So, still thinking of being Raikou in the 4th Fuyuki Grail War. We know from Accel Zero that if you gang up on Gilgamesh in a way that triggers his ego in the right way, it’s fully possible to just beat him conventionally. I don’t think I can really replicate the specific advantages brought in by Zhuge Liang/Waver, Mash, Ritsuka’s shadow servants, and Lancelot all jumping him at once, but the principle is at least semi viable.
But that’s not immediately relevant, tbh. Now, Angra Mainyu…honestly has made things easier than it really has any right to be, at least regarding the semi-rational masters. Because while Zouken is too far gone, most of the other masters with the possible exception of Kerry are gonna take one look at, well, the Greater Grail, and flip the fuck out. The problem then, is actually getting the other servants in a position where there masters will see this shit. My biggest asset in this endeavor is that while Zouken can see through Sakura’s physical senses, when Sakura is looking through my senses, she’s not seeing with her eyes or even really her brain. And Sakura’s view of Zouken as an opposable force only solidifies after she sees Kariya crash and burn, so I can probably keep her mum on parts of this.
With all that said…the fight at the Docks is something that me being summoned won’t butterfly. Me being summoned at all is an irregularity, and I don’t see Zouken registering Sakura as a master, not likely to even let her out of the house. So I have essentially a free reign as long as I’m reasonably subtle. So I would intervene.
Now, the more dead servants we have the more dangerous the situation gets, but the situation here is pretty stable. So my goal here is, if possible, to kill Kiritsugu. After serial killer-kun and Zouken, he is the most irrational of the masters here and he is not going to willfully look through Saber’s eyes, so convincing him of the grail’s corruption would require I literally drag him into the chamber. This risks Saber, but honestly, not really. The moment Kerry dies, Saber makes a pact with Irisviel, and the Grail will give her command seals because Saber is one of the most reliable vectors for Angra Mainyu being born, between Diarmuid not having a wish, Gilgamesh not having a wish, Iskandar running into the impassable roadblock that is Gilgamesh in any plausible scenario, Kayneth not having a wish, Kariya being destined to loose, Kirei needing to be handheld by Gil to wanting to win, and Tokiomi being liable to get taken down with Gil if he manages to pull a win (because we’ve seen Gil keep fighting sans half his body, he’s taking Tokiomi with him 95% of the time), and Gilles inevitably arggoing lit everyone else. So Angra Mainyu is giving Iri command seals.
Anyway, whether I actually kill Kerry or not isn’t super important. It’s good if I do, because despite how much she’ll hate me Iri is much easier to force to see reason here, but if I fail…well, I wasn’t convincing him anyway. I think I probably can kill him, I know where he’s going to be and despite bad agility I can still run circles around him, but if he manages to survive it just gives me another angle to approach Kayneth from.
Regardless of the outcome, I’ll approach the Hyatt Kayneth is staying at the next morning. Given his familiars and security system, he’ll be aware of my approach as I make it, and dressed in normal clothes (I’ll have “acquired” them shortly after being summoned) will be enough of a signal that I’m not here to fight. I expect he’ll be very curious why the Matous have two Berserkers, and that’ll be a suitable opening for me to lead him to the conclusion that something is wrong with the Grail.
After all, Eastern servants shouldn’t even be summonable, and yet I’m here. Once Gilles shows his true colors, I’ll have a third piece of evidence. Too many servants, servants of the wrong cultural sphere, and an anti-hero.
While I doubt I can get Tokiomi on board, Kayneth I expect will be open to the possibility that this “eastern ritual” has blown a gasket. If we bring that to Risei, it’s very possible that we can actually get Tokiomi to at least indulge Risei and Kayneth.
This then, will result in, well….
Look, Angra Mainyu is not subtle. With Kayneth and Tokiomi both on the “What the fuck is this” train, I think we can honestly get the Grail War called off. Irisviel has already gone rogue, and this gives her what she wants (I.E. saving Illya from the fate of the Justeaze-model Homunculi). Kerry is the real wild card here, and if he’s dead…well, that just leaves Kariya, and while Zouken can struggle, he doesn’t have the shard of the Lesser Grail to implant in Sakura. So if I can get her out of the house for a bit before this all comes to a head…well. This is actually workable.
If Kerry is dead. If he’s alive, then…I don’t think the Grail looking like it’s going to birth an eldritch horror is enough to deter him. Not without it rubbing his face in how his dream is impossible because he’s literally too much of a edgelord to even conceive of the world he wants.
