsters have the ability to evolve into new forms based on similar criteria. Beyond the main points there's also some basic advantages like mild mapping, appraisal, and inventory functions to the system.
In this system, I am a candle. I'm an unusual candle as I have both the inhuman race of Candle which would make me more comparable to a monster, as well as the class Chandler which is more of a sapient race thing. Once I awaken in this world I'll find myself on an altar within the temple of an unknown deity, perched upon an enchanted candlestick (Rare Starting Gear) adding greatly enhanced longevity before I burn down. As an independent entity and not just a normal candle, I have access to the system, and magic with it along with a very obvious affinity for fire (Magic Affinity/Basic Affinity). With the abilities of my F-Tier class and a shocking ability to apply them ("Useless" Class), to maintain my fleeting life I'll begin to cannibalize other candles around the altar when nobody is around to see, with skills like "Mold Wax" to siphon the wax, or "Twist Wick" to unfurl wicks to lengthen my own. Over the course of this process, I will eventually remake myself into a finer and finer candle with my developing magical knowledge and skills as a candle maker (Technomancy).[Expand Post]
This continuous process of extending my lifespan will have the god who the temple is dedicated towards take note of me, and show favor upon me as a kind of novelty that fell under their dominion (pet Character). They'll send several of their worldly servants to tend to me (F-Tier Familiars). By the presence of these little divine entities, the temple/religion will suddenly take notice of me and see me as a divine relic of their patron deity and begin to treat me as such (Rags to Riches). As I continue to develop and hone my skills - thus earning experience - I'll level up again and again until eventually evolving into new forms that can more easily interact with the world around me. In this new form I'll be treated with both dignity and reverence (Villainous Demeanor / Spice of Life).
I think that's my concept for this build, just need to figure out what deity took note of me first, and then what my Race/Class progression stuff looks like. This seems really neat though.
Oh, and for Local Flourishes I'm thinking any magic or special abilities I use with any external appearance or indicator will be tinged with a dark, faded purple energy. I like that color. As a candle it'll probably influence the color of my flame.
